   The moderator was GREAT. Friendly & very informative but the Userlytics App itself is in need of serious revamping because the interruptions were so constant so the test could not continue. Other than that the intentions of learning the consumer’s feedback can be very useful to companies as well as to the consumer.

2. 2/5Needs Better Audio Test Support

   Decided to try out this app and see what UserLytics is all about. I do professional accessibility and UX testing for my company, so was naturally drawn to this app. Prior to initiating the first test I was presented with an audio check feature, which makes sense given the nature of testing websites and applications (if audio content is required anyways). Audio test indicated between 50-75% volume and no validations to indicate an issue otherwise, so I tested the app and provided pretty good feedback if I do say so myself. That test was rejected though - why? Because of “audio quality issues” supposedly. A bit ticked that they wasted my time today so requested the audio file from them to hear what I sound like to them. Here’s the point though, I shouldn’t have to request the audio file from these guys. (1) Our submitted user test files should be available under our profile pages already. If there’s an issue, I want to know so I can correct on my end for the next test. And that also helps promote both QA transparency and accountability (ensure they aren’t screwing users out of legitimately earned money). (2) If their volume test page indicated no issues with my microphone, and there’s actually an issue, then UserLytics needs to improve their volume test page. I.e. follow Zoom’s lead with microphone testing. Have the user make a 10-15 second statement, record it, play it back to them so they can hear what UserLytics hears on their end, and then maybe add an extra layer of programming to check for any quality issues. Not hard to do. I can’t recommend UserLytics at present for these reasons.

3. 2/5Good concept, frequent issues

   The app has a nice design and concept, but after completing a number of tests on the app, I’ve experienced too many issues. I have definitely experienced more problems as a tester here than I have on other comparable user testing websites. Even when you do everything perfectly, with a powerful phone that is fully updated and a fully updated app, it’s not uncommon to experience issues mid test that caused the test to fail, wasting your time as a tester. Among other things, I think the app is probably too resource intensive. It’s also unfortunately been my experience that the app and platform typically blame the users when things go wrong, including through irrelevant and incorrect accusations or error messages, when the issue really was the fault of the platform itself. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend Userlytics to others- look for different user testing platforms with more consistent performance.

   When you read the scenario and you’re saying that you can only afford $40 and you’re trying to set it up with that $40 or the amount that you are wanting us to put in as our choice and it changes it that kind of threw me off but my overall experience Was good I can make it work. I also feel like it should’ve allowed and Maurice to go back-and-forth to look at the numbers on each scenario the last one yes that did give you the option kind of go back-and-forth

   Seems ironic to me that an app used for testing usability has so many quirks to it. I’ve had to do 2-3 tests with it to understand how to navigate the instructions while testing the app. It also needs to add some user feedback, like when uploading videos. I’m not sure if the recording/upload task is successful, and I had to re-open the app to find that it had downloaded 0%, but with no instructions or insight into what was holding it up. I think I eventually got my video uploaded. As a user tester, I think this app is interesting, and I’m glad to see how it works. I just have higher expectations for a usability testing app :)
