1. 2/5Use Caution!!!

   I downloaded this app and I tried to cancel it before the end of the free trial. Yeah right! They had already took out the monthly payment! 2 Days before the trial ended! I was so annoyed. But I complained and they refunded my money. Fast forward a year later, I decided to try this app again. I apparently had a momentary lapse of reason, but I thought that maybe the app was better now. So I reopened the app. I was so wrong! The page open and welcomed me back. And then it asked to update my account and payment information and choose the package I wanted. And that’s it for 3 months it was stuck on that page no matter what I did! I say 3 months because I tried to cancel the account for the next 3 months after the first day when I couldn’t login AT ALL and couldn’t get ANY help. No matter how many emails I sent them or anything I tried. From the first time I sent them an email to doing resets to deleting and reloading the app. Nothing helped. And every time I tried to cancel by email I only got a message telling me to cancel on the app! Even though I repeatedly told them that I couldn’t do anything on the app. So after 3 months of them charging my bank account and being unable to cancel, I finally threatened to report them to Consumer Affair and the Better Business Bureau. Within minutes I got an email from TotalAv and I was refunded my money and the account was closed! So the message is if you get this app, plan on keeping it for a long long time! Oh and if you’re thinking that the device I was using was just cheap junk, it all happened on an iPhone that I only had 3months that I bought new and was the first owner. Just be careful.

2. 2/5Froze my IPhone

   I began having strange issues with my phone almost felt like someone else had control. Started with my music app cutting off shortly after it came on. I would get message phone is currently off line. I was confused because I always listen to my downloads on phone. Then a few days later every search on Google would buffer then finally time out. By the end my phone was not functioning correctly and I may have to get a new phone. I took to batteries Inc and told the guy my issues. He wanted to reboot but my phone but my phone wouldn’t connect. I told him I have the totalAV connected and the VPN just keeps buffering connecting. I asked him to remove the Total AV. And thank god after he removed the program I had no more problems. I was not ready to learn a new phone. One thing I recognized was their customer service is poor. You’re unable to speak with an actual person much less email. I will not be renewing the current security program and you should reconsider especially if you’re not tech savey.

3. 1/5Fails at its purpose, continues to charge you after uninstall

   This is supposed to be one of those all in one VPN, firewall, ad blocker apps with visual read outs and graphs of its effectiveness. For the service they charge you a yearly subscription fee. The most important service this would provide is the VPN or virtual private network which protects her phone from sniffing attacks, oppressive government‘s and snooping Internet service providers. Unfortunately,The app over reports it’s effectiveness using data and graphs and yet none of the services offered are very well-maintained or produce a very good outcome. the VPNs often not engaged, the ad blocker doesn’t block many ads. When you have problems, contacting tech-support is near impossible. When you decide this isn’t worth it, it is near impossible to cancel your subscription. The subscription is not through Apple’s subscription manager so it’s nearly impossible to cancel the reoccurring payment to them. We’ve seen this type of app many times before committing to reoccurring payments is easy, using the app not very easy, canceling the payment not very easy. Ultimately bad business practices and bad performance are often equated as “a scam”. If you need a VPN there are much better options out there for much less money

4. 1/5Renew? At 500% higher? No thanks!

   I downloaded TotalAV last year, paying $20 for a one year of service, fully intending to resubscribe this year. I do not ever enrol in any automatic resubscription for any app, but expected to get a reminder to continue my subscription when the anniversary drew near. Sure enough, at just after the 11 month mark I get an email reminder that my subscription will expire shortly, so I go to the online subscription page and I am shocked to see that my subscription charge has increased by 500% to $120 for one year. Shocked and annoyed, I immediately cancelled the possibility of renewal and deleted the app from all my units (phone, ipad and pc) on the day before it expired. Since then I have been bombarded with phone calls id’d as coming from Batesville, Texas pushing for me to re-subscribe. NO WAY, PEDRO! Jump forward to 2025 and I’m offered a year for $19. I decide to take it on so I try to download it on my PC, but get the message that it is not recognised by the Microsoft Store, so I cancel the order and receive the responce thet my membership would expire in July 2026. I send them a message informing them that, as I cannot download the app on my PC, which is where I wanted it, I requested a refund of $19 to my VISA card. I received a message that someone would contact me shortly. The result - silence. So, three weeks later I send another email request for the refund and receive the same message that someone would contact me shortly. The result this time. - silence again. It is unfortunate that I cannot award zero stars in my review, but rest assured, I will never waste any more money or time with TotalAV, other than to recommend that anyone considering spending any money with them should not walk away - they should run away.

   Total Av is impossible to get rid of. I downloaded the App, but prior to signing up I found another app i liked so i deleted this one. Total Av decided to start charging me a monthly fee, despite deleting the app. despite never having signed up. Several times i have reached out trying to cancel this company from stealing my money and each time they admit that i have no account. They still try and charge me because they are crooks. just recently i decided to block them from ever being able to charge me because although they themselves admit i have no account they still feel entitled to charge me every month. i’ve tried to reach out by email because i still get notifications that they’re attempted charges have been blocked and they just recently decided to block me from emailing as well. do not do business with this company. don’t even download their app. this is a scam. i’ve reported them to the better business bureau. there is nothing that can be done from my standpoint that i haven’t done. Total AV is an absolute nightmare they are the most unprofessional disgraceful company I’ve come across. Avoid at all costs.
