  1. 5/5Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me

This app is amazing. As the title says, it may be the best thing that has ever happened to me. 🤣 I love all of it. The aesthetic, the easy isbn scanning—seriously all of it. I got this app when I wanted to start cataloging all the books I own, and to open a little mini library if you will. I love how you can batch scan books, and that it can make a little beeping sound when you do. Serotonin boost. I love that if a book doesn’t have a cover you can make one, I love that you can organize and tag and shelf it all, I love that it can organize by series (in book order) and AHH! I love it! It makes my OCD reader brain very happy. I also like that you can make goals and put down when you read the book (and it allows for re-readability.) It’s basically all I ever wanted from Goodreads. (I quit a while back because it was not pretty and I didn’t like all the lag and bugs.) this app completely gets rid of all the lag, bugs, and somewhat dated interface, along with making it much easier to log books because of the isbn scanning. It’s much more user intuitive too. My only flaw is that you can’t place books on multiple shelves without pro. (So I couldn’t put a book I own on my main shelf, and also a TBR shelf.) I’d recommend changing that. Don’t let that turn you off though—this app is amazinggg. I have since made all my reader friends and family download it so we can see each others goals, shelves, current reads, tbr, etc. Yay for this app!

  2. 5/5Exactly What I Wanted

I rarely leave reviews for apps- even the ones I like and use all the time. But rarely does an app leave me so impressed as this one has. So I had to leave a review! As a homeschooling family, one of our state requirements is to keep a list of all reading material we use throughout the school year. I thought about just saving all my library receipts- but let’s face it- who can keep track of those little pieces of paper. So I thought I would start a spreadsheet. But it was going to be time consuming. If only there was an app that I could just scan the book and it would upload all the info! Well- this is it. But the customizable book shelves let’s me separate per child. It lets me record start and end date of the book. It lets me add multiple times reading the book. I can review the book in my library to know whether or not it’s a book we liked or didn’t like. And best of all. Any time I want, I can export to a csv file and have that spreadsheet right at my fingertips!!! Amazing job creating this app!

  3. 4/5I almost love it

Like other reviewers, I tried out several apps and ended up with this one because I love the ability to organize my collection the way I want and name my shelves. I don’t use the reading progress feature since my spouse and I share the same account so we can both see our full library. We love old books and as I’m adding them I’m realizing how many we have - ALOT! Unfortunately, I cannot scan these books in and have to manually enter each title, and this has become such a tedious process that I am procrastinating big time. My list of things that would bring this app to five stars is as follows: 1) Larger database that can recognize my obscure titles. I love it when I can type a title into the search feature and it pops up at the top of results. For books that don’t, I’ve wasted time trying to type it in with the authors name or with a subtitle, only to then enter it all manually. 2) I would love a feature, maybe a pop up, that would inform me that I already have entered the book and do I wish to add it again? I frequently lose track of which books I already entered and worry that I may be missing books, so knowing clearly which ones I have entered in my library is hugely important to me. 3) I would love auto suggestions as I’m typing titles in the search box, and I would really love auto suggestions and corrections on the manual entry page! This would speed up my manual entries enormously, since I am stuck doing that for now. Also on the manual entry page, I would love to have the title field followed by the subtitle, then the author, rather than title/ author/ subtitle. Other than these small details, I’m so excited to have my library viewable on my phone anytime I’m out book shopping! Thanks for creating this!

  4. 2/5Love This App, But Issues

I absolutely loved this app when I first downloaded it years ago. I use it to manage my 3,000+ book and manga collection and it’s absolutely fantastic with how you’re able to organize everything into different shelves. The ease of batch scanning books is its main draw and the ability to track certain variables of your books like price or keeping track of who you lent the book out to just adds to the beauty of this app! However, for last couple of months or so I’m constantly bombarded with ads no matter what I do in the app. I understand that the creator needs to make money and wants everyone to pay the subscription instead, but the amount of ads has made this once beloved app almost unbearable to use. Each single action I take in the app is greeted with a video ad, ad image, or promotional prompt to pay the subscription. I would understand ads every once in a while, but it is every. single. action. Without fail. I’m not the type of person to “just pay money to get rid of ads” and the constant annoying ads make me want to do so even less as a matter of principle. Hopefully this is something that can be dialed down, though I highly doubt it will be. It really is a shame since it sullies such a useful app.

  5. 3/5Not for Serious Collectors

Decent - better than a spreadsheet. This app is perfect for someone with a 300 or fewer newish books, or for someone who wants to set and track reading goals. It will not be serviceable for collectors of rare or vintage books. If you have a home library of 1000+ volumes, adding books will be a multi-week project. Pros: Customizable categories or “shelves” for books. Pleasant, easy to use UI. The free version is perfectly functional and does not have ads. The social media aspect appears to be optional, with straightforward privacy settings. Cover images and book info can be customized. Shelves can be sorted in a variety of ways, and each shelf’s settings are unique. The manual add function is very comprehensive. Cons: The scan feature is inconsistent if the book was published prior to 2000. The older the book, the less likely it is that the app will recognize the barcode. The batch scan function is great when it works, but after about a dozen books it stops registering barcodes. Cover images in the app do not always match the physical edition. The only way to catalogue multiple editions of the same book is to scan one and manually add the rest.
