  1. 5/5Great retirement pay calculator

The only thing it is missing that I would like to see added would be military retirement pension calculation, including High-3 and BRS

  2. 4/5Overall ok

I like the app overall—it’s very helpful for federal retirement planning—but I noticed a few areas that could make the projections more accurate and realistic for long-term users: 1. TSP Catch-Up Contributions Missing For users age 50+, TSP catch-up contributions can make a major difference in retirement projections. Right now, it appears the app only uses the standard annual contribution limit and doesn’t account for catch-up contributions, which may significantly underestimate future TSP balances. 2. Roth vs Traditional TSP Tax Treatment Needs More Clarity The app combines TSP balances/projections, but it’s not always clear how taxes are being handled between Roth TSP and Traditional TSP. Since Roth contributions may provide tax-free qualified withdrawals while Traditional TSP is generally taxable, clearer separation or after-tax income projections would make the retirement estimates much more useful. 3. VA Disability Projection Appears Fixed Instead of Inflation-Adjusted The current VA disability amount seems to be carried forward as today’s dollar value into retirement without showing future COLA adjustments or inflation assumptions. For example, if someone enters $3,737/month in 2025, that same amount should not simply be used 17 years later as-is. By retirement age, the actual benefit could be significantly higher due to annual cost-of-living adjustments. Including projected VA compensation growth would make the retirement income estimate more realistic. Overall, this is a strong app with a lot of potential, especially for federal employees under FERS. Adding these improvements would make it much more accurate for serious long-term retirement planning.

  3. 5/5Really great

Handy projections. It would be great if deferred and delayed retirements could be included in another version.

What's New in v1.1 VA Disability Income — New dedicated input for VA disability compensation. Tax-free, with annual COLA. Includes 2025 VA rate reference. All income sources now visible — Timeline and Compare views show every income stream: Pension, Supplement, Social Security, TSP, Investments, Other Income, and VA Disability. No more hidden numbers. Smarter display — Income sources that don't apply to you are automatically hidden. No more empty rows for Supplement if you're not eligible, or TSP if your balance is zero. Military buyback visibility — Compare view now breaks down FERS service, military buyback years, total service, and pension multiplier so you can see exactly how buyback impacts your pension. Fixed ATC formula at 62 — ATC controllers retiring at 62 with 30+ years now correctly get the MRA+30 formula (1.7% for all controller years) when it produces a higher pension. Retirement year slider syncs everywhere — Changing your retirement year on the Dashboard now updates Timeline and Compare to match. Data saves reliably — All inputs now save immediately when you tap Done. No more lost changes. Removed duplicate filing status — Filing status now appears only in Tax & Assumptions, not in Profile.

Bug Fix: FERS Annuity Supplement now correctly uses only civilian FERS service years, excluding military buyback time, per OPM guidelines.

A major update — deeper TSP modeling, retirement-type support, leave payouts, and PDF reports.
