  1. 5/5you need this if you have "focus trouble" and use stage manager with an external display

i love using stage manager with a second screen but sometimes you really need to focus on one thing and not get distracted and either duplicate the displays or find something for the other screen that won't distract you - something more conducive to focusing on the other screen. even the home screen makes it hard when i'm trying to focus on on my writing. this app though? it's absolutely perfect. you can set it to a flowing pattern with no beat if you're listening to stuff with complex time or if you're listening to a big long trance mix you just put the beat in and you're good for as long as the music goes. now when you look at the other screen there's a soothing mathematical that helps you become more focused instead of less, and you can look at the monitor that's set up for your optimal neck posture when typing i figure this would also work with someone with adhd but all i know is it works for me and i have a dissociative disorder oh but please make sure to read the actual description on here because the app itself will not tell you how to set a beat!

  2. 5/5Motion has stopped with new color option

Hey, folks! After the last update, my vertical swipes are broken. Everything else works, but all motion except “beats” has stopped. Can’t get anything to move, fast or slow, except beats. Can you patch / fix?

  3. 5/5this is honestly cool if you know how to use it

i've been vibing with this at times whenever i get bored, and it helps relax a bit as well. here's how to work it by the way: landscape view controls only double tap sides = switch form tap center = bpm control (need to have good rhythm) tap middle (NOT CENTER) = bpm reset hold for ~4 seconds = color switch (red/white only) anyways, cool app!

  5. 1/5I’ll do you a favor

This app is less than what you would expect a high school student could develop. That’s 5 minutes of my life I’m not getting back.

Added a new spiral mode. Wider range of motion in full-motion mode, and a smoother speed gradient. Also, new controls. Swipe up/down to accelerate/decelerate. Swipe left/right to switch between modes.

  • 1.0

Added a new mode: Source. Swipe all the way right to get it.

  • 1.1

    Smoother transitions between modes.

  • 1.2

Bug was squashed. Speed and smoothness tweaks.

  • 1.25

    Speed optimizations. Minor transition tweaks.

  • 1.30

You can now tap the screen to pulse the visualizer. Some speed tweaks.

  • 1.35

Some refactoring that should speed things up.

  • 1.42

Update from the latest Zone Trip: new beat modes added. New controls: Tap on the upper half of the screen to set a beat interval. Tap on the lower half of the screen to cancel beat interval and create a single beat. Other controls continue to work as before: Horizontal swipes switch animation modes. Vertical swipes change speed for motion modes (speed setting persists across modes).

  • 1.43

Many improvements on beat timing. Once you set the beat interval accurately, it should stay in sync much longer. Now you can also set an exact BPM remotely over UDP. See http://subflow.org/controls.html for details.

  • 1.44

You can now set remote BPM up to 480.

  • 1.47

Added UDP command sequencer that can set exact BPM and speed, and construct long visualization sequences. Updated to fit new iPad mini.

  • 1.50

Controls change. Horizontal swipes now fine-tune the beat alignment (+/- 50ms). To change modes, tap left or right edge of screen.

  • 1.60

This update couples BPM and speed in the following way: whenever BPM changes (manually or via UDP) the speed is automatically updated so that triangles reach the front at the same rate as the beats. Afterwards, you can still change the speed manually or via UDP. Therefore, if you sequence the BPM and SPD commands in one UDP string, you will get the exact BPM and speed you requested, regardless of this update. E.g. "BPM:122.0:0;SPD:0.3:0;"

  • 2.01

Added OS2L support (see http://os2l.org/). subflow can now receive beats and beat magnitude from compatible DJ software. It can also switch modes with payload {"evt":"cmd","id":23,"param":N} where N is the mode number (0..7).

  • 2.03

Added OS2L support (see http://os2l.org/). subflow can now receive beats and beat magnitude from compatible DJ software. It can switch modes with command 23. Command parameter is the mode number (0..7). It can launch a preloaded sequence with command 17. Command parameter 100 = start, 0 = delete sequence, anything else pauses sequence It can change the size of the pulses with command 11. Command parameter 0% = smallest, 100% = largest, 50% = no pulse Command 7 determines whether to drive the beats directly (100%) or just send current BPM (0%)

  • 2.11

Added red mode for low-light scenes. Activate/deactivate with long press, or via UDP and OS2L (see https://subflow.org/controls.html)

  • 2.13

Added 64-bit color palette. Set via UDP or OS2L (see https://subflow.org/controls.html). Long press on the screen or remote will switch between white (default) and red (low light).

  • 2.14

Updated for XCode 26.3. Refactored fragile code and improved command parsing. Finally added some tests; only for the iOS version, but all that code is common with the TV app. Functional change: transitions from/to spiral mode should be smoother and prettier. Due to Apple's new entitlements: if using UDP to send commands to the app, you will need to allow network discovery. Connections from a DJ deck (OS2L) should work as before with no new authorizations needed.

  • 2.15

Updated from AppDelegate to UIScene to avoid future deprecation. No functional changes.

  • 2.16 · 6 Jul 2026

New: Pinch in/out to change line thickness (and overall brightness) Fixed a bug where the app could get stuck in OFF mode. Added some input sanitization of the UDP API.
