1. 4/5Great app some small improvements though

   Overall this is honestly a great app. The price is reasonable and the quality of blocking out stuff is amazing however some small things that could be changed is for some reason whenever i try to load into a show or movie sometimes even after a while it just wont load. You can restart your device or tv or keep waiting it just wont work which is frustrating. Also, id like to eventually see more shows and movies which im guessing will happen because you can already see good progress now. One last thing, the default settings should just make it so theres no blocking in basically anything pg and under its just unnecessary it makes little sense if you want your child that limited it should be something they have to add not something we have to change but still a great app and great to feel much more guilt free if i want to watch something else

2. 5/5AMAZING. Wish I found VidAngel a long time ago!

   Not sure what all the negative reviews are about?? I’m seriously in LOVE with this app, and VidAngel in general. Honestly, I’ll take a few app glitches and login inconveniences just to enjoy all the shows I’ve been dying to see without all the sex and nudity in them. And I don’t mind that it asks me to log in to Netflix every so often - just a quick type of the email and password and boom, watching the next episode. Instead of berating the creators because of a few minor app problems, you should probably try THANKING them for creating such an awesome website and app. Really, these guys are AMAZING. For those who aren’t sure of how VidAngel works: create an account with them, find the show/movie you want to watch, and use your Netflix/Prime/whatever account through their site or app by logging into it. There is a section titled “Filters”, and here there will be a long list of options (depending on what sort of content is in what you’re watching) that you can choose from to have automatically skipped in whatever you’re watching (profanity, sex, nudity, violence, disturbing images, etc.). And honestly, it works so. well. If there’s a sex scene and you don’t want sex, it will neatly jump over the whole scene; if there’s cussing and you don’t want cussing, it will neatly jump over the word. So whether you’re a parents that wants to avoid certain things for your kids, or if you’re someone (like me) who wants to enjoy a show without having to worry about skipping (or being blindsided by) sex and nudity, let me tell you: VidAngel is a God send.

3. 3/5Great website, needs work!

   I emailed support about some issues I encountered with a movie; it seems the movie was incorrectly filed under the wrong filter, and I ended up seeing nudity. This has never happened before. The support team was polite and said they would forward my concern to their tech department. However, when I checked back a few days later, nothing had changed. It felt like they were just brushing me off and saying whatever to get me to go away. Now, I don’t trust that the filters are accurate. I’ve had similar issues with other movies in the past but didn’t speak up until it became too graphic to ignore. Now, I feel like I’m paying for a service that is inconsistent. If Netflix made these kinds of mistakes, there would be an uproar. VidAngel has the potential to be like Netflix or other streaming platforms, but for those of us paying a monthly subscription, our concerns should be addressed seriously. If they need to raise prices slightly to resolve these issues, I’d be willing to pay more to ensure the content is properly filtered. I understand mistakes happen, but how they handle these situations is crucial. I’ll definitely update my review once I see some improvements.

4. 3/5LOVE the heart, hate the app

   I hate to give anything but a five star review here. So much about this company deserves five stars - the very idea, the selection of movies, the social media posts, etc. Please, please keep improving. You’re doing awesome! However, the app itself has alot frustrations. I understand it might also be because the streaming platforms don’t make it easy on them. But the app doesn’t remember where you are in as you watch the movie. As soon as the device screen goes dark, you have to reopen app, find the movie again, reconnect to chromecast, wait for it to connect, all to just pause the movie if your kids walk in and ask a question. If the electricity goes, or it disconnects for whatever reason, it doesn’t remember where you are and you have to do all previous and then figure that out. If you need close captions, which we use on all other apps because ADHD, they are SO DELAYED to the actual audio, like 2-3 minutes by half way through the movie, it’s just pointless. So, I’ll never cancel if I can help it. I want to support the project. But please keep working on app support. Such a great idea and so very frustrating to use. Keep working. You can do it!

5. 5/5My go-to for streaming

   I cannot believe there are so few reviews on here. I have been using Vidangel for the past few years. There are some hiccups now and then with the app losing verification with streaming services but nothing that is too inconvenient. It’s our families go-to for watching most streaming content. The app does not have licensing for HBO or Disney products but I don’t miss those shows anyway. There’s plenty of good content available to choose from and they are frequently uploading new content to view. The process is easy to set up, you can set broad filters to remove all of a specific content you want filtered and also manage individual filters as well if you want to allow certain filters for a specific movie. So easy and so seamless, you can hardly tell when something was removed. Anyway, just wanted to give a recent review since there doesn’t seem to be any on here. I recommend Vidangel to all my family and friends. It’s worth it.
