  1. 5/5Love this app but there are some bugs

I love this app, I can take pictures of my books, organize them pretty much however I like, as well as change the organization easily. It helps me know exactly what I have, making it easy when I go book shopping what I have or need. There are a few annoying bugs in the app. Sometimes when I am putting in a new books info it changes to another book I have already put it! I don’t understand how this happens but it has occurred several times. I’m working down the list of info and them some I haven’t entered is already filled in, then I scroll to the top and see that I am now altering a previous book entry. So I have to back out without saving changes so not to alter a current entry and start over. Also when downloading the app on my tablet I see that several of my entries (originally set up on my phone) have reverted back to their original images from a chosen book entry, instead of the ones I changed them too (but only on my tablet, the images on my phone are correct) So I had to go in through my tablet and change/add the photos again. However I am enjoying the app and hoping that these small programing errors will be fixed in the future.

  2. 5/5The Best Digital Inventory System!!

The iCollect Suite of apps for the various types of items is the best way of quickly and efficiently cataloging a large collection. I have a large library of books, music, and games and all 3 apps let me quickly create and maintain an accurate database of all my collection for ease of reference wither its on the go when shopping and I want to make sure I don’t already have a title or just to have a complete record in case of fires or other home disasters. The only thing I don’t understand is why the app insists on giving items a negative $ value by default instead of just using the listed MSRPs.

  3. 2/5Was great. Now...it’s ridiculously bad!

I loved this app! I have taken so much time to take photos of the front and back covers of all of my books, and for some reason, almost all of the back covers are now missing. Plus, when you add a back cover to a new entry, it doesn’t save it. So now all you can use is the front cover. So basically, this app is no better than any other book collector app since they only allow a front cover photo. I wrote to the developer but received no reply at all as to whether this was a known issue or if they were working on it. Now, I just found that almost all of my front covers are now missing. I have over 400 books in my collection that I photographed the front and back covers of each book, and now, almost every front & back cover is gone. This is ridiculous and poor business. I wish developers would take more pride in their work and care more for their customers. It just always seems to come down to making the money, and the hell with the rest of it.

  4. 2/5Updated from old app… regretting it

I loved the old app. Great display, allowed me to sort my books within self created collections, multiple ways (camera scan, bulk scan, manual isbn, or database search) to add a book to my ‘shelves’ or my wishlist, plus other great features. I recently found out the developer was phasing out the old app in favor of this new one so I updated and had my book collection transferred. I am less than thrilled. I miss the old film theme which isn’t available in the new app. I keep my phone in dark mode because it’s easier on my eyes, but the app doesn’t look great in dark mode. Gone is the selection of ways to add a book. Whether in your collection or wishlist, it asks first if your book has an isbn. I can no longer use my phone’s camera to scan the barcode to add a book or scan multiple at a time. As for adding to the wishlist, the majority of the time I don’t have the book’s isbn, just the title and maybe the author. Tried to add a book and I’m asked if the book has an isbn. I’m sure it does but I just want to search the database, like I did with the old app. 🤦🏼‍♀️ A nice extra is the badge showing how many books you have and how many on your wishlist. I still have the old app on my iPad and I have 488 books with 72 in my wishlist. So why does the new app say I have 491 books with 71 (including one I just added that isn’t in the old app) books in my wishlist? Just for the record, the counts in the old app are correct… I counted. 😑 Also, the new app requires a Cloud account where your collections are stored. I’m not sure how the old app stored the collections, but this seems new. Not sure about this feature yet.

  5. 1/5App is useless unless you want to pay $10

The idea of this app is great. Was basically hoping to organize a list of a very large number of books my company has been keeping in storage, and scanning the ISBNs is an efficient and reliable way to do that. However, after about a dozen scans, the app forces you to pay for the "full" version, though you can continue to add the ISBNs manually. Adding any book to your "list" requires at minimum a title, author and photo of the front cover. So I was taking a lot of photos on top of having to manually add the ISBNs, and constantly adding data. However, once you've added a book, you cannot go back to edit any of the information unless you pay the $10 for the "full" version (and some of the information the app provides for a book is incorrect.) Overall was expecting a much more intelligent and efficient app for this purpose; and the $10 is just a bit too steep a price to pay.
