5/5Great Support and best app in the market for Play Design/Development
We utilize the app at the high school and Jr program level. Once you get an understanding of general play design, the user interface makes designing plays a breeze! Additionally, it’s great to give our coaches and athletes access for play study. We also give d coordinators access to design and draft defensive plays. The all in one solution for plays call sheets and wristband print outs are awesome. We have various size wristbands and they accommodate all sizes that we have used. Please note, an extensive playbook, with over 90 plays would require a 5 screen wristband. During 7v7 season we do design specialty plays and insert diagrams in to wristbands which is awesome; our athletes pick up on these pretty quickly. The best part; customer service! We had an incident in which a coach accidentally deleted our entire playbook (you can changes access to not allow any changes, which we’ve done). I reached out to their customer support, and they resolved the solution by restoring our playbook (app is cloud based, when changes are made it syncs to all users). Communication was quick and the playbook was restored within the hour. Jeremy at Playmaker; you’re a life saver! Originally I was using PowerPoint and creating my own playbooks because I didn’t like the functionality of the apps available, another coach from another team that coached 7on7 with said he used this app so I tried it out and haven’t used anything since. They keep adding functions that make it even better. I also love that I can add my coaching staff and players. I was using Playmaker Tackle for tackle and Playmaker Flag for 7 but just decided to use Playmaker Tackle and reduce the player count so I didn’t have to pay for both apps and just archive the playbook I am not using during that season. I will stay a user fora long time!

4/5I really it, but….
I’ve used playmaker tackle football and playmaker flag for a few years now. Both were pretty useful in putting ideas down on paper in a clear and concise way. Playmaker x continues In the tradition of the previous playmakers, but it has added animation to the app. I really love the animation. The coaches I work with like and the kids really liked as well. The problem have is that it isn’t as easy to use as I would like it to be. Animating the players is pretty easy. Point then in a direction and they move. Animating the football is a much tougher. As a person with big hands, it’s tough for me to move the football without moving the lineman, Qb or running back. A fix to this would be a zoom feature onto the screen so that u can actually see what you’re trying to do. It would make following the lines a lot easier as well. The football should also default to the star player on the screen. That would help with making the plays. There are also a few widgets in the program that I haven’t seen defined. So I don’t know what their purpose is for.

The Playmaker X app is an outstanding tool for coaches and athletes alike. 5/5Love it! One suggestion…
Love the app and functionality, but I have one major update worth considering that I think is missing…. You’re able to add players, update their names, numbers and even position they play, but no depth chart. A drag and drop depth chart would be amazing. Or even just the ability to assign and view the depth chart as a whole, with the ability to add/remove players or move them up/down the depth chart as the season goes. Please consider!

As a coach, you know that what people see on game day represents just a small fraction of the personal investment you make in your team, club or program. The behind-the-scenes work isn't flashy, but it's essential to operating a team. The Operator Update has something for all our coaches, whether you're the leader of a multi-team club or high school program, a play caller designing and organizing playbooks, or a solo volunteer using Playmaker in the huddle. Multi-Team Management • Central location for viewing status of all teams, managing subscriptions and transferring team ownership. • Delete old, unused teams that you created. • Remove yourself from teams you were invited to join but no longer need. • Easier to create multiple teams - no more "log out and back in" workaround. • When you log back into the app at the end of offseason or on a new device, you'll see a full list of your teams to make it clearer which team you want to load before renewing. • Clearer highlight in the main menu to show which team you currently have loaded. Playbooks • When using the app out in the field, it was too easy to accidentally reorder plays in the gallery. This caused problems when the app was out of order with player wristbands. Sorting is now locked by default and can be unlocked temporarily when you actually want to rearrange plays. • New field background option with 5 yard lines that include yardage depth indicators (5, 10, 15, 20, etc.) displayed on the left and right. • Category and Formation edit buttons were too hard to discover. Moved them to the sidebar footer and added a label. • Playbook imports and transfers now include any opponent icons/routes added on the original diagrams. Fundamentals • Improved clarity on the minimal required info when adding a team member to the roster. • Corrected a sizing error with the 3.75" wristband width option. • Refined some icons and other visual elements. • Resolved an issue with iOS safe areas taking up too much space on some devices. • Other bug fixes & performance improvements.
