3/5Inability to access passes while in transit navigation page
The most inconvenient part of this app is that it does not allow you to access your tickets without exiting from the transport navigation (Which means you lose access to your pre-planned route every time you need to scan the QR codes.) Seems like a huge oversight! Next request. Please let us tap on a particular stop along the route in navigation to see other busses or trams stopping there. This used to be a useful feature in BKK app time. Sad that it’s not there anymore. Currently, when you tap on a bus stop, it takes you to the bus’s route instead of showing other bus options.

1/5Travelers Beware!
This App will not work below ground in the Budapest Metro! The App also does not prove an off-line verification of your validation of any ticket purchased in the App. So, even though you validate your tickets purchased in BudapestGo before getting on the Metro, when you get off, the “inspectors” will target tourists and demand to see your validation in the App, which will not show up. They will the demand 12,000 HUF ($35USD) in cash on the spot as a “fine.” It’s a scam and they know it. Good luck getting your money back. As soon as I turned a corner near an exit and got connection, boom! My validation appeared in the App. I went immediately back to the scammer/inspector, but she had fled. Her partner of course pretended not to know anything. Solutions. Do not reply on the App below ground in the Metro. I went to customer service and reported the incident and they are aware of the connection problems below ground. So you know these “inspectors “ know exactly where to stand and go after tourists. The money goes in their pocket and they disappear. Instead, use BudapestGo only above ground and if you have to use the Metro, purchase a separate, paper ticket and validate it through the machine so you have proof.

1/5Terrible system
After a bus driver refused to let me board with a cash fare in exact change despite lots of signage saying that was allowed and my having done it earlier in the day, I resorted to downloading this app. Jet lagged and with my phone battery dying, I waited eons for it to download, couldn't create an account, gave up and walked back to my hotel, exhausted. I finished the setup the following morning—had to try both Apple and Google login multiple times before I was able to create an account, which also required agreeing to all sorts of data sharing, providing my home address, credit card info (no Apple Pay), etc. I haven’t actually managed to use it yet. Person who said it’s bad for tourists is right!

1/5Faulty App Scams Travelers
So multiple times I have bought a ticket and tried to validate it only to get “unknown error - ticket failed to validate” problem is that you can only validate a ticket before getting onto a tram which is only a 10 second window tops. So the first time I scanned and hopped onto the tram only for the app to say it didn’t validate, a fare inspect was by the door and instantly fined me $38 USD knowing fully well I attempted to validate my ticket but the app failed. After this incident there has been countless times that I’ve waited another 15 minutes for a next tram or bus than risk hopping on because this app fails to validate my purchased tickets.

1/5Confusing and frustrating
If this app is supposed to help visitors to Budapest by making the payment for the metro and public transport less confusing, it fails. Long story short, I tried to buy a one way ticket, couldn’t validate it, got off the metro after one stop to validate, was stopped by those checking the passes as I tried to validate it, who of course don’t speak any English except “sorry, you must pay,” and managed in the end to pay for 2 tickets (one on the app and one I paid for there) and the fine. The worst, so stay away
