1. 5/5Frustrating and Unusable

   I had high hopes for this app, but it turned out to be a complete disappointment. The biggest issue when it constantly requires me to log in. every single Time. There’s no option to stay signed in, no biometric login, and it doesn’t even remember my credentials. I have to manually enter my email and password every time I open the app, which is incredibly frustrating. The user experience is awful, and instead of making things easy, it feels like the developers went out of their way to make it inconvenient. Unless they fix this issue, I absolutely cannot recommend this app to anyone.

2. 3/5Mental Health coverage is a joke

   I have two dependents requiring mental health coverage and very few other needs for coverage. Over the years, the battle for ADHD med coverage and psych visit coverage to obtain said medicine have been extremely challenging and generally fruitless. I submitted a years worth of visit receipts at $300 a pop, as our psych does not bill herself and even though she is not “In Network”, I should still get something back. NOTHING. Now, my second child needs treatment for frankly, debilitating, depression, and after several anti depressants have failed, is ready to try a new therapy requiring insurance approval, and in true insurance business model fashion, BcBS is dragging their feet to even the processing of the prior authorization, and who knows if we’ ll get approval. The doctor’s office (a different doctor than child one and In Network) submitted over one month ago and crickets; they had to call and I now, finally received notice via the app that the approval process has started. He needed to start this tx months ago. Over the years, I have been a big proponent of BCBS as their coverage for other things has been pretty decent. When my husband’s firm was looking for new health insurance, I even pushed for BCBS to be chosen. However, mental health coverage for years- has worn me down and left me quite sour. Mental Health is a disease.

3. 1/5The insurance is the worse

   Your company app is outdated 7 providers I call and they don’t exist anymore and all the clinics we visit the doctors are in network however we can’t use any of there labs there because they out of network. A customer service rep. from your company found me and my wife a third primary care doctor and the doctor and facility was discussing. My wife takes warfarin and other medication’s because of her 2 mechanical heart valve she must have a INR/PT done every month to monitor her blood. she haven’t had her blood check in a month and a half. She has blue spots on her legs coming from the blood too high or too low. We don’t know because the doctor that you guys sent us to said the test won’t come back until next week. she relies on them Test so she will know how many pills to take and how many not. she can get a blood clot because it will kill her because of this inconsistent Insurance at $1700 a month. We are bounced all over the city. Trying to find proper care it’s disgusting. You’re robbing a state and you’re robbing me.

4. 1/5Terrible at paying claims.

   I had cataract surgery 9 months ago. They didn’t pay all of the bill and kept giving me the runaround. I was on the phone, on hold on and off, for an hour. BCBS said I didn’t need a waiver. I just got a bill from the eye surgery center and when so called, they said ai need to call BCBS and get a waiver. I need help and BCBS is making it very difficult. I’m going to fight this to the end, BCBS needs to pay it or tell me why they won’t pay it. The eye surgery center says my insurance company said it wasn’t an emergency. My dr told me I had cataracts and that’s why I can’t see at night and can barely see with my glasses on, what constitutes an emergency cataract surgery. That makes no sense at all so now I have to sit on the phone with BCBS to get this figured out. I can’t wait for Medicare in a few months, I would never recommend BCBS. I pay my high premiums every month for lousy service and non paid claims.

5. 1/5What happened to BCBSIL?

   BCBSIL used to be the gold standard for individual in group health insurance, Service was beyond reproach. Now they are as bad as Humana and United healthcare. Their EOB‘s used to be so simple and straightforward, now they don’t make any sense at allWhen you call customer service the people barely speak English, indefinitely do not comprehend what you were trying to tell them they ask you to verify dozens of times and still get it wrong period the app works about half the time and the same with the website. And when it is working there’s a ton of bad information. I am a full pay customer, not ACA. Signing up for the 16th year in a row for individual coverage, and for the third year in a row they sent me my ID card information on it. This is just an example
