  1. 1/5Please for the love of god fix “add border and share” to not fail every first export

I’ve been using this app for years and ever since they introduced this feature I’ve found it helpful, but every single time when I try to “add border and share” a photo which I have edited, it has a red “This photo could not be exported” error. I will regularly get 20+ of these errors which all have to be manually clicked away and block the bottom of the screen from me editing. If you then try to export again it works, but if then change anything in the edit again it will fail to export the first time like clockwork. On an ipad pro 13 inch with an m1 chip Another issue is that the caching strategy is way too aggressive, and photos that you just loaded off your camera will offload into the cloud within a few minutes, so you can’t even edit them without *re-downloading* the same file you just had on your ipad. There’s no way to choose which files are kept as cache or to delete things from local storage or anything like that, my lightroom takes up 40gb on my ipad but yet still every time I take files from my camera it runs into sync issues. There should be also be a “pause upload” button to make everything STAY on your device (e.g., on a road trip or somewhere with bad wifi) but be able to download photos which have been removed from your local cache. Editing should not be bottlenecked this hard by internet connection. I tried to find a way to get support directly for the app but I think this is probably the most direct way, you guys really need to fix this stuff. Please keep the key-bindings the same, lightroom desktop changed to some horrible scheme (z and x for flagging iirc, pick and unpick as p and u are so much nicer)

  2. 2/5Disappointing for travel photography

I spent a small fortune to get a souped-up iPad. I pay the monthly Adobe subscriptions. My goal was to have a no-laptop solution for travel photos. It actually worked for awhile, and was “almost there”: good enough to give it a try. But, after I invested the time to carefully design, test, and document my step-by-step workflow, it’s one year later and my data doesn’t come across properly any more using DNG exports to my desktop. My whole purpose with LR mobile is to invest some time in the field to cull (i.e., star rate) and do basic corrections and cropping. After 60 days of remote travel this year, I’ve returned home to find that the Star ratings don’t seem to export with the exported DNGs. Quickly picking out the “4s and 5s” to further edit takes forever. I see on the forums that this is a known problem, and that iCloud is the fix. Listen up, Adobe, using iCloud is completely unacceptable for travelers. More often than not I’m stuck with either horrible connectivity, or none at all. That’s not going to happen. Can you please fix the DNG export bug so I can re-export my 10k or so travel photos and import them to LR Classic on the desktop? Maybe in the future, a little less development money on AI features and a little more concentration on good old fashioned software QC?

  3. 1/5Frustrating and Disappointing if you are a professional photographer.

Lightroom mobile on the iPad is not for the professional photographer. Adobe really has dropped the ball with this app. I had a dream of editing everything on my 2tb iPad Pro m4, but it’s impossible and frustrating. I switched from my legacy adobe cloud 20gb plan to the 1tb plan, and that was also a big mistake. There is no way i could edit a wedding or a day’s worth of wildlife photos from one of the trips that i lead on Lightroom mobile for the IPad. First, good luck getting all of the photos imported. Second, the app is unreliable, even after importing and having the album stored locally, there is always issues. Nothing worse than being out in the bush wanting to edit photos on your iPad and you can’t because Lightroom mobile did not save your photos correctly and due to the lack of the internet, you can’t access the photos or your presets. Noise reduction is pretty terrible on the iPad as well. The phone version of Lightroom is better than the iPad. Adobe should abandon Lightroom mobile for the iPad and make a “classic” version where one can import their catalog and photos and not really on adobes unstable and slow cloud for edits. Adobe Lightroom mobile is not for the professional photographer, it may work for the casual user who just wants basic editing. Save your time and money and just stick with your MacBook.

  4. 1/515 Photo Export Max? What the...

I downloaded Lightroom mobile as I’m really wanting to move away from desktop and laptop editing, and LR Mobile seemed promising. I LOVE the UI and functionality of this app, and can do about 95% of the work I need to right from my iPad Pro, and I was actually a bit blown away by its speed and capabilities. Then I went to export about 100 photos I had taken with my Panasonic G9 and edited in Lightroom Mobile. I thought the iPad was glitching, or I had toggled a setting that I didn’t know about, because I wasn’t able to export more than 15 photos at a time. After doing a bit of digging I’ve found that this is done on purpose. The reason being that Lightroom isn’t able to render in the background, but that doesn’t make any sense as I’m sure we’re all more than willing to leave the app open and running in the foreground until the export is complete. This is a preposterous number of images to export at one time. Give us at least 100 images, as we could work with that limitation; but only 15? That quite literally renders this entire app, and all the hard work these developers put into it, totally useless. A 5 star app turned to a 1 star app due to a major oversight. I’ll most likely be looking for ways of leaving Adobe after about 15 years of exclusively using their products, if they don’t get their $#!+ together asap. FIX THIS RIDICULOUS LIMITATION ADOBE, PLEASE!

  5. 2/5Nice editor,but...don’t buy Premium!

This is a fine editor for photos on the iPad, in fact I liked it enough that I thought I might try working on my pro camera raw photos via Adobe Cloud while traveling. However, my Adobe Cloud account (arranged by my employer) only has 2GB max, which is very limited. When this LR CC mobile app prompted me to buy the Premium version, offering additional Adobe Cloud storage, I jumped on it. But after trying it out, I found that my Adobe Cloud storage was still capped at 2GB. Trying to get help, I was diverted to unrelated Adobe help forum topics. And when I tried to talk to Adobe directly, they told me I had to go through my employer...even through this premium upgrade was a purchase I made out of my own pocket, under the stated promise that it would include additional cloud storage. I feel like I was ripped off, and I would demand my money back but my time is more valuable than the amount I paid. I guess I will just have to find another solution, but there aren’t many options. The market is dominated by a few mega-corporations who don’t care about serving their customers, they do everything they can to prevent us from getting help when needed, and they always err on the side of denying us the product we thought we were entitled to when making the purchase.
