1. 5/5DO NOT GO WITH Varo as your personal bank !!!

   My so called “secured” banking card was breached so, like any other person would do I locked & cancelled my card through the app. I called to make sure that I’ve started a dispute, everything seemed to be going well. I was told that a provisional credit would be added to my account the next day. However, the provisional credit was never applied, subsequently taking my actual money being deposited into my account. I then called for again, this time being the THIRD TIME by the way to get a better understanding about what’s going on just for the supervisor to tell me (for the first time after speaking with three other team members) that my provisional credit is locked until the 90-day process has been completed. So, here I am stuck paying back a fraudulent charge I never even approved of!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT USING VARO! If in the event that your account gets compromised you will be “penalized” by NOT having access to your believe card, or the money deposited into the account. Seriously, If I could rate at no stars, I would. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! & unfortunately, After being a trusted member for over four years this will be this last time Varo will ever provide me with ANY service they have to offer. 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

2. 3/5Used to be almost perfect & amazing, was the best free fastest mobile banking app

   Fast simple cool designs absolutely free & fast with safe credit building and so much other features. BUTTTTTTTT the recent updates have ruined the banking app, I might have to start using one of my other 12 free mobile banks I have…. Unfortunately it’s sad. The long load times now are crazy, I can’t log in, it keep saying “Our wires got crossed we’re working on getting this fixed” which is so annoying and I never had this issue or any other issue with this app until a couple months ago or the latest updates actually and it’s so annoying. If this isn’t fixed soon I’m done using this bank I have been loyal for years for this?!?!? On top of you gotta make $2,500 and so much more to get benefits or access to money or borrowing just a decent amount. Other apps, competitors such as Chime have been updating their app to have way more better features including way less deposits required for benefits, access to paycheck early even if it’s not the entire thing and with low fees, low borrow fees, faster credit building, same safe credit building options. It’s really unfortunate to see this app go down hill, become slower and have technical issues, been using for like 4 years and I’ve told over 30 people about this amazing app, but if these issues aren’t fixed it’s not as good as it once was. All the deposits are almost twice other banks to get benefits or borrow and the borrow fees higher too.

   I’ve been banking with Varo Bank without one issue for over five years. If you do not need to deposit cash much, which there’s still a way to do cash deposits, and don’t need paper checks then this bank is going to be great for you! Debit card or credit card, use one if you need a larger purchasing power. If you want good interest rate on your savings, 5% is hard to find. Overall, it’s a bank in your hand. ATMs are easy to find, pretty much any CVS or Walgreens, plus other locations are free. Customer service has always been top notch through the app. Banking made easy! I need to stress the one star reviews are most likely from people who never had a bank before, may never used Varo, wrongly used a bank including Varo for scam transactions, or reviewed Varo Bank with one star for an issue that is not Varo Bank’s fault. Varo Bank is FDIC insured at the normal $250,000 limit like every other bank. As a five year veteran user of Varo Bank, I’ve not had one issue with this bank. I’ve traveled, bought expensive purchases, deposited checks, etc…. Do not put your stupid one star reviews on this bank if you’re trying to scam things, used the app for five minutes, or complain about Varo not having FDIC, customer service, etc… it’s like any other bank except you don’t have in person branches. Lies on reviews are not needed and I read 40 most recent reviews on Varo and there are lots of one stars I absolutely know are customer faults or fraud by customers or things every bank also has. For anyone who actually wants a bank that’s Mobile and has excellent features and customer service then Varo Bank is going to be just fine for you. Take it from someone who joined Varo Bank in 2020 and only banks with Varo Bank.

   It doesn’t make sense that you have to make 1,000 dollars within 30 days in order to use the advance feature which lets you borrow money until pay day but if I was making 1,000 a week or could have it within 30 days I wouldn’t be borrowing money from you all that really makes the feature pointless to those who really need it it doesn’t make sense nor does it seem fair especially to a loyal customer who’s been with you all for a while and never let my account go into the negative until I recently was told I had to make 1,000 within 30 days to even be qualified for an advance. I really thought about just closing my account because of that simple inconvenience being that it was the only reason I had started with Varo and because I could save more with having a saving account, but many other apps have the same feature at this point and would be reasonable when it comes to borrowing money until payday. Also I’ve been with you all since the first varo app that was out all the way up until the new app so I feel as if there should at least a membership where if you’ve been so long and have direct deposit set up then you should qualify it’s not like it’s not already setup where you all will receive your money soon as it hits the account so it’s something to put into consideration not only for me a loyal customer but for the rest of your customers in general. Thank you

   I received a great incentive when I first switched my direct deposit from my employer from another online deposit account to Varo. The first month when I received my direct deposit only one day early I figured it was because it was a new direct deposit. The second month however, it also only came in a day early not two. I’m a state employee and our payroll system always sends out direct deposits out three days in advance of payday so that banks can honor the getting paid two days early that they advertise . I’ve always gotten paid two days early if not sooner with my other online deposit accounts except Varo. I still have only gotten paid one day early instead of two. When I enquirer about this through the chatbot because god forbid you can actually speak with anyone, or anyone that knows anything besides the already automated messages they send you in chat, it’s because my employer not sending it on time. It boggles my mind that they just decided to start sending deposits two days later than they previously used to for the last twenty years I’ve been working there. This has caused me to be late on several of my bills that I have automatically come out of my account and now I can no longer use my debit card to pay these bills. It’s pretty messed up that they falsely advertise to get paid up to two days early when this hasn’t happened for me one time in the past three months since switching my direct deposit. If this is the feature you’re wanting don’t switch or have your deposits with Varo. The customer service is horrible if you can even get to an agent, and they always blame your employer not them. I’ve never had issues before receiving it early so idk why now it’s become an issue since switching.

   Doesn't work well at all with my POS Galaxy A17 also how come online there's no option to send money to people ONLY in app also there's no dark mode theme which would be nice on people's eyes at night I think this bank is way over rated with no real benefits to be honest its a mediocre bank also can't even use Zelle without having direct deposit is dum

   I have been using Varo bank for several years. And their banking services and customer service are both exceptional. I never have to worry about anything. Because if there were an issue to come up, they contact you immediately. And that means a lot. 5 stars.

   I was with Varo for years. When it was time for them to update their savings interest rate, I chose to move my money elsewhere, and close my accounts. To do so, I needed to chat with a customer service agent. This agent, Gagana, repeatedly accused me of being the reason Varo changed their savings APR from 5% for the first $5,000 if you me direct deposit qualifications and 2.5% above $5,000, down to 3.75% for that first $5,000, and 1% above that.

   Varo has been handling my money for 10 years and they are without a doubt the best banking entity without a brick and mortar store. The only knock I have is their customer service reps are not from round here like we say in the southern United States. As a matter of fact I think they may be stationed on the moon. might as well be.
