1. 1/5I’ve just paid for their “subscription” I REALLY DON’T LIKE IT

   I think when you “pay” for something it should be better than a “free” version. I’ve been using ReTouch free version for many years and it’s been an OK tool for removing objects or trying to remove people in a photo. Today I went to do a touch up on photos on my iPhone and it was all different - first it offered me their new Ai paid version for 50% discount, so I thought $7.49 isn’t going to break the bank so I went ahead and got it! BIG MISTAKE (unless I’m not using it correctly which quite honestly for means a big learning curve and so not so user friendly…) and it took me to the app (which isn’t what I wanted - I just wanted to delete something quick in a photo I wanted yo share, where it wanted me to import photos!) When I went back to my photos in my iPhone I could edit my photos (but that after dressing 10 minutes trying to figure out (& not figuring out) what to do to delete an object! I feel like I’ve been duped - I should have just stayed with the “free” version! I’ve already canceled my subscription! There may be something “Ai” or even “new” that I'm not seeing/finding, and if there is I’ll be happy to come back and change my 1 star review but the likelihood of me using ReStore after today is not likely as right now I’m going to the App Store to find a different photo touch-up app that has better features which as you see I am willing to “pay for”.

   I never bother writing reviews ... but this one i want to write. I have had this app probably since my first iPhone... i have since upgraded phones 8 times. This app has come along every time. i just love it. I am a professional news photojournalist for 30 years so i know a little bit about photography. When i am not working on news or shooting an NFL game i like to use my iphone to create fine art and composites. Having access to a removal tool is essential. I can't say this is the best. What i can say is i've been using it from the start and it has never disappointed me. It is so good I have never had the need to download another removal tool from the app store. I am completely satisfied with this app and it works easily and efficiently. Thank you to the developers. Finally an app i don't need an extra apps to keep on my phone for any shortcomings--- there are none.

   Like countless others, I, too paid a “one-time” fee, only to have my hand forced to upgrade. Developers: save yourself the time of the boilerplate response you’ve already given in response to the like reviews before mine. Stop insulting users and spare them the copy/paste “we appreciate you and we’re really sorry, all of your features are still there, we’ve just added blur and AI” mumbo jumbo. You now force loyal users to maneuver around “new features” or else pay in infinity for that which they already thought they purchased ONE TIME, as YOU MARKETED - the fact that it may have become clear you could squeeze users for more should be a burden borne by those who DID NOT invest in your work early on, not an incentive to hit up those who DID. Mark the features that are extra or remove them altogether. But whatever you do, stop insulting people with the same robotic response to a complaint that is clearly problematic. I, for one, will no longer be using the app at all, having already run into tools that are at least SUBSTANTIALLY SIMILAR to those I previously used and paid for “ONE TIME”. Shame on you.

4. 2/5Payed to download app from beginning of launch

   I’ve used this app from when it first launched and they required a payment to download the app. I find it frustrating to be using the app and having features appear that tell me I have to pay more for it. If you paid to DOWNLOAD an app you shouldn’t have to pay even more for feature they add. I see people have mentioned this as well and now seeing the app is FREE TO DOWNLOAD I think that for users like myself who payed for the app should get the features since we where there from the beginning. I don’t like to pay for apps and this is the only one I’ve paid for and it’s truly upsetting. Or remove the features that are needed to now pay for so called “free” version. It’s not fair for the ones like me who payed for the app. This needs to be corrected for users who paid to download. From someone who works with marketing and advertising I see why they would want to charge for ai I understand that but it’s not fair to want a more charge for people who paid for the “Free option” it wasn’t free when we had to pay to download and we deserve to have full access for the users that paided to download. Hoping that they can come up with a solution that is fair for users who paid to download the app. At the end of the day those where the ones that where there from the beginning and helped the developers then further be able to expand the app interface.

5. 1/5Am I crazy?

   Please believe me when I say that I did not want to leave a negative review. I have had this app for years. I’m pretty sure I got it by chance when it first dropped. It used to be so reliable. Idk why, but now it is borderline unusable. The majority of the time, when I go to edit a photo, as soon as it gets to the editing screen, it freezes and then crashes. I would say that it works to some extent about 1/10 of the time, but still slow, lagging, and rough. Overall, for the past year, it has been slow, buggy, and unreliable. Originally, this app was wayyyy ahead of the game for tech like this. But now I feel like it’s just… bad and disappointing. I always keep up with software updates. I always read new policies, instructions, and provided info. I am devastated. I don’t want to learn how to use a new app, but I think I will have to. If you are looking to get this app, I recommend trying a different one first. These days, competitors offer essentially the same service. I feel like this app genuinely, on occasion, is good and maybe some people have very good experiences. Just not worth the risk and effort. Dang…
