  1. 5/5Personal Experience

Recently bought a house and my homie is building his own house. We determined the best DIY home security was Cove based on the remote control and touch screen panel capability. After using Cove for 3 or 4 weeks and ironing out a few kinks, I don't have any complaints to be honest. I almost gave up, but with a little patience everything was able to be configured and streamlined. I have not ordered video cameras yet and I [do not] expect that to work with the panel when I do-- I don't think the capability is even there at this time. I'll be connecting those to my Alexa Echos 😊 Each company has their plusses/minuses, but I decided Cove was right for me. Customer service so far has been very helpful contrary to some of the reviews I've seen. This is a genuine customer review 👌🏽💯

  2. 1/5Not what was advertised

Pros: Easy to instal the hub and panel. Easy to install the sensors. Easy to set up. Cons: Their camera system is garbage. They use a company called Eufey cameras. They do not integrate well at all with the cove connect app. Customer service tried to help but got upset when I called them out on using an inferior product. Overall experience with customer service was not positive at all. I’m sorry to sound like an ugly American but their representatives were not easy to understand at all and got very upset with my frustration. Please note that I was not happy with them on the phone but also I was not calling anyone names or cursing at them. Not a professional experience at all. Don’t waste your time with these people if you want your security system and camera system integrated. They just have not figured it out yet and that is why I am giving one star even though there are some positive aspects.

  3. 1/5SAVE YOUR MONEY

This system is absolutely awful. If I could give this company or app zero stars I would. My cameras have connection issues constantly and on top of that the recording software is atrocious at best. If you set the cameras to catch every motion they still won’t record 90% of the people walking by. It should be able to see every time I walk out my door and instead will show a 5 second clip (even though it’s set to record 30 seconds) after we’ve left the driveway already. Customer service is worthless, they can never seem to do anything other than recommend a reboot or help reset your password. Cove knows they’re selling an absolute dumpster fire of a product and continues to push it and tell everyone to deal with it. My cameras haven’t been connecting and now when I need a recording of something that happened I still have zero access to the cameras. Called support and after sitting on hold for over an hour I opted for a call back from their support team which never came. Absolute waste of money and time with this system. I wouldn’t recommend Cove to anyone on the planet. Go to another company.

  4. 3/5Needs more functionality with cameras

The app is a big improvement from the old cove app. The biggest reason I switched was the fact the new panel and app allowed me to connect all the cameras to it and view in one app as opposed to having cove and eufy separate. The issue is with the eufy app you get a live preview of the video being captured and it would tell me if it was a human or just motion being captured. The cove connect app will NOT show a preview or tell me if it was human or motion, just that motion was detected (even tho the cove app asks you if you want to record for humans or all motion) so it seems that should be added as a feature to the notifications. That is my only issue with the app and will change to 5 stars once they add it.

  5. 1/5Cameras are HORRIBLE

If I could give 0 stars I would. Me and my wife bought a house a couple of months ago and with that we wanted a self monitored alarm system. So we decided to ditch Ring and switch to Cove as she had heard good things about them. WRONG. Everything from the initial install has been BRUTAL. All of the door sensors work well, but that’s not what we switched for. We also wanted to monitor our back yard and driveway. We got the solar powered cameras by a company called eufy with our install kit and they are GARBAGE. The initial install took a couple of hours. Not because they were hard to put up or anything but because they REFUSED to connect. Finally after talking with support for over an hour they connected and I put them up. You would think this was the end of it… WRONG. We went out of town for a weekend and while we were gone the Cameras disconnected. As you can guess, not ideal when you’re out of town. We get back and now I have called 4 times, spoke with 4 different representatives, talked to my wifi provider (they tried to blame them), and I’ve finally had enough. After hours of being on hold or being told the same basic steps over and over again, we are returning the system and going back to ring. 0/10 do not recommend this product.
