  1. 5/5Love the widgets

We have waterfront property so I’ve been using tide apps for a long time. I was settled on one app until I tried this one. It gives you everything you need and more. I love the “show reference level” option. Just tell it what tide level you are interested in and it will draw a line across the chart at that level. We have oyster bags on our beach and the tide has to be 3.6’ or lower to access them. That reference line not only shows me where the tide is at in relation to the line but is also gives you the times when the tide will be below that line. I also love the widgets as my Apple Watch now tells me what the current tide level is and if it’s coming in or going out. The app also tells you when the next high or low tide will be and even calculates how much time until that happens. The reference line and widgets sell it for me.

  2. 3/5Great but could be better

I am just an ordinary person, not a scientist, but I do have an interest in the tides. We live by the water and it’s cool to see when there’s a high-high or a low-low. It would be awesome to view this info in a chart like someone else suggested, because in the summer especially we love to go out into the Puget sound at a low-low because you can go really far out at Alki in Seattle. Makes for a fun family day. But I need the chart so I can view this info ahead of time to plan better. Would be great to also have with the sunrise/sunset. Since we are watching the moon and it’s phases, an additional cool feature would be to show which stars/planets we would see on a particular night. There are many other stars apps to use tho. I really am interested in which planets I will see in the sky especially when they are close together (like recently there was Jupiter, Saturn, mars! All within the night sky, big and bright. Thanks NOAA for amazing info tho on all of your sights/apps. My brother showed me MyRadar (he is a pilot and uses this info). I love the different layers on it.

  3. 5/5I didn’t want to post this

First: This is a GREAT app. I tried all the tide apps I could find and this is the most beautiful, one of the few with alerts, has a great widget, and is just what I need. HOWEVER: After opening it the first couple of times, and setting a couple of options, it crashes on every open. I’ve removed it and reinstalled it and just can’t get it to open. I’ve a newish iPhone (Xs) and few other apps. This has been a problem for months through any software updates along the way. Interestingly, the widget still works, so I still find it useful even though I can no longer use the app itself or change any of its settings. I’d love to ask the Tide Alert team if there is any reason this might be happening. I’d rather have emailed this directly to the app’s tech support team, but I could find no way to reach them. I do strongly suggest you try this app. It’s only the app that crashed for me (every time when I try to launch it), nothing else is effected and the rest of my phone continues working fine. If it works for you as it seems to for most people, I suspect you will like it a lot.

  4. 5/5Love this app!

This may very well be the most useful app on my phone. I live in Pawleys Island and I love walking on the beach in the evenings looking for shark’s teeth and shells. I used to google search tidecharts and usually had to search quite awhile to find the information I was looking for. Even then, it was sometimes confusing and hard to read, as most of it was really geared towards fishermen who probably needed a lot more info than I did. With this app, I can pinpoint and save all of my favorite locations, see sunrise/sunset times, and just drag my finger across the screen to find the ideal times to head out. I’ve been using it for a few months now and it has been completely accurate every time- I literally use it every day.

  5. 5/5Absolute Best

Absolutely the easiest, simplest and most well designed app for finding the tides. As a surfer and fisherman, I wanted something that I could IMMEDIATELY and clearly see what and when the tides were. Most of the time with most of these kind of apps you have to push this and push that in order just to find out one tidal period as opposed to this app which enables the user to get this kind of information with literally one push of the button. Love also the page which shows all the moon phases. Everything is also graphically pleasing to look at as well. I highly recommend this app !
