  1. 5/5Thea is a game changer!

I started using Thea back in June/July this year when my skin was at its worst. I was dealing with not wanting to be seen or even looking at myself in the mirror because of the acne I was dealing with. Texture across my forehead, bumps all over my cheeks and hyperpigmentation out of this world. I started using anything I could get my hands on and unfortunately that caused me to disrupt my skin barrier… and I only knew that because Thea told me so. From the very beginning Thea recognized that not only was I dealing with the acne and hyperpigmentation mentioned earlier but that I also had very clogged pores. Thea was able to scan the ingredients of the products I was using and determined the product had multiple ingredients that cause comedones and this was a product that was viral on TikTok. Since Thea refined my routine, I barely have any texture on my forehead, minimal acne on my cheeks and my hyperpigmentation has slowly faded. While it’s only been a few months and I still have awhile to go, Thea has been my listening ear with features like the “talk to Thea” option where any and all of my questions are answered in less than 5 second and my personal dermatologist by recommendations of products that are ideal for my skin type which, I thought was dry, until Thea revealed I actually have combination sensitive skin. Also, my favorite feature has to be the picture progress tracking where I can see in real time how my skin has improved! Seeing the progress means so much and helps me stay motivated to keep going. I highly recommend Thea to everyone.

  2. 5/5Changed my skin

My breakouts are less frequent, my texture looks smoother, and my skin has a healthier glow overall. I did not realize how many ingredients were irritating me until Thea broke everything down in a way that made sense. One of the biggest differences for me is that I stopped wasting money on products that were not right for my skin. The match scores and ingredient explanations helped me figure out exactly what to keep and what to avoid. I also found a few new products I never would have tried on my own, and they have become part of my daily routine. My favorite features are the personalized routine builder and the progress photo tracking. The routine is simple to follow and it keeps me consistent. The progress photos have been great because I can actually see the changes over time and it motivates me to stay on track. I also love the dupe finder. It has saved me money without hurting the results I’m seeing. Overall, Thea has helped me understand my skin in a way I never did before. It is easy to use and it has made a big difference in both my routine and my results. Five stars.

  3. 5/5My go-to skincare app

I’ve been using Thea for a while now and it has genuinely helped my skin so much. Before this app, I was kind of guessing my routine and using a bunch of products that weren’t actually right for my skin type. The thing I love most is that I can type in any skincare or makeup product and it tells me right away if it’s a good match for my skin. I never had anything like that before, and it’s helped me avoid so many products that would’ve made my skin worse. The app also showed me that I was missing a few key steps in my routine that I didn’t even realize I needed. After adjusting my routine based on their suggestions, my breakouts are way more under control, my texture is smoother, and my skin looks so much healthier overall. I really love how easy it is to understand everything. The routines feel personalized, the ingredient explanations make sense, and it’s honestly just become my go-to tool whenever I’m buying anything for my skin. I recommend it to everyone <3

  4. 2/5scammy ads, mediocre app

I came across this app on tiktok. After downloading it, going through the skin photos and current routine and picking the 3 day free trial, I decided this app isn’t super helpful and definitely wouldn’t be worth $60 a year. I go back to tiktok to see why that one creator loved it so much. When I searched thea or thea app review, I realized that every video about it is an ad. They’re all from creators with less than 1000 followers and their bios are either “I <3 thea” or “it’s called Thea” AND alll of their videos are about the app. Not only that, these “creators” have nearly identical videos. They were obviously told what to post. I found one video where the creator was asked if it was an ad and she replied that it wasn’t. This advertising scheme is so shady and dishonest that I don’t want to support the app because of that. But as for why the app is mediocre, it just analyzes your face and products. I wish there was a way to categorize products as owned but not currently in use. It can analyze if a product is a good match for your concerns, but it doesn’t take into account how you really shouldn’t be using too many actives at once. It doesn’t help you build a routine beyond identifying products as a good or bad match. Definitely not worth the money.

  5. 3/5Pretty good

I really appreciate the app for not having to pay a whole lot! The option that lets you formulate a routine is extremely helpful as it lets you know what products will not react well together. My only issue was the scanner. I’m not sure if it’s just me, but my freckles got mistaken for pimples so it completely messed up my progress, which of course I get as it’s an ai scan and not a real in-person checkup. However, when I asked the Thea AI chat how to delete scans, it told me to click on the button that scans your face and click a clock, but I didn’t see a clock. (Or a history button which it also said to look for) I also checked whether or not the delete option was just for people with a subscription and it was not. I wasn’t subscribed but I still had all of the abilities it came with. This doesn’t affect me too much but it is quite frustrating since there’s no visible option to delete or flag scans as wrong, and I can also see how people who mainly rely on Thea for the scans would be angry with this issue. Nice app overall, just one very frustrating issue.
