1. 4/5Making progress but patiently waiting

   I just wrote an extremely detailed review and I don’t know how but it completely disappeared. So on that note. I’ll just say I enjoy the consistent adding of new and improved designs being added. I also enjoy the tracing tool. It’s been pretty accurate. The 2 things that drive me crazy and are time consuming is not having the option (that I’m aware of) to move a layer up or down. If I add a design from the app and it has a few layers and I want to continue to add elements and then see how it all looks before sending to my machine i have to do a work around in order to have the layers in the proper order that they actually be when cut out. It’s a pretty standard function and I’m confused as to why it’s just not available. The only way to move a layer that should be on top is by duplicating it and then deleting the original because the duplicate will be the top layer. Also the filter has to be reset every single time I go to the next category rather then just filtering once. I thought I could solve that by adding my favorites and filtering my favorites for each category but regardless of what category I’m in if I tap favorites it shows me all of them from every category so I have to sit there and go through all of them multiple times. I’m hoping these minor but super time consuming annoyances will one day be fixed. I want to love this app and feel like if I upgrade again it’s going to be worth it. Keeping my fingers crossed.

2. 4/5Oh Brother! Artspira lacks a LOT

   Brother, you sure bold for charging 1299 a month for some of the most elementary, basic useless, pre-set or available embroidery patterns… honestly, I might pay 399 a month for what it has to offer, and if it wasn’t for the freehand lettering design and layout (that is a challenge to fit on a 4”x4” space), I would have no use for this. The preset options on my embroidery machine are better than what Artspira has to offer. It has the potential to be great, but whoever is in charge of choosing the designs that you have to pick from, for lack of better words, it’s an outdated and a very lame selection. i’ve never used one design from the Artspira app. I will be looking for something better. In the three months, I’ve had this app, nothing has been updated, there are no new fonts or really anything to choose from, I don’t really know what I’m paying for. Tighten up brother! That’s a steep price to pay for what it’s supposed to be used for. Edit: due to the fact that brother responded with news that they will update and keep adding new options, I appreciate that so the reviews get better

   Love the free embroidery designs, editing on my iPhone, and transferring via Bluetooth. However, getting the p-900 to access my router was an exercise in patience (futility). After a week of calling (literally a week) and repeating the same identical and ineffective steps 50 times (literally 50 times), and constantly being told by the operator (I certainly wouldn’t call the people who initially answered the phone “technical support”) that someone would return my call, but didn’t, I got a very knowledge, helpful, and very knowledgeable, computer savvy tech support technician. Within 5 minutes we had the machine connected to my router (internet). We had to manually configure it on the machine. Now I’m very happy with the app and the machine. I was prepared to return the machine for a refund that day because repeating the stupid steps over and over with operator after operator was insanity. A week of that….!!! Seriously Brother?? Stop the madness.

4. 3/5Overwhelming

   While I LOVE the scan n cut ability, transferring data to external sources doesn’t always work and it’s very annoying when you have VERY LIMITED memory on your machine. If there’s anyway that can be increased it would be a HUGE asset. Also, always having to “delete” a pattern or ok it is unnerving until you’re familiar with what it’s doing. That initial fear of losing your work is nauseating. I have yet to understand the reasoning behind it. I’m interested in purchasing files as I suspect that’s the only way to get the details I see on my phone and tablet but I’ve had my machine for 3-4 yrs and have yet to figure out how to purchase them🤦🏼‍♀️. 3-4 yrs in, my machine is having trouble with the left side roller lagging. And it always loads my scan sheet crooked. There should be troubleshooting tools within this app to help care for your machines but I guess that’s Brothers App???? There seems to be a lot more opportunity for those of us who input our own designs and to change them. But doing them on this app is next to impossible. Because it’ll lock up on you or you have to keep moving the screen around and then you lose your place.

5. 3/5Design editor needs improvement

   This app works very well for transferring designs to my embroidery machine. The technology works perfectly. What is badly lacking is the actual design interface. You need to know that it is extremely rudimental. It’s missing many features you would expect to see in a basic design editor. One is that there is no way to copy and paste or duplicate an element in your design. If you add an image and want more than one you will have to go look for it in the catalog again instead of easily duplicating what is already on your screen. Another shocking omission is that there is no way to draw a straight line in the drawing feature. There are many shapes to choose from but no straight line. I signed up for the paid subscription to unlock the additional features but will not be continuing with it unless some improvements are made.
