1. 1/5“Unexpected Error” for MONTHS!!!

   If I could give this App 1 star for every time it has given me this error… I had been using the app several times a day for years. But all of the sudden it started throwing the “Unexpected Error” at me. I gave it a few weeks thinking there would be an update and it would be fixed. Nope! This has been since at least DECEMBER! It is not a password issue as it lets me login online just fine. I’ve talked to customer support (back in December), and apparently it was/is a known issue. The man in CS I talked to was amazing, walked me through all of the several “fixes” they were told to offer and that he’d heard fixed it for other people. Alas, not one of them worked and he ended up apologizing and said hopefully they get it fixed soon. I’d been using the website since then (December) and last week decided to give the app another try. Redownloaded it and it let me in (YAY!!) -ONE TIME. That same day when went to use it, it gave me that error AGAIN. I’ve been trying at least once a day since then and have not been able to get in since that one miraculous time. CAN YOU PLEASE DO AN UPDATE with “bug fixes” and the like?

2. 1/5When updates equal downgrades

   The “old” app was 5 stars. I recommended Arvest and that app often for its ease of use, reliability and quality. The new “updated” version is absolutely awful. Logging in is such a pain and takes forever and having to log in again if minimizing the mobile app to check my calculator and right back is annoying. I’m all for security but this is ridiculous and incredibly disappointing. It’s also not aesthetically pleasing. I wouldn’t expect or want a banking app to be fancy or stylish but this is just not it. The only thing that seems somewhat decent is the location of the charts. The “help” and search functions are a complete waste of time. Even trying to search the most basic simple things and it pulls up the most irrelevant findings, if any. It’s like someone told AI to redesign the app and called it good without QA and testing it properly. It’s so out of touch. Also the “updates” they are making to accounts to “better serve account holders” is such a load of garbage - which isn’t just the app but Arvest as a whole and I am not happy about it.

3. 3/5Update Ruined App

   I’ve been an Arvest customer for close to 13 years now and an app user for maybe half the time? I would always hit the button that I enjoyed the Arvest app because it was quick and convenient to access, see, and adjust my accounts as needed. With the new update, as (unsurprisingly) many of the recent reviews state - this app is CLUNKY now. To login I have to go into the browser. I have to verify my information each and every time I login. There is no memory or ability to set up a pin or passcode. Each login is likely to take 5 minutes due to the steps now required to login. There is no dark mode option so you’re trapped with the brightest white background with the thinnest black font. I’m not sure if the company is having overarching account security issues and this is their way of hoping to solve it, but it is a pain in the neck as a customer. I can only hope they will update it again and include some of the previous features that made the app quick and easy to use.

4. 1/5Terrible new app and fees

   There’s two main reasons why I’ve stayed with Arvest for the last 25 years, it’s No fees on free Blue checking and the app was very simple and easy to use. Now Arvest is choosing to charge for free Blue checking which I don’t appreciate and your app update is horrible. There is no calendar view anymore which was they most useful tool on the platform. In the past transferring money to accounts, moving money around internally and externally was easy now you’ve complicated it. Also, my E Bills that used to come up right away in the Arvest app have disappeared and I can no longer find. And I do believe the 79-year-old who reviewed the app and said it’s wonderful back in June is real.. That was probably someone in your organization, which would be a conflict of interest. You need to rethink the way you’re redesigning the app and not just have technical people who are young updated and think it’s wonderful. Customer feedback is critical. If it’s not broken don’t fix it. Two factor authentication fine, but you had basically two passwords in the past. If things don’t change back, I will be leaving Arvest and going to one of the other local banks that does not charge fees for checking and has a better app experience. And please don’t just leave a stupid comment thanking me you my opinion, it is a fact that many of my tech coworkers are also extremely frustrated because it came up in our company town hall meeting. Prepare now to lose customers.

5. 4/5Much needed update!

   The new app is an amazing step forward, I really enjoy the new design and layout but there are a few bugs with this release. When you’re enabling the widget on iPhone the app still has you signed in even when you sign out of your account and log in on a different one. It’ll display the previous account’s information while “logged out” and trying to preview the different account. The only way I was able to change that was by reinstalling the app and making sure I had the widget disabled to ensure my account information won’t remain visible. I wasn’t able to submit feedback directly through the app so I’m hoping the developers are looking at their reviews people are leaving. Like I said I think this new app is the one Arvest really needed for a while now and it’s finally on par with the other banks when it comes to banking applications. Now all they need is support for the larger phones! (Like the iPhone X)
