   The Airtel app is a helpful tool for managing recharges and checking data usage in one place. I like how simple it is to pay utility bills and explore new offers or rewards directly from the home screen. However, there is still a lot of room for improvement when it comes to customer support and app stability. Sometimes it is hard to find a real person to talk to when issues come up and the app can feel a bit slow during payments. It is a good app for basic tasks but it needs to be more reliable for a better experience.

   Airtel gives a bad name to Corporations. They are a bunch of petty thugs. I live overseas and to keep my Airtel mobile number operational, I keep feeding my prepaid recharge money periodically to these deep wells of greed. Never a protest that my account has been deactivated or anything of the sort. So when I land in India, the only time I need this clown company, as sure as nightfall, the SIM never works. They keep taking my recharge money but deactivate the SIM! So there is the rigmarole again each time with providing passport and other documents to reactivate and of course money must be paid just for that privilege. I kept participating in that dance of money grabs. This time around, the Airtel branch characters around Kalighat in Kolkata danced to the same rehearsed tune. This time though it got more rogue. The only option, one guy I was not even talking to, arrives from the side and dictates that I must convert to their favorite postpaid system of control of the short hairs. The upshot being that when I go back to my home overseas, I will be under contract to pay the bandicoots some Rs. 850 every month, thanks for nothing! I got up and hissed out you know what curse under my breath. It is easy enough to abandon Airtel, good riddance to bad rubbish and get a second Jio SIM - a new one.

   I advice people to stop using Airtel Services they are criminals and and never tend to your problem. Even in this pandemic Airtel stole my money. When my digital tv account was suspended I recharged 200 and when I got home I realized the service didn’t come up and was still suspended and then I checked balance it was 145 instead of 200 and was wondering why. I tried calling their customer service all but to no avail. I went back and tip with 150 and then it came up. The balance on settings on tv was showing 350 but the balance on Airtel app was showing a lower amount. How on earth can the same account be showing different balance on phone and on tv. After one week they cut it off instead leaving it for about a week plus. They don’t even give you promotions. Even in this pandemic they still stole my money. I curse Airtel it will never be well with Airtel and I hope they run out of business. In times like this pandemic they are supposed to give customers free view or even do promotions instead they steal your money. Airtel is a criminal company and they are fraud sucking customer money I hate Airtel and I hope they crash and run out of business someday soon. Fraud telecommunication company

   This has to be the worse customer service ever in the world. Customer service here does not provide results to tour problems. They pass you on to the next person. I called customer service and was told to email my scanned visa. That in 4 hours my phone will work. The email said to take it to the store. When I did that they told me the system is down and been down for 4 days. No help there. I wrote again to Imran Momin and ended up getting an email from Roopa Krishnamurthy saying I’ve been disconnected and to start over. Like a new customer. I wrote back and asked about my post pay and if that is also closed. Instead of getting an answer. I got an email that said “request xxxxxx has been closed call customer service”. So it starts all over again. No answer to questions just the run around. How disappointing. I will take my service else where and tell friends that stormer care really don’t care. The airtel app is useless also. It’s only good if you pay your bills. That’s it! Can’t wait to delete that app. Customer care service is about the customer and taking care if the problems not give them the run around.

   This app is fundamentally broken in its design and customer experience. It works only via OTP. There is no password option, no proper account control, and no ability to log out of all active sessions. For something tied to billing and plan changes, that is an unacceptable level of security design. I tried converting from postpaid to prepaid. The in-app chat was completely useless. It could not handle a basic request like plan conversion. Calling customer service did not help either. They refused to process it over the phone and told me to visit a store. I am in the U.S., so I had to send my brother to the store. And here is where it gets absurd. The store insisted on sharing the Airtel Thanks login OTP just to process the conversion. Why does a retail store need the login OTP for an app account to convert a plan? That defeats the entire purpose of OTP-based security. To make matters worse, auto-payment had already been disrupted due to “server upgrades,” and inconsistent charges were being applied. I was effectively forced into completing the conversion just to stop the billing mess, and had to share the OTP because the system left no alternative. An app that handles billing and plan changes without password control, without proper session management, and that forces OTP sharing at a physical store is not secure. It is poorly designed. This is not just inconvenient. It is irresponsible. I don’t recommend Airtel to anyone. If you are moving outside and keeping your India number, please cover it to prepaid and to some another operator.
