1. 3/5Please fix app so it does not turn off audio

   It would be nice if the app would allow background audio to continue playing when looking at the traffic cameras. It doesn’t really make sense as the traffic cameras do not feature any audio. Therefore music, podcast, audiobook, etc should be allowed to continue playing uninterrupted. Additionally on some of the cameras it can hard to figure out the direction of travel the camera is facing. Thank you.

2. 1/5New update is horrible and almost useless.

   The new update is multiple steps backwards in terms of ease of use. Before your location and cameras would come right up. Now you have to search and scroll to find your current location and cameras. The camera portion makes no sense now since the cameras are displayed in numerical order but they don’t corespondent to the actual mileage markers. Example. Camera 1 is out in Stanton at mile marker 1. Camera 2 is woodland road in Hampton VA, camera 3 is HRBT and then Camera 4 is back in Stanton at mile marker 1. Additionally site says log in to save favorite cameras but there is no link to allow log in. When you open up the traffic map it defaults to the center of the state out by Lynchburg. This is with location services active all the time. The extra features are nice but too hard to use. Very disappointed with the new update.

3. 1/5Go Back to the Old Version

   This new update is awful. It now requires me to have my location services on in order to use the app. (I found that if I tap ‘go to settings’ when the box pops up, I can then click the back arrow in the top left corner on my iPhone to bypass it.) Beyond that: 1) there is now a bunch of new options that I have no use for, 2) the colored lines indicating traffic congestion are ridiculously thick and blurry and don’t work well, 3) the map now opens up to a random zoomed in area in Staunton, requiring me to zoom out and then move to find the roads/cameras I am looking for. What was wrong with the old version?! I guess it’s the cliché of “leave it to the government to ruin something that was working perfectly fine.”

4. 5/5Decent 511 App

   I never had any issues with this app from my experience. The app is most useful for viewing the VA live traffic cameras and looking at the road conditions. The only change I want from this app is for the map layout to improve in someways. I think the colors for the traffic speed overlay should be bolder and more fleshed out on the map. And the heavy traffic color should change to red instead of dark red, like the way it currently appears on the map. Overall a pretty decent 511 app.

5. 1/5I can’t understand how to use this app with the latest update

   The app is now just about useless for me. It is very confusing. I loved it previously. I could look at the map. See live traffic cameras for road conditions by clicking on the cam on the map. I could also see areas of heavy traffic, accidents, and roads closed , or under repair, just by looking at the color markings along many roads on the map. I could also look at the conditions for other possible routes, if needed. All on the same map. I have no idea how to use this new app version. I can’t give a 0 star rating, but that’s the value to me now.
