  1. 5/5Next level

This has been such a fun addition to our first grade baseball team. I used to think it was silly and not worth all the coordination, but then we got this app and it’s been so fun and given the boys confidence heading up to the plate. It’s been really easy to use. Even when we make last-minute changes to the lineup and batting order, I have a mom on the sideline that does a great job of keeping it up and running. Thanks for making it fun and easy!!

  2. 5/5Everything and more!

Everything you could want in a Walk-Up song app, this app has! So well thought out, and better than its major competitor because announcer voices are FREE! Clean, modern graphics, tells you who’s up to bat, on deck, and in the hole. So happy this was created, and made my job as team DJ a million times easier!

  3. 5/5Not just for baseball

This app is amazing! While it’s clearly perfect for baseball (or tee ball in my daughter’s case), I’ve been using it for other reasons too. Want to make an awesome entrance at a party? Use this app to hype it up. Just knocked out my wife’s honey-do list and want to showboat? Use this app to hype it up. Want to spice up a boring work meeting? Use this app to hype it up!

  4. 5/5Best of these apps

I’ve tried several of these apps for fun and they were all pretty clunky. This one was really easy to use and did everything I needed it to do. Don’t waste time on the others - start with this one.

    Hodor?Hodor · 7 Aug 2026

  5. 5/5Great music, easy simple to use

Grandson likes using the app as well as his team mates and said “it’s so cool” I think from what he said it’s easier to use.

Song Timing Improvements The "Play for" setting now means exactly what it says — how long the song plays after the announcement ends. Previously, the announcement time was being counted against this, so a 15-second setting would only deliver a few seconds of music. That's fixed. The song start time slider now supports songs longer than 4 minutes. Free Bird fans, you're covered. Better Song Preview The Preview button on the player setup screen now plays and fades out exactly as the song will sound in game mode — same duration, same gradual fade. What you hear in preview is what you'll hear at the plate. The Preview Walk-Up button (voice + music together) also now matches game mode timing precisely.

  • 1.0.5

Big update this season — we've been busy. Walk-Up Hype Picks The biggest addition: six curated walk-up song playlists built right into the song picker. Pump Up Hits, Walk-Up Classics, Hip-Hop Bangers, Rock Anthems, Hype Queens, and Just For Laughs. Every song has the best moment already cued up — no more fiddling with the start time slider at the field. Just tap, pick, and play. Parent and Coach Easy Mode: Unlocked. Smarter Song Search Search now shows artist results alongside songs. Tap an artist to see their top tracks and pick directly from there — no more typing the full song title when you can just find the artist first. Pronunciation Help If the announcer mispronounces a player's name, there's now a tip right on the player edit screen explaining how to spell it phonetically to get it right. A more powerful pronunciation override is coming in a future update. Bug Fixes Walk-up song rows are now tappable anywhere on the row, not just on the text.

  • 1.0.6

We hear you — game day is loud and chaotic. This update makes it unmistakably clear when a walk-up is live. The active player card now lights up with a bold ON AIR signal, a pulsing border, and a warm card glow. Your phone also pulses in your hand every few seconds so you can feel the announcement running without looking at the screen. Stay tuned - we're just getting started.

  • 1.0.7

Free mode just got even better and the announcer just got a lot smarter. More room for your roster — free teams now hold up to 12 players. Ever had the announcer mangle a kid's name? Now you can fix it. Open any player, tap "Announcer mispronouncing?" and type how it actually sounds. The AI learns it. The kid hears it right. First time, every time. Pronunciation hints travel with your roster when you share via QR code.

  • 1.0.8

We're officially ready for Mother's Day walk-up songs...but your players may wish we weren't. Meet Squeaky Sam - A new premium voice has entered the dugout. Pure cartoon chaos. Siblings will request this one by name. Moms will want this for their next Reel. Duplicate a team - Long-press any team to copy it with all players, songs, and settings intact. Perfect for coaches running multiple squads, or for cloning your roster and swapping everyone to Squeaky Sam and some embarrassing/silly songs for Mother's Day without losing your normal walk up songs. Plus lots of minor bug fixes and improvements that we thought about so you won't ever have to.

  • 1.0.9

Improved walk-up presets — Play Duration presets have been tuned based on real game feedback. Standard is now 10 seconds, with options from 8 to 20. Your songs hit just right and you get way less dirty looks from umpires. Smoother game mode — Fixed a cosmetic issue where the button briefly flashed "Generating" even when your announcements were already cached and ready to go.

  • 1.1

SAM SHOWS UP READY. Squeaky Sam now opens every walk-up with one of 20 silly intros — random every at-bat, never the same twice. Plus: - Improved Apple Music hiccup detection. - Bigger live playback counter so you can read it from the third base box. - Faster rating prompt for coaches and parents who love the app - one tap from Settings. Keep the feedback coming. We read every word.

  • 1.1.1

We know you love our AI announcers, but some umpires might not. You can now disable the announcer entirely in Team Settings and let the music do the talking. Game mode will give you a heads up when it's off so you never wonder why your announcing crew went off the air. We also squashed some bugs behind the scenes so you can stay focused on the game. Keep the feedback coming. We read every word.

  • 1.1.2

Our curated playlists have always used the clean portions of songs - now you can take it a step further with a setting to filter explicit tracks out of search results entirely. Because not every 8-year-old needs to walk up to the unedited version. We know not every dugout has great Wi-Fi. This update makes Walk-Up Hype smarter about music playback hiccups - if a walk-up song doesn't start when it should, the app now detects it and keeps the game moving instead of leaving you with awkward silence. We also squashed a few more bugs behind the scenes so you can stay focused on the game.

  • 1.1.3

Ringside Randy has a new voice - bigger, bolder, and ready to bring the drama. We also fixed a timing issue where announcer voices were running phrases together without pauses. Every voice now hits each phrase with the weight it deserves: "Now batting... number ten... playing shortstop... Daniel Skywalker!"

  • 1.1.4

We fixed two bugs in this update. First, a crash that could happen when previewing a player's song start time -- specifically when Apple Music was in an inconsistent state. It was rare, but if it hit you, the app went down hard. That's gone. Second, a "snap loud" glitch where the volume would spike for a split second after a player's walk-up song faded out. If you were using certain brands of Bluetooth speakers, you definitely heard it. (But not anymore!) Your game-day experience really matters to us. Most of you never hit either of these bugs, but now we know they won't ever impact your kid's big moment.

  • 1.1.5

Better feedback when Apple Music isn't available, so you always know what's happening and why. Under the hood: analytics to help us understand how the app is being used and improve it over time. No personal data collected.

  • 1.1.6

Bug fixes and improvements: - Fixed a bug where the close button on the premium screen wouldn't respond right away -- tap it and it works, every time - The close button is now actually visible (whoops) - We only ask for a review after a real game session now, not after 2 batters. If you're loving Walk-Up Hype, reviews really do make a difference for a one-dad operation like this one.

  • 1.1.7

Version 1.1.7 Walk-Up Hype got a proper first impression. This update completely rebuilds the onboarding experience so new users hear their player announced before they've done a single thing. New onboarding flow First-time users now get the full experience immediately. Enter your player's name, tap a button, and hear them announced by a real PA voice before you've set up anything. Cycle through multiple voices, hear them again, then decide whether to start free or try premium. This also simplifies the Apple Music permissions to reduce accidentally dismissing it so that your players get their song every time. Reliability and layout fixes The app now detects and retries rare bad audio generations automatically. --- Walk-Up Hype is a one-person operation built by a baseball dad for baseball families. If it's made a player's walk-up moment more exciting, an App Store review makes a real difference - it's the best way to help other teams find it.

  • 1.1.8

Bug fixes and improvements that we added so you don't ever have to worry about them. If Walk-Up Hype is bringing energy to your dugout, leaving a review means the world to a 1-dad baseball operation.

  • 1.1.9

  • 1.2.0

Game Mode got a serious tune-up this update. Switching tabs mid-game no longer cuts the walk-up announcement short - your announcer will finish the whole thing even if you wander over to Settings to fiddle with something. The between-innings Play button also won't step on an active walk-up anymore. And a few edge cases around rapid taps got cleaned up so the lineup behaves exactly like you'd expect at game speed. If Walk-Up Hype has been a hit in your dugout, we'd love a rating in the App Store - it genuinely helps more coaches find us. Thanks for being here.

  • 1.2.2

Play your own music files You can now use MP3s and other songs stored on your iPhone as walk-up songs. Find them under the "My Library" tab in the song picker. Better free voice options Minor League Mike is easier to find and sounds way better than Baseball Bot 3000. Look for the gold banner in Settings > Voices. Loving Walk-Up Hype? • 1.2.3

It makes a huge difference for a small app like this. Thank you for being part of it.

Collect Songs from Parents Share one link in the group text. Parents pick a walk-up song, set a start time, and tell the announcer how to say their kid’s name. You review everything before game day. • Preview submitted songs with a timed fade, just like game mode • Adjust start times before approving • Reject or approve individually, or approve the whole batch at once • Smart player matching updates existing roster entries automatically • Songs removed from Apple Music are caught before game day with replacement suggestions Also in this update: light mode polish, better pull-to-refresh, and a heads-up banner if your device doesn’t have an Apple Music subscription. If you're loving Walk-Up Hype, please take a moment to leave a rating in the App Store. It makes a huge difference for a small app like this.

  • 1.4.0

Walk-Up Hype now feels at home on iPad. We rebuilt the entire experience for the bigger screen — this isn't a stretched phone app anymore. • Game Mode, side by side - On iPad, run your lineup and the now-playing player together on one screen. No more tab-switching between the batting order and the music. • Landscape, finally - Prop your iPad on the dugout fence and go wide. Every screen adapts to portrait or landscape. • A real iPad layout, everywhere - Your roster, the announcer voices, and the parent review queue now use multi-column grids that fill the screen instead of a narrow strip down the middle. • Roster sharing & parent picks, supersized - The QR share sheet and the Collect Songs review board are built for the room you have on iPad. Also in this update: • Fixed a curated-playlist start time that could be lost when you switched a player to a manual song. • Fixed a header that could get cut off on the Share Roster screen. One app, the whole game - now on every screen you bring to the field. If you're loving Walk-Up Hype, please take a moment to leave a rating in the App Store. It makes a huge difference for a small app like this.

  • 1.4.1

Fixed an issue where walk-up previews and playback could stall silently after a brief Apple Music hiccup, with no clear sign of what went wrong. Now if the music runs into trouble, it fails gracefully and the game keeps moving. Smaller reliability improvements under the hood based on real game day feedback. Keep the feedback coming. We read every word.

  • 1.4.2

    - Leaving a rating now opens the App Store review page reliably. - Fixed the premium welcome screen showing the wrong voice count (it's six!). - Game-day audio reliability improvements — better handling when Apple Music has trouble, so your lineup always keeps moving.

  • 1.4.3 · 22 Jul 2026

Game day audio just got more reliable. Fixed an issue where a walk-up could sit silent for 15 to 20 seconds when Apple Music hit a snag. The lineup now moves on right away. Clearer messages when a song can't play, with better guidance when you're offline at the field. Smarter handling of slow Apple Music starts, so working songs don't get cut off by mistake.
