1. 5/5So frustrating!

   Sadly my over 20 years with AOL may have to end IF y’all don’t fix it soon! The app COMPLETELY DROPS emails over and over from the mobile app; NOT on desktop though hardly ever! So frustrating as it seems to happen in the middle of writing.... not ever at the beginning! Also? Even on desktop the weather part won’t synch updates and gives apologies but no fixes. Thirdly, on desktop/laptop the articles on Welcome screen are slow and it doesn’t make sense that the “next page” format makes it take forever to read but on mobile app it’s fine so what’s up with that issue? Fourthly why is there such bad spelling and incorrect grammar with missing words within the articles on Welcome screen? Not very professional. Plus even with ad protection it’s ridiculous to try and read a single text without getting frustrated or giving up as it takes forever even on a brand new desktop and laptop together! Where can an old supporter of AOL willing to pay (and put up with the ridicule) to keep it need to go to get these things worked out so we can support our choices to stay with the Gold Standard worth our while? I’m now disabled so the “perks” you provide with membership really don’t matter to me..... a newer more fluent professional program/app is due so spend time fixing the mess AOL has become. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting I can; it’s time to step up to the plate and swing AOL! Just do it! Again, I absolutely ADORE my AOL.... just give me something to hold on to.... PLEASE!

2. 2/5Spam Control Inadequate for Me and Teen Son

   I tried to go to the link that the developer provided, and I got a warning that my personal information was not secure at that link. So I opted not to go. So here I am still with these two problems added previously: Still having the problem below, plus now I cannot turn my active updates for packages on. When I turn on the toggle button, it just turns itself off. Despite having spam controls in place and constantly marking spam as such, my teenage (minor) son and I are getting constant spam in our inbox, and a lot of it is pornographic. The problem has increased in severity over the past few months, and getting 20+ spam emails in your inbox every day, when you have business or schoolwork to conduct, it’s very upsetting. This stuff used to be filtered out. In addition, AOL auto-ads the spammers to your contacts once they have emailed, so that makes it easier to get into your inbox. (You cannot see this in your computer, but you can see it in the app, at the bottom of all of your contacts.) I am constantly removing the contacts and it takes 15-30 minutes a few times a week. And then they just all come back soon. I think AOL can do better, especially for our minor children, who are dependent on their email addresses for after and summer school jobs and, in some cases, schoolwork. This is frustrating, because I am a long time AOL customer. I appreciate the information that you provided to help minimize spam, but it did absolutely nothing.

   Why does every news outlet seem to be twisting everything Trump does as a bad thing. At this point it isn’t even news, just allegations. The coronavirus spread is directly from the protesting which the Democrats pushed, look in to how Biden and Clinton militarized the police force which lead the police brutalities happening today. Not just blacks but against all Americans has skyrocketed. How the Democrats have been running St. Louis since 1945 and have ran these cities down to the ground with segregation, racism, and lies to keep minorities at bay. How police are running at half staff for the last 4 yrs. the facts are the fact and should be reported. Social media is getting the heat for hate speech but news media is doing the same professionally. It’s no longer news, statistics, and fact but “sources say”! It was said what happened to George Floyd and that policeman are serving their day but none of the news media said anything about him on meth and Fentonal, resisting arrest, fighting in the police car! The news has become social media opt-Ed pieces not news, not facts, just what side they want to sell! The policies put in place by the Democrats has split this country and and things will not equal until every person is actually treated as A Human. Not a constituent. Nothing has been said how trump has had more minorities in his cabinet than any other presidents. Not because they are minorities but because they do their job! News isn’t bipartisan and what you want to twist things! Start doing your jobs!

   I hesitate to write this, only because you seem to be mimicking the trump cartel, and I don’t want to loose my account. For many years I have had interesting content on Facebook, but after 2016, you seem addicted to trump. Almost every post is a photo of this awful man and the commotion he makes whoever he goes. For much of the population, this has grown repetitive and boring. I understand that your boss is very wealthy. It shouldn’t matter, but it does. I guess billionaires like other billionaires. But to support someone that lies more then telling the truth, this should matter. The other thing I would actually speak with Facebook about is your unfair censure of gay sex in messenger. There are videos that come from many sources. They are a teaching tool for people around the world. There are many gay men living in fear of arrest and in a few countries, death. Men that realize they are part of the gay community and must repress their natural urge to enjoy another person thru sex. With your policy being so harsh, it makes communication difficult if not impossible. I worked in the ER at night for the majority of my career. I have been gay my entire adult life. In almost every instance I have been out. I do my best to let these confused and troubled guys, know that they are not different then straight people. I teach them what they need to do to stay safe from HIV or physical attack. I use the opportunity to help them understand and take it in without shame or a sense of being different. With your censure and oversight this becomes impossible. So that is my opinion.

   I’ve had an AOL account since the early-mid 90’s. Having the hoops to jump through (losing all my data in the process) just to keep it linked to my other mail accounts was ridiculous. Having mail all in one place makes efficient sense but that just isn’t to be with my AOL account anymore. I would drop it except I feel a bit caught by the short hairs (so to speak) being that I’ve had this address for probably over 25years and want to keep it the same. I’ve downloaded the app and retrieve my mail that way now. I HATE how the the first thing I get when opening my mail is an advertisement at the top of my mail list. There are a few other features I find [mildly] annoying but can overlook it. The platform is VERY similar to Google Mail and simple enough to use. I think the bottom line is I just didn’t appreciate being pretty much forced to change up what was working fine for me. UPDATE I pretty much hate it. It lacks many of the features I liked in my old mailbox. I can’t stand how ants me to use their web search to access links from my email and how it asks for my log in information anytime I do se the link from my email. I dislike this new aol more and more each time I use it.
