1. 2/5Shut Off Constantly, Move By Themselves, Doesn’t Load

   These cameras are okay. Sometimes they work, sometimes they motivate us to find a better brand to trade them out for. For us, they shut themselves off once or twice a week, they turn on their own to face the wall rendering them useless until we notice it, and lately the app will not load the live feed on half our devices, again rendering them useless. Incredibly annoying to deal with constantly. Last week it picked up my neighbors trashcan as a “person wandering” ALL DAY. Every 2 minutes or so “a person wandering” notification only to find it was still just picking up the same trashcan that had been sitting in the street all day. I tried to report it as incorrect but that did nothing. Sometimes it doesn’t even register when there’s an actual person wandering close to our door. It’ll catch it from down by the corner of the block but by our door (the closest to the camera) it’s a 50/50 shot as to whether or not it’s gonna actually pick up anything which is concerning considering we use them to keep an eye on both our front door and work truck. Sometimes it doesn’t pick it up until the person is walking away from our front door leaving us wondering why did they walk up to our door in the first place with no answer because the camera that’s supposed to let us know when they’re walking up to the door didn’t show us anything about it until they walk away. We had a package get delivered to our front door the other day that never even showed up on the camera but it had no problem picking up the neighbors across the street walking their dog. Definitely recommend looking around more. Our wifi connection is strong these just aren’t very reliable and the app is frustrating to deal with at times.

2. 1/5Pictures vs Videos

   I received one of the smart bird feeders with camera that uses this app to view the activity. When I first set the feeder up I did not purchase any of the plans, as you can view activity without having a plan. I was very pleased with the pictures that the camera would take so I decided to purchase the yearly plan for the extra features that were offered. I am now very disappointed! Now that I have the plan my camera no longer takes still pictures, only videos. The amount of activity I have at the feeder makes it impossible to view all of the videos (I'm talking hundreds within an hour). I have contacted VicoHome to see if I can change this back to still pictures but I'm told this is not an option. I have another smart feeder from a different company and it takes still pictures with the option to request a video off of any of the pictures. To me this is so much nicer. I have time to scroll through all of the pictures and request a video from any that I choose to. Please change your software to give people the option! I will be canceling my subscription if this change is not made. Thank you for listening to my suggestion!

3. 5/5Great cameras excellent quality

   I got two of these security cameras for my home an I’m glad I got them, the setup took me a few minutes but after that all smooth sailing, the quality is really good too so is night vision aswell it’s great, I did end up paying for the subscription $8 a month which honestly isn’t bad for me, I recommend it if you can just try it out I’m sure you’ll love it..the 3 minutes recording time feature is awesome instead of it only being like 10-20 seconds, I love these cameras cause I can view it live anywhere anytime when I’m away from my home or at work, also the push notifications are on point and responsive too which I really like, an the share feature is nice to have too you can share the cameras with family or friends. The battery life is excellent I must say but also depends on your camera location an how many times it picks up motion but my cameras battery’s last 2/3 weeks close to a month! I love these cameras the fact there’s no long loose wires anywhere, also customer service is good too always responsive and there help an support is great, no complaints using these cameras I highly recommend them, plan on getting more soon!! 👌💯

   DO NOT BUY CAMERA GOT RANDOMLY TURNED ON WHILE I WAS UNDRESSED. I got recommended these cameras and now I have 4 that I have to trash. I frequently turn my camera on and off due to what Im using it for. My camera had been off for almost 2 weeks, I walked in my house, got UNDRESSED, and walked back through my house. Weirdly, I got a notification on my phone that said “motion was detected”. I was confused because my camera had not been “woken up” in almost 2 weeks. Upon looking at the screenshots they provided, my camera got turned on right as I walked past it nude. My phone was in a complete different room, I was alone. I immediately took it off the wall and shut the camera down using the “power” button on the camera itself. Upon looking in the app, it took multiple screenshots of me as I walked through my house. The only way the camera could’ve gotten “woken up” was through the app on my phone. Typically, someone would leave their camera on until the battery ran out, so you wouldn’t notice this. I noticed it because I turn mine on and off. Every way Ive tried to contact the app developers themselves, the links don’t send me to a contact page, they send me to random websites. Just click on the links on this page, it sends you to a random websites I have contacted apple support hoping I can get some sort of explanation and resolution. I am willing to involve law enforcement. If my app got hacked that means it’s happening to others and they just don’t notice. People use this camera in and outside their homes, who else is watching through the camera that has enough power over the app to turn a random woman’s camera on when it has been off for 2 weeks?

5. 2/5Do better.

   I use this app for a bird feeder that has performed well... except almost every video included "person, pet or vehicle". Rarely was that the case. Birds were frequently incorrectly identified (especially when the female of the species was present). I initially sent feedback with each error, but eventually gave up - too time consuming to tell them there was no car, pet or person in the video (10+ daily) and squirrels are not birds! Today I got a message from VicoHome that if I want video, I have to buy a subscription for cloud storage. Otherwise, it appears I will get only stills and (I assume) those will vanish unless I download them immediately. I am not willing to pay for an app that is SO OFTEN completely wrong. I had intended to add another feeder to the current model IF bugs were worked out, but since they weren't, if I add another it won't be using this app. I can mount a Ring camera near the feeder for the same purpose and identity using the free Merlin app from Cornell University. A few more steps for me, but worth it economically and for accuracy.
