1. 5/5WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD WITH WESTERN UNION

   I sent money many times with this service and never had an issue but this time when I really needed them they were TERRIBLE!!! I was literally on the phone for 6-8 hours talking to one person or the next trying to prove it wasn’t a fraudulent or scam, proving who I was, my relationship to the receiver, etc. Then after getting my transaction cancelled TWICE, I FINALLY (or so I thought) got through only for my significant other to go all the way up to the place to find out that it was cancelled. AFTER I HAD ALREADY GOT CONFORMATION ON THE PHONE AND EMAIL that it was processed. Now, because they’re is a pandemic they’re refund center is closed and it’ll take 48 hours to refund my money back to me. This has been the single worst experience with them I’ve ever had and will NEVER be using them AGAIN. After all this all try could offer me was platitudes in they way of a not even convincing “I’m sorry” I was even hung up on multiple times! I REALLY hate to say it, but it seems as though WESTERN UNION IS NOT SENSITIVE TO AND INFACT FROM MY EXPERIENCE THEY ARE PREJUDICIAL TO CERTAIN COUNTRIES AND TOWARD PEOPLE OF COLOR. I’m almost certain that if I was sending money to a predominately WHITE country they would have accused me or by partner of attempted SCAMMING!!!!!!!! This is SHAMEFUL AND A DOWNRIGHT OUTRAGE. I EXPRESSED IT TO THE PERISN I WAS TALKING TO AND GOT HUNG UP ON!!! This is NOT OVER!!!!!😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

2. 2/5App & website are frustrating!!

   I used this app to try and pay a couple of bills in Mexico. At first it seemed to work but kept giving me an error ‘technical problem try again later ( C9999) I called customer service and was told to shut my phone down and reopen app. I followed their instructions and it still have me the same error, I went straight to their website and it did the same thing and the same error message. Called their customer service again and they said to clear the history in my browser, did that and after about 10- 12 attempts it finally went through. Did I mention a had to pay two bills from Mexico? I tried to pay the other bill through the app since it seemed I was having some luck. I entered all the info and that error message came back, I jumped back to the app and nothing. I walked away because the frustration was getting to me, I decided to just try the following day , after many many attempts on both the app and website it finally let me pay the second bill.....sucesss right? Well I’m back trying to pay those bills again and the same error pops up but this time I have tried for days!!! And all I get is the error message. I called their customer service and I was transferred a few times because they said that I must be wrong because they don’t offer the service to pay bills from Mexico, that they haven’t heard of that being a service they offer....what the??? I had just used it and it’s all over the internet and their website!!! I wish someone could tell me when this bug will be fixed so I can use the service that is advertised... I need some help here .

3. 1/5Error msg creates duplicate debits

   Lesson here is, if you receive an error message while trying to pay the transfer through your apple wallet, just cancel out of the transaction all the way out and don’t re-attempt because it will debit your hard earned money TWICE! And WU will not help you get your money back. I’ve had situation where I’m processing the payment from my apple wallet and received an error message saying my transaction did not go through and it keeps me with on the open wallet screen and when I retried to post through my wallet and I finally got to the next screen where I’m provide the MTCN digits to track my transfer. So I’m thinking I should have only been debited from my account once but then when I go to my western union history, I now have 2 transactions and when I check my bank account, I’m in fact debited twice. Even though both transactions where placed on hold and I called and to make sure only one of them goes through, I was re-assured that my duplicate transaction that was caused by an app error/glitch, I later in the day receive an email saying that the duplicate transaction that I was reassured by 4 different people from western union would be cancelled had gone through. I called again to see why I was received the email saying that the error transaction that I was assured would be cancelled. And I’m getting so much push back and again that it was my fault and that I didn’t provide the correct MTCN number to cancel, even though they were on “hold” status. And basically they are saying that there’s nothing they can do because it’s on me.

4. 1/5UNBELIEVABLY FRUSTRATING!!

   This is by far the worst experience I have ever had trying to send money… I tried to send $500 to my sister because she needed money for school clothes and supplies for my three nieces. I put all my information in and hit confirm to send. I then got a message saying I needed to verify some things, so I added my drivers license and everything they needed. I got a message saying “your transfer is under review this usually takes 30 minutes blah blah blah” a whole day goes by and it still said the same thing. It wouldn’t even let me try to send another one unless I canceled the first one!! Ok my sister really needs the money at this point so I cancel and try again. I GET THE SAME MESSAGE about the 30 min crap. I’m worried if I cancel it again and try to send a new transfer that i might mess something up. Another day goes by and nothing. I finally just went ahead and used a different platform but this is absolutely ridiculous!! The sole purpose of this app is to be able to transfer money so I’m really just confused and highly upset that I wasn’t able to and not only that there was no clear reason as to why it was happening I never got an email or anything. A complete waist of time and my sister had to wait almost a week and go buy school supplies the night before the first day of school because of this. I Will NEVER use WU again ever! Deleted the app and not looking back! ✌🏼

5. 1/5Racist and worse payment app ever

   Western Union pretends to send money worldwide but are a bunch of wicked people who are deceiving the world. When you used their services, everything worked well when you are sending money in America and to Europe. But when you choose to send money to west Africa, centre Africa or to some African countries like Nigeria and Cameroon, their services stops working immediately. They canceled the money you are sending to these countries without any prior complaints or theft concerns. They will charge your credit card and will refuse to send your money to any of these countries. Regardless of the urgency, western union will take your money from your credit card and promise to refund it in 7 business days and will not send your money because you either choose a black country in Africa. Even when you explained to them that the money is for hospitals bills, they won’t let you send and they will hold the money for 7 business days. They have a female correspondent who speaks like a Mexican, no matter how clean your transaction is, she will cancel your payment because you are sending it to Africa. She is the worst customer service person to ever work in this position and we don’t know why she is still there, despite public outrage and numerous complaints. My advice is when sending money to any African country, don’t use western union and WorldRemit, they will never approve your payment.
