   UPDATE: I changed my review to 5 Star. Even though I am unhappy with having to pay $20 a year after I already paid for Pro, this is a really good app! I wish the fonts was bigger on the 7 day forecast so I hope that is fixed soon. The ability to save the animated icons don’t work with switched to Instagram. UpDATE: Developers don’t care if you paid for the previous Pro version. They want more money for new revision. Previous users should be grandfathered in. The new version icons are so small barely can see. I have been a Pro user of InstaWeather for years and now the app is changed to a different name and I had to pay again?!?! I should not have to pay $20 a year when I paid for Pro already. Also, the forecast options are missing on this new version.

2. 1/5Greedy app developers make paid for apps unusable.

   8/8/21 update: Still a terrible app and thieves. Don’t give them any money, they will. It deliver what they promise. Zero stars. Original review: Terrible app. There are so many better weather apps. Don’t pay them money, they will take it then disable the app. I purchased the WeatherShotPro app years ago to use the app without watermarks. For awhile now I noticed the app was no longer working even though I paid for it. When I reached out to find out the issue, they developers asked enough questions (including proof i paid for the pro app) but the only answer they could provide me was they converted the pro app to a subscription based model. They had no recourse for my paid app to work and told me instead pay the subscription to get the features I already paid for. This is simply a money grab and the 5-star app I purchased is now worth zero stars. I asked them to give me a free subscription or refund the money I paid them before. Their response was they couldn’t do any of that. Beware of these crooks. Don’t download, let alone PAY for any app they create. Not worth it. Zero stars! Response to developer: I’m sorry but that isn’t true. The app I have is called actually called WeatherShotPro which should be the pro version of whatever app you have put there now. Admit you designed a busted app and refused to grandfather me I to the “new” app because you now want to charge a subscription instead of a one time price. I sent you screenshots of what I purchased and you refuse to uphold your end of the deal. Zero stars. 2nd response to developer: I never purchased any app called Instaweather. I sent you a screenshot so stop with the lies. The app I purchased was WeatherShotPro, the same name as the app you have up now, so I should still have access to what I paid for. Byss Mobile is a rip off and all their apps should be rated zero stars. Zero stars! Zero stars! Zero stars!!!

3. 5/5Hasn’t Worked Properly Since 16.4 iOS Update

   When it works this is a wonderful app, but they charge premium price for an app that is very buggy & they are slow to support. Multi-location weather skins don’t work. My paid subscription stops working after a month EVERY YEAR & customer service is VERY slow to do anything about it. Had to get a refund from Apple, then reinstall and pay AGAIN. Will give this 5 stars if they ever fix it. For now, it’s $40 down the drain.

4. 3/5End of an Era

   I am deleting the WeatherShot app after years of being a member. The earliest picture I could find in my storage using the app was 2014, and I’ve been a paid member since that option came out. I used the same overlay style 99.5% of the time, sometimes posted pics to the community but mostly shared them with my family, on my Instagram, or used them on my MapMyRun cover photos. I enjoyed the badges but they weren’t a huge motivation for me. When the price increase recently came up, I decided that, to me, $40 a year was just too much. I thought I’d stay on as free user, though, and maybe re-evaluate after a while. Today, I went in to take an evening photo. First screen, that annoying “join and pay!” screen. Okay, that’s fine, I knew I’d see that kind of thing if I let my subscription lapse. But then…that ONE overlay that I use, pretty much the ONLY one I use? Available only to members. My heart broke a little bit as I stood there on my walk, contemplating if that one overlay was worth $40 a year, when I don’t really utilize any of the other paid features. And my conclusion was…No. I don’t usually write reviews, and I was tempted to just delete the app quietly and move on, but since I’ve been with you for so long, I thought it was only fair to let you know why I’m leaving. Thank you for a great app, but the cost is just too much for me. You might consider tiers of subscription, perhaps. I would have gladly kept on paying $20 annually for say, “use the ten most popular overlays” without getting all the other perks. So, WeatherShot, I supported you for a good long time, but now it’s time to part ways. Best of luck to you going forward, and I hope that those who do use more aspects of the app, the stickers and community and so forth that I never really got into, will continue to support your efforts.

5. 2/5Can't use camera roll photo

   We're supposed to be able to use camera roll photos, but every time I try to use one, the date, time, and temp defaults to where and when the photo was taken. So I'm trying to use a pic from a few months ago, and it says Wednesday 3pm 80F when it's Thursday 8am and 60F. I keep trying to change it but it won't change to the current time and date and temp. I like this app, but I can't go run outside and take pics just to get the most current and accurate info. I'm in FL. It doesn't matter if my palm tree pic is from today or last month. All seasons look the same! Is this a bug or am I just not able to use camera roll photos as pics for my current weather pic? ;(
