First of all, the tutorial content still refers to the Democratic presidential candidate as Biden. I thought her name was Harris? Also, the back arrow is there, but it’s not visible. It only worked because I guessed where it would be. It also assumed I wanted a text every day about basically nothing (Note: you can turn them off by texting STOP). Finally a problem that I can’t get back to my list of contacts after leaving it the first time. The outdated tutorials even show a button that’s not there anymore. I love the concept of this app but the reality is a bit messy.

2/5I Always Vote Blue, But This Can't be Vote Worthy Due to Accessibility
My primary complaint, as a blind person and in a party that I hope would make accessibility a priority, this one fell very flat. Jimmy Carter's 1980 campaign did better than this. After trying to use it for 15 frustrating minutes, it was clear that this would not be a tool I would have any use for. Before the 2024 campaign, you must roll out a completely redesigned outreach tool and it must meet accessibility standards. Bad look folks, bad look. App deleted.

2/5Hung up on undeliverable message and had to delete
This app was doing wonderfully until a message was undeliverable, at which point it hung up and wouldn’t let me do anything. I finally removed it from my iPhone and will try reinstalling. Hopefully that’ll work, but I assume I’ll have lost the record of who I already messaged.

5/5Made it really easy for me to reach out to friends in other states and get them voting
It feels difficult right now to care so much about the election and be stuck at home unable to knock doors or go to a field office. Swipe Blue is a super simple tool that’s made it easy for me to organize my friends and family members and turn them out to vote for Joe Biden and the Democratic ticket.

5/5Easy way to GOTV!
Since voter registration info is public record, this app is great for helping ensure that everyone is ready and registered to vote this fall! It doesn’t violate privacy any more than Facebook or Instagram (and in fact, probably less so!) Five stars all around.
