  1. 5/5Brilliant

Trackers Forever. Extraordinarily well thought out, moves the trad workflow into a fluid touch app future. Radial menus, AUv3, sample chopping etc etc. Top of the platform.

  • 2.0

WBTRK 2.0 is a big one: • SAMPLER: record, trim, normalize, loop and beat-chop samples into playable slices • AUv3 hosting: play your installed instrument plug-ins from the sequencer • MIDI in/out with step & live recording, plus MIDI clock for hardware • New MODX dual-oscillator engine with a 4-LFO mod matrix, wavetable draw editor • New effects: tempo-synced gate & autopan, retrigger, chorus, RANDOM dice, per-channel tempo • Per-instrument swing and scale lock, chord picker, radial wheel editor • iPad support, hex numbers option, 26 themes + theme editor, new app icon • Longer demo song, autosave, undo everywhere, and a large stability pass

Your tracker learned to sing! NEW ENGINES • SPEECH — a talking, singing robot. 56-word bank, four voices, TALK mode (notes pick words) and SING mode with the new LYRICS setting: one note column picks the word, the next carries the melody. Hold a syllable across notes for true melisma. • GRAIN — a granular cloud over any recording: size, density, spray, scan, per-grain pitch. Nine presets from Geiger-counter glitch to frozen drones. • MODAL — struck-resonator percussion: marimba, vibraphone, kalimba, bells, steel pan and more, with structure/brightness/ring/strike controls.

IPAD • The interface now fills the whole screen (no more phone-sized column) • The SONG page shows 32 rows at once — half the song on one screen • The radial wheel works correctly in landscape PLUG-INS (AUv3) • Songs remember their plug-ins: a saved song now reloads the plug-in AND the exact sound you dialed inside its own screen • Plug-in notes are sample-accurate with the built-in voices (they used to fire early) • Plug-ins follow the song's tempo and transport — arpeggiators and synced effects stay in time • A crashed plug-in is detected and reloaded automatically • Mute, solo and faders now also control plug-in channels and what goes out over MIDI PLAYING & TIMING • On PHR/CHA, stepping to another phrase or chain while playing now switches at the loop — classic tracker pattern queueing • On the SONG page, play starts from the selected row • The top bar shows the tempo actually playing — watch it surge and settle through the demo • Tempo changes now land exactly at any bpm (non-integer offsets used to be swallowed) • RETRIG no longer nudges other channels' notes late • MIDI clock out is timestamped — external gear locks rock-steady • Live playback and rendered WAVs now match exactly DEMO SONG • The demo grew into a full tour: 14 engines, all 28 effects, tables, the RANDOM dice, a real amen-style break at 144 — and a two-voice duet chorus FIXED & SAFER • Instrument previews start clean — no leftover song delay/pan/tables • "Render WAV" handles very long and endlessly looping songs gracefully • Unplugging headphones pauses playback instead of switching to the speaker • The panic button now also silences plug-ins and external MIDI gear • Your work autosaves seconds after every edit (not only when leaving the app) • Open .wbtrk songs straight from Files/AirDrop — and your projects are now visible in the Files app for backup • Better recovery from phone calls, Siri and audio-system resets — plus many smaller fixes
