   I am especially happy to give 5 stars to the MYCHART service. I track most of my appointments and medical issues, as I have many, plus I also double check my prescription medications as I unfortunately need to use a lot here too. Your service makes my life easier! If I can add an additional comment regarding VCU, I see many providers and have 100% confidence in them all. I respect their care and I appreciate their support. I also appreciate all of the staff, from the nurses, technicians, the customer service staff (check in/out, appointment schedulers) and especially your greeters who make the first impression. There are even a few at your Short Pump location that will let my wife, pull up , get me a wheelchair and go park while they wheel me to my scheduled appointments…no matter what floor they happen to be on. Now that’s a great first impression. Oh, due to my repeated visits they even know me by name. Wow, again what a first impression! I just hope you will pass along my thanks.

   Dr. Arlene Bohannon , Ms Snead, RN and Team…Complex Care Dept…. Cedrika and Annie are above AmazingI have nothing but absolutely wonderful things to say with my care with the Complex department and team. I also need to include all the other physicians that I’ve seen having injections with through radiology labs everybody at the front desk just my whole experience with VCU has been amazing, but I really contribute all of this to Dr. Arleen Bohannon and her team. …. I I do get frustrated with scheduling with other departments like Dermotology that seems to be one of the worst and I’ve had problems with the infusion department scheduling in the past but over all, VCU has been absolutely amazing. I feel very, very fortunate to be part of Dr. Bohanon at the Complex CARE …. I know I’m a lot and I really think each and everyone of you. You are all so appreciated by me.

3. 4/5Great with a few fixes needed

   Love the access - easy to message and schedule without waiting on the phone. Needs a couple of fixes - - can only message certain people. There needs to be some option to at least request communication with a doc we know. For example, saw a doc inpatient but couldn’t message her for quite a while after because a followup appointment hadn’t been put in yet. Also if a doc helps with some prescription or question but doesn’t specifically have an appointment listed, can’t message them. Docs can always forward the message if they’re not the appropriate person to respond. - couldn’t refill one of my meds. No refills left but was unable to request it except through a separate non-urgent message. - the alerts were not set up well initially. Should default to message or email or else my phone isn’t set up right to get eh alerts directly from MyChart. But OS and app are both updated and I still have to rely on the text alerts to know when something new pops in. Other people have mentioned it alerts too much. - as a physician, I don’t understand why my notes to my team are all visible to patients as well. It gets very confusing and cluttery. I’ll send a note to team on lab results etc and before they can get to it a patient will see it and call/message in asking about it but often I’m writing in shorthand or med-speak but I need it attached to patient’s chart rather than floating randomly in the Inbox. But it’s not meant for patients to read since we are assuming a level of understanding that patients may not have and should not be expected to have.

4. 5/5MyChart is Awesome

   This system is so easy to use! I can keep track of all of my doctors and appointments in this one huge health system. I can email medical questions, prescription questions, and ask for assistance with insurance questions for each individual doctor that I see. I can see the doctor’s notes about my most recent visit, I can see test results from my most recent procedures, and I can see my lab results. This allows me to understand what I need to ask when I go for my follow up visit. MyChart is a game changer for communication with your doctors and staff. I wish all doctors were using MyChart!

5. 5/5Great app but one flaw

   This app is fantastic for managing my family’s health care needs. It provides an easy was to interact with doctors, nurse and staff, making appointment and being able to refer to notes, test results and history. The one annoying thing is that they turned off the ability to manage the photo that’s associated with the patient. Only the attending doctor can change it. With all they have to do that’s a weird level to have administering photos in the app when as a parent I should be able to do it myself. But definitely recommend using this app.
