  1. 5/5Best App in the Category

Phenomenal app. You rarely see purpose-built thoughtfully designed apps that have a very fair & usable free tier — this reminds me of favorites like Flighty or Slopes. I used it religiously to figure out where to sit in the library and not get blinded by the sun. I’d spend 8-12 hrs daily studying for my medical exams and having to pack up and move a few hrs in because of the sun was a huge hassle. I tried every sun tracker app out there and stumbled on this one the first week it was published; it far and away the best on the market. Absolutely something I’d pay for if I was using it commercially (ie. Film industry), but the free tier is perfect for a student just trying to find a place it sit. Outstanding job.

  2. 5/5Great app for 3 key reasons!

Quick Summary: This is an amazing sun tracker app, it gives you all the information that you could ever need in an app like this, specifically catered towards filmmakers. The UI interface is unique, creative, and sleek while at the same time managing to fit impressive amounts of information. Support for all Apple devices except for Apple TV, which is irrelevant to check the sun anyways. Great App! This app is truly the best option for a sun tracker app, to date. In this review I will explain why I think so, and who I think that this app is meant for. I think that this app is so amazing, one of the reasons being the information that it gives you access to. Anything that you would need to know about the sun, you can find here. And the info is specifically tuned to give helpful information for film making, at least in my experience (I do filming for fun). So if you are a filmmaker and do any work outside, Sunlitt is a must-have. Secondly, the presentation is so pristine. The UI is incredibly clean, and shadows are demonstrated in a new, unique way, which is absolutely amazing to visualize light color and shadow length, but if you want more precise info about those two, you look at the floating info window on the left (Mac), pull up the info menu from the bottom (iPhone), or scroll down to the info tab (Apple Watch). And this is consistent across all platforms! Finally, I want to talk about compatibility. This app is available on all of your apple devices, with the one exception of your Apple TV, although I don’t think many of us would check the sun’s position on a TV regardless. This is one of the key things that other apps might compromise on, weather that be not having support for your devices entirely, or having a worse app on one platform than another. This kind of brings me to my next sub-point, which is that the information is consistent across all platforms. Everything in the info menu is the same on all devices (aside from the Moonlitt tab that doesn’t exist on Apple Watch, as well as the map that doesn’t exist on Apple Watch). I think that not including the map on the Apple Watch app was a good decision because it would be impossible to see anything on such a small screen (even on an Apple Watch Ultra). And I think that the developers are currently working on a Moonlitt app for Apple Watch, so that should be fixed shortly (if Moonlitt comes to Apple Watch I will subscribe for life).

  3. 5/5Incredible

It’s amazing how the app shows the sun’s path all around you. You can really immerse in places all around the world and check sun data and weather. You gotta try it, spatial computing at its finest!

  4. 2/5Great app, but the watch complications are buggy

The phone app is awesome and a great way to determine the suns path according to your orientation. That’s exactly what I was looking for and it’s exactly what this app does, among many other more advanced things. My only complaint is with everything regarding the watch complications on the Apple Watch Series 11. They either don’t work or show up at all, or are super buggy. The app itself on the watch is super buggy as well and there’s few very basic and not very informative complications

  5. 5/5The best Sun tracking app 🌞

Tried a few, but Sunlitt is the one I stuck with. The colors and hues are amazing! It’s simple, looks great, and the AR view is super helpful when I’m out shooting
