  1. 5/5Great potential, but the UI needs a major overhaul

    > I really want VidHub to be my main media player, but the UI needs some serious polishing to compete with apps like Infuse. Please note that **all the feedback below applies equally to both the Mac and iOS versions:** > **1. Better Screen Space Utilization:** The poster icons are currently too large, which is especially noticeable on the Mac. If you reduce their size, the screen could easily fit an extra row of content, making browsing much more efficient on both desktop and mobile. > **2. Apple Native Design Language:** The UI feels a bit rigid. Please adopt Apple’s modern design language by adding smoother, more pronounced rounded corners to posters and interface elements so it feels like a native macOS/iOS app. > **3. UI Vibrancy:** The overall look of the app feels a bit "pale" and washed out. Enhancing the contrast and making the interface brighter and more vibrant would significantly improve the visual experience across all Apple devices. > **4. Advanced Media Info:** When opening a movie or show, the details page lacks crucial technical info. It would be amazing to see deeper file details like exact bitrate, frame rate, audio codecs, etc., right under the description on both platforms. > **5. Volume Boost Feature:** Currently, the volume maxes out at 100%. Please add an Audio Boost feature (like up to 200%) to increase the volume for quieter media files. > You have a solid core app, but these UI and quality-of-life improvements on both Mac and iPhone would take VidHub to the next level. Looking forward to future updates!

  2. 5/5Good alternative to Infuse

I mainly use Infuse as a client of my Jellyfin server and VidHub replaces it pretty well plus it comes with a better gesture control in the player. However there is still some bug and missing features which I hope will get fixed soon. Once a video is marked as favorite, I can no longer undo it. I cannot create playlists or adding/removing videos to/from a playlist either, which is one of the very few ways to edit the library from mobile platform. Also, hopefully Jellyfin can be further integrated into this app, like another media source like the local library for instance, so I can search/navigate through the videos more easily.

  3. 4/5Powerful player

Infuse support for jellyfin has gotten so bad that I had to find something else. VidHub is awesome for that, very fast and snappy interacting with the media server, and I love how feature rich the player is - some stuff like the hold to speed up is genuinely progress and brilliant. The most glaring missing feature is picture in picture on iPad, but you can still play videos in the background audio only. Personally I’d like the option to default to my media server since I only use that and no SMB shares, would save a few clicks on startup. Will definitely do 5 stars if PiP is added. And please don’t remove any of the nerdy features in the player like bitrate and screenshot button to be more “user friendly”, it’s so awesome how it is and plenty intuitive.

  4. 5/5Switched from nplayer

Very few complaints about this, does everything you need it to and then some. The little things make a big difference; like being able to swap between different subs and audio files on the fly without having to constantly exit and enter the UI for it, because the settings stay open as an "overlay" while you're making changes. Having the ability to show two subtitles at the same time is also great. HEVC support is great. Doesn't have the ability switch fonts yet, but nice to see that development is active for it and new features still being rolled out

  5. 5/5Definitely worth it, and one addition would be nice

Hi, I’m really grateful for your time and work on this app. It makes streaming to my Apple TV box so easy. I was wondering if it would be possible to do like VLC, and allow there to be some form of control over the video using the Apple TV remote. At this point, you have to keep your device open and control the pausing and skipping and subtitles from your mobile device. Not sure if you can consider implementing Apple TV remote controls in the future, but if so, that would be really cool. Thanks friends
