4/5Good But Could Be Great
There are many features of this ap that I am grateful for, but the one feature that I do not like is the portrait-only display mode. Especially for a walk that runs east to west, it would be so helpful to have the ability to view the map in landscape mode. Also, it would be helpful to have a way to contact the developer directly to make this suggestion.

3/5Was working well until last update.
I can only assume am update happened that removed one of the most useful features. There used to be countdown of distances to Santiago on the towns on the map. Then you could easily scan ahead to determine which towns are in your walking distance with accommodation. Now you have to flip to the list to see distances but this still does not show the countdown distance. The sample images of the app still show this feature but if it’s now gone. Please return this valuable feature. I have also found several routes not displayed, even routes that have camino signs and arrows.

1/5Lot of Potential, Unrealized
It's only $2 but not worth it. Map does not work offline. Need internet connection. Map is practically unusable with the annoying icons covering everything. Can't customize what you want to see. Map moves to some central location every time you access and then have to hunt around for your current location. Should have the ability to go straight to current location. Should have incorporated elevation and map into a single screen. I've switched back to using downloaded tracks on Pocket Earth for navigation and Consumer Eroski for elevations, lodging and commentary.

4/5Route tracking
The app does well showing the path and tracking progress, however the Camino symbol nearly always disappears or loses direction of actual travel. A reboot reorients the symbol, but only temporarily.

5/5Saved our bacon!
This app got my Camino group around the Norte from Gijon to Santiago like a charm. I praised it every day!

Big update for the start of Summer. As more and more albergues are adopting rest days of their own, I have improved the notice that appears. It will not warn you if the albergue is closed today or tomorrow.
-
5.8.12
Minor update to albergue information, and more improvements for dark mode users.
-

The first major update of the year, this version includes updated pricing and opening seasons. Under the hood are several performance changes, with a thorough rewrite of the code to make sure that all devices are working properly. AND it introduces a new feature which allows pilgrims to inform 'El Sabio, the Wise Pilgrim Bot' about the status of albergues, so you can help your fellow pilgrims to know what albergues are full.

6.2.0
Now with SES Peregrino integration for accommodation guest registration. This is the biggest update in the history of the app, a complete rebuild from the ground up. New Dashboard The app now opens to a new dashboard layout designed to get you to the information you need, faster. Yellow X Returns Long-time users might remember Yellow X, a geolocation toolkit I built about a decade ago. I've brought back its best features and rolled them into All Caminos. Now you can see exactly how far you are from the next town or the nearest albergue. Dynamic Elevation Profile Completely reimagined—tap anywhere to see distances to points along your route. See where you are on the profile in real time. Improved Maps More interactive, more informative, more helpful when you're standing at a fork in the path. More Routes The alternate Norte-Primitivo crossing is included. Smarter Updates Over-the-air updates now only download what's changed. No more full app downloads just because I fixed a typo. Offline Map Tiles Much improved, and available for all routes. Every screen, every feature, every detail has been rethought and reworked. ¡Buen Camino!

New: Notes. Leave yourself a note on any town, albergue, or stop on the route, or drop a pin on the map — water, viewpoints, photo spots, places you want to return to. They gather on one page in order along the Camino, ready to search and export, and stay private on your phone. And if you spot a price change or a closure, you can now report it to me right from the listing. Buen Camino. — Michael

6.2.12
This release brings the map to life. Tap the new Layers button for points of interest — churches, monuments and castles from Wikipedia, plus drinking fountains, viewpoints, ruins, picnic areas and pharmacies along your route, each with its own info card. I've redrawn every map pin for a cleaner look, pilgrim comments now appear in your language wherever I have a translation, and the map no longer snaps back to your location while you look ahead. Buen Camino.

A new Wildfire Map. Tap the Layers button and switch on Wildfires to see active fires across Spain and Portugal — updated daily from the EU's Copernicus fire service — plus this season's burnt areas along your route. I've also refreshed the route tracks with cleaner elevation profiles and a few corrections, updated a number of albergues with the latest information I have, and fixed a few bugs along the way. Buen Camino.

6.2.15
A big update this time around. New on the map: a 6th style — 3D — to help you get your bearings in the bigger cities. And every map style now responds to a two-finger tilt, so you can lean the map back and look off into the distance to see what's ahead. If you plan with the itinerary, there's a lot here for you: - Dates are now supported, including multi-night stays in the same town. - The stage banners at the start and end of each day tell you far more now. - Notes you add in the online planner come along for the ride — they import straight into the app. - City pages now show what you've booked, whether it's confirmed, and how you booked it. - The map can walk you through your itinerary one stage at a time. And the route page handles those long lists better — it trims itself at your starting point, with an easy tap to bring the earlier places back whenever you want them.

Fixed map arrow direction on iOS. Restored language picker in Settings. Distance numbers now use your locale's decimal separator.

Some of you opened the offline map and found... an empty world. The markers had wandered off on certain devices. I rounded them up, gave them a stern talking-to, and pinned them back where they belong. Your offline map is properly populated again. Plus a fix for pilgrims counting in miles — distances now read right across all screens.

Heads-up for early June: several Xunta (regional) albergues close for a single day each between 1–12 June for maintenance. The app now flags every affected albergue with the exact date, so you can plan around it. Offline maps refreshed — if you use them, open Settings and re-download to get the latest. Buen Camino!

You can now share your Camino with other pilgrims — send your itinerary and notes by QR code or file, and import theirs just as easily. You can also back up your plan and notes to a file, so they're safe if you change phones. Thanks for walking with Wise Pilgrim. Buen Camino!
