1. 5/5Flawless app with best CX

   This app has the best customer experience I have come across. The ease of use is almost incomprehensible. Everything gets done quickly and smoothly; the app is meticulously designed, deliberate, simple, and leaves a distinct emotional imprint with its UX. The experience has been so good that I cancelled the account I opened with another prestigious (one of the largest and most reputable) banks in the UAE. Hats off to the Wio team! They really nailed it.

2. 1/5Disputing transactions not possible - be careful or you will lose your money

   Missing BASIC functionality like filtering or exporting transactions to excel! I have also tried to initiate a transaction dispute but WIO will not allow it without certain information from the merchant - which is not replying via email. Any other bank will allow you to initiate a dispute when needed.

3. 1/5Transfer fees hidden

   I liked the app but they hide the amount you will pay as the correspondent bank fee for some transfers. If the amount is greater than $1k you’ll pay $25 to the correspondent bank fee (citi bank which I believe is their partner). They do note that on their website but in the app they tell it’s 0 fee. Support won’t tell you either until you find out yourself.

4. 3/5Great but bloated

   Super quick and easy but hugely annoying to not be able to (permanently) remove the annoying buttons for “Family”, “Investments” etc. that are utterly inapplicable. Constant reminders for personal loans etc are also frustrating. The lack of ability to customise the interface (just add/remove functions) is poor UX design, and the “cards” button seems to have vanished in the latest update.

5. 1/5Extremely Disappointing Experience – Account Frozen Without Explanation

   I had been using Wio Bank for almost a year with absolutely no issues and genuinely enjoyed how simple and convenient the app was. Unfortunately, all of that changed about a month ago when my account was suddenly frozen without any explanation. Since then, I’ve called customer support five separate times, and every single time I receive the same vague response: “Sorry, we are investigating.” No one can tell me why my account is frozen, what triggered it, or when it will be resolved. I can’t use my card, I can’t send money, and I’m left completely in the dark. The only time I received any written response from them was after filing a complaint with the Central Bank. Even then, their reply was just another generic “we are working on it.” At least the Central Bank informed me that I should expect a response within 30 business days, which is apparently the timeframe Wio has been given to fix the issue — but it’s extremely frustrating that the bank itself provided no clarity at all. For a digital bank that promotes convenience and transparency, this experience has been the complete opposite. Having your money locked with no explanation and no timeline is incredibly stressful. I can no longer recommend Wio Bank based on what I’ve gone through.
