1. 5/5Perfect Baby Book for the Modern Mom

   The Short Years baby book app is absolutely genius! I’m a first time mom with a 10 week old and there is no way that I would have completed this much of my daughter’s baby book already if it weren’t for the ease and convenience of The Short Years app. The notifications from the app to answer a question are so helpful in keeping me on track with completing the book. I knew that a traditional baby book would never work for me since I am a perfectionist and so I started looking for a digital baby book or an app & came across this one. There was no way that I would set time aside to sit and write each entry (while also making sure my handwriting was perfect), so the fact that the app is on my phone & I always have my phone on me makes it so easy to complete questions. I also love that you can edit the answers and you control when they are sent to be printed. There are several questions already that I have edited my response to multiple times. In addition to the app being wonderful, the baby book itself is a beautiful book! I opted for the additional keepsake envelope & have so far used it to hold baby shower invites, hospital bracelets and the footprints from the hospital. I can’t wait to have a finished baby book when my daughter turns 1 and that is all thanks to The Short Years app! I would 100% recommend this to anyone on the fence - it is well worth the money!

2. 5/5Beautiful and Easy!

   I will be a first-time mom and between my job and everything else going on in life, I was worried I would not be able to keep up with a baby book, which was creating a lot of anxiety and guilt. I’m also the kind of person who does not particularly enjoy writing (not to mention I HATE my own handwriting), and I’m also not a fan of those traditional/cutesy baby books. I was looking for an app that was not only quick and painless, but would also give me a beautiful and professional looking product at the end. I wanted something to proudly display in my living room that doesn’t scream “baby”. The Short Years is perfect if you love the minimalist feel as it’s very simple, clean, and presents a really beautiful layout. I am still building my first chapter so haven’t had anything printed just yet, but I love that I can preview my pages beforehand and know what they’ll look like when shipped to me. I also love that I only pay a one-time charge in the beginning and that is it—there’s no monthly fee like you find with other apps. You just tell them when you’re ready to have your pages printed and they ship it for free. I feel confident that I’ll actually be able to complete a book for my first child which I know will be enjoyed by family and friends for years to come. Thank you for taking away the burden and making this an enjoyable task for busy moms!

3. 5/5An Absolute NECESSITY

   I will buy The Short Years baby book for all of my babies and will give as the perfect baby shower gift always because The Short Years baby book/app has accomplished exactly what it set out to do, give you convenience and memories documented in the cutest way. As a first time mom, I seriously underestimated the lack of sleep I would be getting due to babies wake up cycle to eat and being able to get prompts done on my phone while breastfeeding is a GAME CHANGER. Having to choose to skip documenting your little one due to not having the time (or energy) to print pictures and paste them in a book and hand write prompts is so sad but honestly so realistic. If I didn’t have the short years app, I would have a very bare and incomplete documentation of my Emmy due to the lack of sleep and time to myself to get it done. The Short Years App/book is such a perfect way to capture my little girl. My book is current, I can easily get done prompts while she’s nursing or sleeping and I just scroll and add pictures. I don’t have to worry about remembering to buy the pages and pick them up, it gets delivered and ITS PAID FOR already. Seriously, it can’t get easier than this. And my book is so so beautiful. It looks like I spent so much time on it. It’s perfect in every way. I’m so so grateful I chose to use this book! The Short Years is my hero!

4. 5/5Great for All Types of Parents and Birth/Postpartum Situations

   My son was unexpectedly born at 24 weeks and spent the first 8 months of his life in the NICU before he was able to come home. Most baby books have set prompts that can be triggering for parents with birth and postpartum situations that don’t fit what is typically expected when having a baby. As I worked on my son’s baby book in this app during his hospitalization, it meant a lot that I could edit the prompts to be whatever made sense for us given our circumstances of having holidays in the hospital and having different types of milestones. I also appreciate that this baby book offers the option to include chapters on infertility and NICU stay since these are meaningful chapters for my family’s journey and the journeys of many others. Working on this while my son was hospitalized, really helped me get through the hard times and gave me something positive to focus on. I genuinely have so much love for this baby book, and the ease of use of this app, that I’ve told so many other NICU mom’s about it too. I’m so glad this exists and recommend it to parents of all situations! My son is 13 months (9 months adjusted) now, but I had already purchased the toddler years and will be adding their products for documenting memories of school-age children in the future!

5. 5/5Absolutely love it! Easy and beautiful.

   This baby book has been the BEST decision I made. I discovered this app about 2 months before my little girl was born and decided to purchase it because it seemed so user friendly. I really really love it! It’s a very easy app to use. They’ve upgraded along the way so there are even more options now than there were when I first signed up. I like the photo layouts, but I really really love the reminders. They make sure I don’t fall behind. The questions help you think through new moments as they happen. I just recently upgraded to the Toddler Years and I’m excited to keep using The Short Years for those too. Also, I just have to give a huge HUGE shoutout about their customer service. It’s amazing! My husband and I were recently going through our baby book and realized we were missing 3 chapters. I checked the app and sure enough, it showed they had shipped. We looked all over wondering if somehow we had misplaced them or put them somewhere different for any reason. No luck. I was assuming they got lost in the mail. I was super super bummed. I reached out to Short Years just this weekend assuming I’d have to pay for those pages again. But after explaining the situation their customer service, Carley replied and let me know she was shipping the replacement pages out right away for me for no additional charge. You guys, that is INCREDIBLE and this Mama is so so so happy!!! They’ll have a customer for life after that and you bet I’ll be singing their praises forever. I am excited for my replacement pages to arrive so year one can officially be “done” and I’m excited to keep filling out more memories as the years with our little girl keep rolling. Thank you for an amazing product and thank you for incredible customer service!
