   After developer response I’ve decided to re-review. I appreciate the response letting me know how to enlarge text size. However it doesn’t quite match with the system settings so when I make the app large enough for me everything else is too large elsewhere. Still they have allowed larger text size so that’s great. Everything else with the app(s) is great. I use other similar apps from the developer but this one is my favorite. I really appreciate having the 12 steps and the 12 traditions in the app. I believe it works offline too because I have a meeting in a park where there is no cell reception and I believe I’ve used these functions offline at that meeting. My new suggestion/ request is to add the promises with the 12&12 & then the app would be top tier. It’s also a fantastic sign that the developer responded to my review because that says to me they plan to keep this app going which is great because I hate paying for apps that get abandoned and get so obsolete they’re no longer available when getting new devices but I have a feeling these guys won’t do that. I also really really appreciate the 1 time fee for access because I wouldn’t subscribe to a monthly even if it was $1 a month because then I’d just go buy the book. My sponsor started sending me passages from this app which is how I found it and I found it so helpful I bought it for myself even though my sponsor said he’d keep sending me the daily readings. I have 4 apps from this developer and plan on getting at least 2 more.

2. 5/5“My 24 Hour Book”

   A desperate woman who couldn’t stop drinking, I woke up in hospital after third suicide attempt thinking, “Oh No! Now what?”. In a very short time, 1 Two AA members showed up and took me to a treatment center, against my will, but I felt powerless to resist. 2. 28 days later I continued the meetings which were part of the recovery program . 3. My desperation was my surrender. I thought this wouldn’t work for me, but I would try it. First thing every morning on my knees, ask God for a sober day (without questioning what I may or may not believe about Gid) read something spiritual (my sponsor said she read the 24 Hour book) and plan my day around a meeting . At night before going to sleep, say a thank you prayer to God for the 24 hours free of my obsession. 4. “The 24 Hours a Day” book was perfect to remind me to stay on the right path. It has had new meaning for me every day. I now read it on my iPhone, but I can still pick up my original “black book” and not only is the message still there for me, I have sticky notes on almost every page. They too help me to rely on the power of God, and stay aware of my own powerlessness. This book has become more precious to me every day. Thanks to all who contributed the daily readings, the ones who were inspired to write each day’s message, the publishers and bookstores who continue to keep it available to us, my sponsor who passed it on many 24 hour days ago… But first and always, I thank God for his grace in everything and everyone who has saved me from desperation and gave me a beautiful life.

3. 5/5Must have for any AA person

   I used to have the small softcover but would give it away to people and never see them again and have to buy a new one. This app version is fantastic. I have used it for 22 years and the best 10 dollar investment I’ve made. It has three components. A thought for the day, a meditation for the day and a prayer for the day. In the thought portion is an ending contemplative question which is often the topic of an AA meeting. The nice thing is that I can open this app anytime and read the reading in the morning and start my day right. It mentions god but not reason to freak out. You can use your definition of God, even the term good will orderly direction. The meditations are usually excellent and I often send them to my non AA friends

4. 5/5Spiritual not religious

   Whoever wrote the review on the one reading in this book which talks about atheism completely missed the point. They do not care what your higher power is as long as it works for you. The fact is if you are an addict or alcoholic like me you can not recover on your own. Hence needing a power greater than yourself. This could be your AA/NA group or whatever you want to help point your life in the right direction. Again this book absolutely does not push a certain religion. It focuses on repairing the spiritual disconnect we face with this disease. Where our actions and behaviors don’t line up with our morals and values.

5. 5/5Reading this book every morning changed my life

   In early recover and well in, I experienced depression and anxiety. I now know many do. Reading this book every morning changes the chemistry in my brain, I am convinced. My great-grandsponser, my grandsponser, my sponser, my self, all my sponsees, have read and read this book daily. The positivity and perspective has forever changed my life and the life of millions of AA’s over the years...one day at a time. Bonus is the slow drip,drip,drip of explanation of AA life and living. I need it every day. Thanks for this book.
