   I love the food and being able to order ahead on the app. The food is always fresh, even if there is a wait since they are busy (because they are so popular!) One of the best things about Cafe Zupas is the wide variety of ingredients, which other places don’t offer, and the menu is actually diverse, not just variations on a theme. I love most items on the menu as-is, but sometimes I need the customize option, which is easy to use and my changes are usually correct. I like the new format for customization, but a couple changes would make it even better. First, some of the standard options available in the restaurant are not options in the app, so it’s more limited. Second, most of the add-on options are listed without the price to add, even though the prices are not all the same—some are complimentary, some are less than $1, some more than $1. With more custom add ons and prices added, it would be even better!

2. 3/5Excited, but slightly disappointed

   I was really excited to hear that there was now a loyalty program for zupas. It’s one of my favorite restaurants and I was already giving them all my money, so I was pretty pumped to be getting something back😂 However, the loyalty app has been a little finicky. When I want to order something “asap”, it says that time is no longer available, so I have to change it to be a later time. My most recent qualm is that every time I add a try 2 item and then try to scroll to a different part of the menu (like “drinks”) it freezes and won’t let me see the options. For these issues I’ve resorted to ordering online as the desktop version seems to work fine. Updated review: I tried out the app once more hoping the promised fixes would come through, but unfortunately they did not. Though I was able to order on the app, even with a few glitches, once I got to zupas I was informed that my order didn’t come through all the way. It said that I had ordered a you pick 2, but without the details of it. I also asked for no strawberry and bread. What I got was a little box of a strawberry, bread, and butter without my soup and sandwich. The team said that no details about my pick 2 combo showed up on their side. When I was trying to figure out what happened with the worker’s help, another customer said she was having issues ordering that day as well, so she just came in instead of having to deal with it. This is so frustrating😩

3. 1/5Zero functionality, frustrating

   I used the app because I often have issues when ordering via the website. Somehow, the app is even worse. First, it took me several attempts to get the app to find my address for delivery. I had used to the saved address under my profile that Zupas has delivered to multiple times, and it kept saying it wasn’t available. Finally, I re-entered the exact same address, and I was finally able to start my order. Then the real frustration began. At least four times, I went through the entire process of adding all of my items to the cart. The indicator in the top corner even said I had two meals in my cart. Then every time I went to check out, they suddenly cleared and it said a didn’t have any items selected. Okay, fine, let me try again. Lather, rinse, repeat. Finally I decided to do my order via the web browser, and when I logged in to my account it said I had 8 items already in my cart for a total of $65 (though when I checked my cart, all the menu items were blank/“not found”). So it must have cached my info from the app login, but not in any way that was useful. Okay. Delete them all one by one. Go back to menu. Finally get items in cart and complete checkout via web. How on earth can you roll out an app so dysfunctional that it can’t even do the bare minimum of its intended function?

4. 1/5Takes longer than going inside.

   I’ve only tried the drive through 3 times - each time hoping it got better. You don’t talk to a person, you push buttons on a kiosk you can barely reach- i finished the order but wasn’t sure if it got it all. I clicked pay and thought it paid because it had my card on file from a previous mobile order. I pulled up to the window- which looks like you’re in the stock room. Then I waited to be noticed. Someone finally came and asked the and in the order- I told her my name- they left. Then someone different came and asked for the name on my order. So I told him. (Mind you, all I got was soup- no assembly necessary) he went back to get it. Came back a minute later- I thought I was done- he asked if I paid- I said I thought I had, since I pushed the button. He didn’t see that, asked if I had a receipt- I looked at the app- also confusing- trying to find where previous orders were. It had the order but didn’t say paid, so I paid… It just seems like the whole drive through needs more attention. Some human contact at least. Are they alerted when someone pulls up? Cause it has yet to seem so. Conclusion, it would have been faster to order and pick up inside..

5. 5/5Bit buggy

   I’ve used the previous Cafe Zupas app countless times for ordering without a single issue. The new app unfortunately has some bugs to work out. I tried placing an order multiple times using Apple Pay as my payment method, and the order failed each time. Decided to try a Visa debit card instead. Added new payment method, selected “save card”, and received a “something went wrong” error. Tried multiple times and cards, but could not save any of them to my account. Finally unchecked the “save” option and was able to successfully place an order. So while it appears my order finally went through, it was an ordeal getting there. My hopes are that they fix these issues soon, as I order from Cafe Zupas often! UPDATE: Appears the issue using Apple Pay has been resolved. Was able to place an order and pay with Apple Pay without issue. Added 2 stars to my initial review.

   i go to Zupa 2 to 3 times a week. the app never adds any piints. ive been stuck on 360 points for 4 months now. not worth your time.

   so if I want to order an extra roll with my soup, I have to download this glitchy app and pay the absurd delivery fees (that pay for the infrastructure of said glitchy app) instead of just being able to order an extra roll from door dash like we used to be able to do? why do you hate your customers so much?
