  1. 5/5Thumbs up

Good evening this is T from 501 unit one. My experience is good. I can’t even say great. My daughter and I have been here 7 1/2 years. We are very blessed. We don’t have no harm or danger that comes that way we keep ourselves, but we also try to be good neighbors. Erin is more than just a landlord to me and my daughter personally and I know if I really need something or need to voice my opinion about something I know that I will get heard I will be heard so as of right now I have no complaints with how things are going. Have a blessed night.🩷🩷🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

  2. 1/5Failure to disclose fees

I had already used my credit card to pay the initial application fee, so it was saved as my existing payment method. When it came time to pay my security deposit and first month's rent, I simply selected that saved card. At no point during checkout was I told that a 3.9% processing fee would be added. When I contacted TurboTenant, I was told the fee is disclosed on a different page and when adding a new payment method—but not when using a card that's already saved. Even the chatbot acknowledged it would be helpful to display the fee before submitting payment. Despite that, TurboTenant refused to refund the fee or allow me to cancel the transaction and pay by bank account instead. Charging customers nearly $200 without a clear, final warning before they authorize payment is poor design and an unfair customer experience. A simple confirmation showing the processing fee before payment would prevent this from happening to others.

  3. 2/5Buggy

No matter how many bug fixes, this app is constantly bugged. When your keyboard opens it can’t close in the feedback window, when you try to press the menu button the menu options don’t actually come up where you can see them. It’s like they get stuck half way through pulling up. And also it seems to be incredibly hard to submit any kind of bug reports. Let alone that the only way to add direct deposit for rent is by going to the website online via a computer or phone compatible browser and connecting it, which led to me paying fees for months on something that I could have just scheduled to be pulled. It doesn’t even appear as an option in app, and it doesn’t allow you to change payment methods in app either, only on the website.

  4. 1/5Buggy app with fictitious ratings

This is by far the worst app that I am forced to use on my iPhone, due to it being required by my landlord to communicate and pay rent. For anyone that has used the app it is quite obvious that something is up with the 4.9 star rating. My experience started with logging in. They simply don’t offer the same login options as they do on their website, so google SSO is not available for those who signed up on the webpage. Furthermore the app is riddled with bugs. It constantly crashes and forces you to restart. Also very adware-like in the way it constantly pushes certain “features” like renters insurance and credit reporting. Overall this app is highly frustrating, and TurboTenant is a slimy service to begin with. I will be communicating with apple about the fake reviews, but be wary of the 4.9 stars. Those are not real.

  5. 1/5Do not use

This is the first time I’ve ever been compelled to write a review because of how bad it is. I was supposed to pay my rent through the app but it never showed me an option to actually pay it, only showing an “Amount Due” button. Then after two weeks, it finally showed up but managed to take out $1600 from my account and not return it despite my landlord showing me that she refunded it because it should have never gone through. And even then, the button to actually make a payment never showed up. I’ve been trying to change my password now and the link they sent has been loading and spinning for over 10 minutes. Definitely not worth it, I’d suggest literally any other payment method or app than this one if you are able to.

We’re excited to announce the following updates! - Now when you submit a “Check-in” after making a payment, the information will be sent in a message between you and the landlord. If you submitted a message through a listing site about the property you’re interested in, you can see that message within the Message section too! - As a tenant, you'll now be able to see a checklist on the Dashboard to help you stay organized, compliant, and protected. It includes important tasks you can check off as they’re completed! - If you’re new to TurboTenant or haven't had a chance to complete onboarding, you’ll see a new onboarding experience with important steps to set you up for success like adding a payment method to pay rent and turning on notifications you’ll receive from your landlord. - Now when a payment is due, past due, or a payment has failed, you have the option to receive a push notification so you can take action quickly. - As a tenant, you may see a new option in your portal to view a “Home Guide.” If you do, it means your landlord has shared a Home Guide for your rental with you to highlight information for your lease and help answer important questions about utilities, taking care of the property, communicating, and more. If you don’t see an option to view the Home Guide, ask your landlord about it! - When you access a Condition Report from the app, you can quickly click “I’m Done” at the top of the page instead of scrolling down to complete it. - You can see more updated information faster with auto refresh in the app and by pulling down on the page to refresh.
