  1. 5/5My go to wine inventory tool

My husband and I started collecting wine about 10 years ago. At first it was easy to manage on a spreadsheet. About two years ago with over 1500 bottles in our collection, I realized we needed something more robust. I had used Cellar Tracker a bit, but I decided to get committed, and I started to inventory our wine in the app. It was a labor of love. That I am so happy I took the time to do. I keep it updated adding new wines and removing the ones we enjoy on a weekly basis. Not only is it a great inventory system? It provides us with very usable information including drinking life, pricing and reviews. This year, we will be adding some secondary review services to our account. I highly recommend the app for everyone, but it’s especially a must for individuals who have a collection of 100 or more bottle.

  2. 5/5Sleek & exciting addition to any wine-geeks digital toolbelt!

Super cool to see this new and improved update to the CellarTracker mobile. It’s obvious that there’s been a lot of thought put into the key actions anyone managing their wine collection takes on a daily basis — adding purchases, relocating bottles, and (most importantly😉) consuming bottles! I’m able to easily find wines using the label scanning, and have enjoyed perusing tasting notes of wines recommended to me on my home screen. There are so many improvements and I feel like the app is constantly surprising me with new features, which makes me super excited for what’s coming next!

  3. 3/5Just Ok

Some of the new features are nice. But I find the old app quicker and easier to use. I saw more of the list, the new app requires more scrolling. Also where I have multiple same year Cabernets from the same vintner; I have to tap the picture or select bottle to see Which vineyard is connected to the wine bottle. The vineyard does not appear on the larger initial title. While this was true of earlier up, I could at least see the vineyard on the first screen. Also adding bottles is a little more of a hassle and less intuitive. After adding a bottle, I will return to initial cellar menu and my previous add does not show up. This has caused me to do duplicate entries and then I have to remove a bottle. Some of the sub menu features are better. I previously hit 1 star accidentally. Not my intention, sorry.

  4. 1/5Bad UX design—shame, shame, shame.

The CellarTracker app was obviously due for an update, but this is all form and no substance. Think about users using their phones with one hand. Having a search button at the bottom of the page, then a search bar all the way at the top, I find myself scrolling up and down a lot needlessly—a problem I didn’t have with the old app. Also, where are the pro reviews? I can’t see whether Jancis or Decanter have reviews for relevant wines anymore, even though I subscribe and always want to know what they have to say, so now I have to do three separate searches. Such an incredible fail—as a longtime user, I’m just furious that you messed this up so badly, and hope you’ll fire the person in charge. Clearly didn’t take time to understand the nuances of how CellarTracker provided a good and worthwhile experience for users.

  5. 5/5Awesome customer service!

My husband and I have been using this app to manage our wine for years. We each loaded the app to our phones and signed on under his user id and password. All of a sudden that wouldn’t work. He could get in but I couldn’t. Even tried deleting app and reloading and changing the password. My husband reached out via the app to them and got a response in less than 24 hrs. After a few emails back and forth they figured out the problem was the new VPN I had just loaded to my phone. Super impressed!!
