1. 5/5Intriguing and fascinating

   I have been using this device almost daily, however, when I remove it in the evening or if I don’t use for the next 2-3 days I still feel the vibration when I stay in a bad posture for more than 5 seconds. The first time this happened I thought I had NOT removed the device from my back, even though I remembered removing it. When I touched my back the device was not there, even though I felt the vibration clearly! I wonder if the back muscles have memory, and knows that a bad posture is followed by a vibration. Can anyone let me know if you had a similar experience? Or does the app maker has an explanation for this phenomenon?

2. 1/5Bad. Just bad.

   Bought this after seeing the overwhelmingly positive reviews. Now I think a large portion of them are fake. App lacks basic functionality. No way to adjust your goals. No way to edit an activity once its been recorded. Extremely limited settings. No way to adjust the tilt to more than 6 degrees. For instance if i lean forward to write something down, the device buzzes even though my back is straight. I know it has no way to know that, but adjusting the degree of movement beyond 0-6 degrees would allow for more range of motion without the buzzing when you’re doing more than just sitting. Additionally a recent app release made all my data disappear. I thought my device is faulty for several days. Nothing was saving. Then another update makes my data visible again. During the faulty behavior, I didn't realize the device was on and I accidentally left it hanging off the side of my desk over night. It tracked 1400 min of upright time. It automatically adjusted my goal to 430 mins of upright time a day. There was no way to go back and delete the entry. Their solution? Log out. Delete the app. EMAIL them. They will delete your account and data, and you get to start over. No 24/7 support means you’re playing tag with the support person. I asked for a reset. It’s been 3 days. Still no reset. I check my email to find a reply asking for… my email address. Perhaps it’s a silly thing to be annoyed by, but this device and app have been nothing but problematic and stuff like that just adds to the frustration.

3. 1/5Would love to still be able to use this app

   I was enjoying my Upright but the last two app updates have made the barely functional accessibility for screen reader users now completely disfunctional. Voiceover doesn't read most of the app elements, gets stuck in the calendar, and only one of the tab buttons is labeled. It's completely unusable. A lot of people with vision impairments need products like the Upright, but the app is one of the worst I've ever encountered as a screen reader user. To top it off, there's no dark mode and the app doesn't respond to smart invert so it is visually agonizing for anyone who is light sensitive. Upright was a good idea and was great, but thanks to the required app it is $60 completely wasted for me that I'll never get back and there are no other products like it so, as is often common, the people who need something like this the most don't have access to it due to a dev team that isn't designing with their own target audience in mind.

4. 5/5Over two years and great support

   I’ve had the device and iOS app for over two year now. I really enjoy the posture vibrations as a reminder. There is a lot of flexibility with how to use this product. The updating of the device is also fantastic. I just hold my phone nearby (sometimes on my shoulder just to be safe ;)) and it updates. The one time where I had a problem with the firmware update, the support chat was very helpful. On top of these things I also love that they don’t track everything under the sun to use their app. It bothers me with other apps but they just use the minimum.

5. 5/5Got one for me and my wife

   We’ve had a great experience so far. The app paired really quickly and it’s been easy to use. We weren’t huge fans of sticking something on our back so we got the necklace that goes along with it. Also, be careful when training the device because you’ll be self conscious of wearing it at first and you’ll likely be sitting/standing super straight. That’s the goal of course, but it can be a bit uncomfortable getting used to being that straight for the first week or two.
