1. 5/5Conversion is Confusing

   The notice that popped up when I tried to log into the App the first time said accounts created before November 7, 2023 needed to be recreated. When I tried to ‘recreate’ the account, it said my email address was already linked to an account. After a bunch of trial and error, I reset my password and it seemed to work. The store employees had not been trained on the conversion process, or how to use the app, so the whole process was trial and error. I’m sure I’ll get used to the new system, but right now the app conversion feels like a huge pain. This wasn’t thought through very well.

   Costa Vida has a special place in my heart, and it's easy to see why. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the warm, inviting ambiance that feels just right for any occasion, whether it’s a casual dinner with friends or a relaxed family gathering. One of my absolute favorite dishes is their sweet pork burrito. It's like a flavor explosion in your mouth—tender, juicy pork wrapped in a perfectly soft tortilla, topped with just the right amount of tangy tomatillo sauce. It's impossible not to smile after the first bite. The Baja Bowl is another standout that I keep coming back to. It’s loaded with fresh, crisp veggies, hearty rice and beans, and your choice of protein. The flavors blend together so harmoniously, each bite feels like a little vacation to the coast. And let's not forget the desserts. The Tres Leches cake is a delightful treat that never fails to end the meal on a high note. It's light, moist, and soaked in sweet, creamy goodness—just thinking about it makes me crave another slice! The friendly and attentive staff at Costa Vida always go out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure you have a fantastic dining experience. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout, they consistently deliver top-notch service that leaves you feeling valued and satisfied. For me, Costa Vida is more than just a restaurant; it's a place where great food and wonderful memories come together. It's a true gem that I always look forward to visiting, and I can't recommend it enough.

3. 1/5Glitchy buggy app- updates are terrible

   This app has always given me issues and problems when trying to order food. It’s constantly asking for updated account info, you update and are constantly prompted to update your password- you do, and then it’s constantly telling you it’s incorrect. Their rewards management software seems to be run by a company called “spend-go” but that software doesn’t communicate with their app platform - you can never log in properly- the rewards points are never applied properly on the native CA app- it’s all just a terrible mess. and what’s worse is I’m constantly getting emails from Costa Vida about all these great deals about buy one entrée get one free and then you go to the app and you try to sign in so that you can accumulate points and take advantage of all these great deals, and then the app is always just completely unresponsive and glitchy about logging you in properly and making sure that your points are applied properly. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve just given up and either gone down there and had to order in person to take advantage of all the great deals or I just give up and ordered from another restaurant whose app works properly I have one recommendation for Costa Vida get this -get this APP situation fixed!! And trust me if you’re a Costa Vida fan, have the app and are reading this I know you’re shaking your head in agreement. This whole app situation of theirs is just completely ridiculous. Too bad I can’t rate it ZERO out of five stars - because I would.

4. 1/5Impossible to use with new update

   I don’t get to have Costa very often since it’s not in the town I now live but I always want some when I go home to visit. However since the new app update it’s impossible to use and makes ordering 100x more difficult. This app won’t let me change my location when ordering. When I attempt to it says there are “no locations near you” which is crap because there are 4 within 30 minutes of my parents house. Additionally when I attempted to order online bypassing the app entirely it wouldn’t let me order because apparently it was still “closed for the holiday” even though it is open. I’ve never been more annoyed before. Add that on top of losing rewards that were in the app, not being able to scan receipts, and just being super glitchy this has made it awful to attempt to order ahead or do anything convenient with costa vida. Fix the issues and you’ll keep your customer base happy.

5. 1/5TERRIBLE new app, just leave well enough alone

   I never leave app reviews, but this new app is garbage. Seriously who thought it was a good idea??? Why take a good thing and make it very user UNFRIENDLY?? It was a hassle to create a new account, it kept logging me out and didn’t load my points. If I had known I was going to lose $50 in reward points I would’ve treated my whole family to dinner and used them all before the update. Now my points are barely worth a meal and a dessert. How cheap of HQ to downgrade everyone’s points like that without a heads up. So did they consider people who order through the drive-through with this new app?? When I got my order tonight in the drive thru, I asked if she could add my points and she said “sorry I already rang you up.” So I had to open the app, try to login, reset my password, login and put in all the information from the receipt. What a hassle. Scanning the receipt was SO much easier! Seriously just go back to the old one!🤪
