"notes": "Winds Aloft — Now Powered by GFS Model Data Wind forecasts at every altitude have been completely rebuilt. UAV Weather now pulls real GFS (Global Forecast System) model data server-side, giving you true wind speed and direction at the altitude you actually fly — not surface readings extrapolated upward. What's new in this release: Per-Altitude Wind Direction Wind arrows on the Winds Aloft grid now show the actual modeled wind direction at each altitude. A 500 ft wind blowing northeast and a surface wind blowing southwest are shown independently — because they often are different. 14-Day Winds Aloft Forecast The grid now covers up to 14 days ahead (336 hours). Switch between days instantly using the day dropdown — all data is fetched in one request so navigation is immediate with no loading delays. Confidence Indicators Hours in the 5–10 day range are marked medium confidence; 10–16 day are marked low confidence — so you know exactly how much to trust the numbers at the edge of the forecast window. GFS Altitudes Up to 16,000 ft AGL The altitude ceiling selector now goes up to 16,000 ft, covering the full range of UAV and manned aircraft operations. An inline note on altitudes above 3,000 ft recommends cross-checking with METARs for commercial operations. Premium Preview New to UAV Weather Premium?
