1. 5/5Best language tutor site!

   I have tried multiple language tutor sites, but this one blows them all out of the water. They offer one trial class PER TUTOR which is great because you can test out the teaching styles for only $2-$10 per 25 minute trial class! So I bought about 8 trial classes before finding someone that was absolutely perfect. A couple other great things is that app is super easy to navigate and makes the experience more convenient, and this site does not force you to buy packages! You can buy single classes whenever you would like! I would recommend this to anyone that does not want to overspend for a good tutor. They make it easy to test the waters and find the perfect fit for you!

2. 4/5It’s great but not perfect and that’s good enough

   I got interested in AT through Instagram and it was the first time I did something like this. I like that the teachers reach out to you first. It’s easier than scrolling through every single teacher. The app itself has some bugs sometimes but it’ll fix itself if you refresh the page or close and reopen the app. I did have a problem before when it came to cancelling a lesson. As a mom of 2 under 2 y/o, rescheduling a lesson is constant. I believe that the cancellation/reschedule of a lesson should be up to the teacher and student without the need for it to be 12 hours before the lesson starts. If it’s alright with both parties, it should be okay instead of making it a big deal. It worked out for me in the end but it was a little confusing. All in all I actually enjoy using AmazingTalker

3. 1/5Poor student distribution /low pay

   This platform is nothing special. They claim to match students to the teachers but it’s still a rigged game. You’re sent a notification that gives you three minutes to respond to the student request. Other teachers are also matched and seeing the same request too. By the time your phone pushes the notification to you, you likely missed the chance to contact the student. Even then, the student might choose a different teacher. Your only choice is to literally sit glued to the app all day and pounce on the requests as soon as they come in and hope the student picks you. You’re also penalized if you try raise your hourly rate above the so-called average which means fewer profile views and requests. The average is quite low and you’d have to work yourself to death with back-to-back classes every day just to make a halfway decent living. You’re better off with Preply or similar platforms.

4. 5/5Amazing app except…

   The app is awesome! I connected with a teacher who I’ve been studying with for two years. I have learned so much from her and we have a great time. She gives plenty of time to talk, learn new things and homework. The only thing I don’t like is the cashback program. After two years, I still haven’t figured out how to get the money I’ve accumulated. The steps are convoluted and seem unattainable. You have to become a “study buddy” which is nearly impossible. The cashback feature should not be associated with it. I can’t control how someone uses the app or have a desire to learn a new language. Only what I can do.

5. 5/5Teacher and Student

   I am both a tutor (English) and a student (Chinese) on Amazing Talker. I pretty much live on the platform now, and the App has been incredibly convenient. For the Matches, it is a swift response ready to go on the App. For replying to students, I have zero issue. You can also send documents and pictures with ease in the messages, like pdf books and homework pictures. It’s a good working App, very convenient, and it keeps you updated on any changes for your classes.
