  1. 5/5Useful tool

This has been very helpful for my 10 year old. I paid for the subscription and was never able to access any of the additional functions that are supposed to be available through that. After I already paid it continued to tell me that those functions were only available through the subscription, when I clicked on subscription it informed me I already had a subscription. I cancelled the subscription but still use the app- would live to access additional features. Update- I am changing my review to 5 stars. After leaving my original review the developer reached out to me and fixed the bug that was keeping me from accessing all of the options. This was a very fast and painless process and I love the features that I’m able to now access. This is an amazing app and is one of the best tools to help my child! Thank you Thumbsters!

  2. 4/5Great behavior tracking app- Miss the iWatch program!!!

We have been big fans of the Thumbster App for the past 2 years and I always recommend it to friends. BUT the biggest draw for me was the ability to give a thumbs up from my iWatch. I didn’t have to have my phone on me and I could do it quickly and more frequently (thus generating more positive feedback for my kids). Plus it eliminated the begging of my kids to do their thumbs up from my phone. When the big app upgrade happened, the watch program disappeared and ever since then I don’t use it as frequently. I try hard not to be on my phone constantly so I just got out of the habit of giving thumbs to my kids. And when I do pull it out they always want to do it themselves, which adds even more time to the process which deters me from wanting to readily give thumbs ☹️ The best part of Thumbsters vs. sticker charts was that you didn’t have to be around it to give the “sticker”. Once you start to forget about giving them out, the kids loose their motivation and thus stop trying with the positive behavior. Loosing the iWatch capability has been a huge setback for us so I’m going to start actively looking for a new program that is iWatch compatible. If you add it back, please let me know!!

  3. 3/5Good idea, way too much clicking

The idea is to record thumbs up and thumbs down for child’s behavior and tie it to a goal or incentive. This is a tried and true method for kids behavior management. The app looks great and is fun to use but takes too long for a busy teacher or parent imo. For instance, to give a thumbs up, I have to open the app, click on the kid I want to record for (even if they’re the only kid registered btw), click on a cartoon icon of a monster’s thumbs up, click on my reason for the thumbs up, and then one more screen to choose some other useful options, that’s 5 clicks for one thumbs up if you skip all the extra options. It would be much better if once you opened the app there was a list down one side of thumbs up reasons and a list down the other side of thumbs down reasons, clicking a reason would bring you to the options page which allowed you to choose which child to assign to and anything else you wanted, and done. For 8/month 😳 I wish this app were a lot more streamlined.

  4. 5/5Very Impressed!

I never ever write reviews- but this app is something of a miracle worker. I will start by saying it does depend on the age of kids. When my kids were 3 and 4 I downloaded this app and we tried it and it didn’t fit our lives. They are now 7 and 8 and it has changed our lives over night. The beautiful thing about this app is how simple it is and customizable the ups and downs are for behavior change. My son just achieved his first goal and the animation is a reward in itself. If you’re trying to change behaviors this is the app for you. I’m a customer for the next 10 years or so and I’m looking forward to new premium packages with reports to download and a kid view companion app. This company has the secret sauce and I give them great kudos for creating such an amazing app!

  5. 3/5Great idea for tracking behaviors if I can work some kinks out

Just started using the app to track my sons ADHD behaviors as we start some new supplements and diet changes and want to keep track of any positive changes. I have also paid for the upgraded app so I could access the full reports, detailing which behaviors are increasing and decreasing and what time of day they appear to be happening. However, two things about this app are already very frustrating and I wish were different: 1. I wish I could set goals according to specific behaviors and not just by total thumbs up. For example, “Go one week without lying and get a reward”. Is it possible to do this? My biggest issue though is... 2. I often am busy or forget to put things in right when they happen and wish I could go in retrospectively. For example at night when I have a chance go back and add thumbs up or down from during the day. Otherwise in the report it looks like all behaviors are happening late at night. Also, are we able to remove a thumbs up or thumbs down that we added accidentally? I can’t figure out how to do that. These negative aspects make my review lower but maybe it is just user error and there is a way to fix these problems I’m having. If so, I’ll gladly change my review!
