1. 5/5Awesome App with a couple of drawbacks

   This app is great. It really is just like having a personal trainer. You can figure out your macros and calories from your goals. It gives you meal plans. It will give you a workout plan. It reminds you to workout. It gives you a grocery list for your meals. The meal options are pretty good. I have tried one thing I didn’t like and that was more a personal preference thing. I thought I would give it a try and see if I could learn to like it (I couldn’t, it was disgusting to me). It lets you have an option for a “cheat” day or meal. You can pick the days you want to workout. When you go to do strength training for exercises you haven’t done before in the app, it guides you through a strength test. It has warm ups and cool downs. This app is pretty complete. The only cons are the user interface and the ease of use. I wouldn’t say this app is completely intuitive. It takes a bit of searching around to figure certain things out. The user interface is just okay. It isn’t show stopping, not that I necessarily expect that from a fitness app. When I didn’t understand how to really use this app it kind of frustrated me. Now that I have all the basics of it down, I really love it and recommend it to all of my friends.

2. 5/5If you’re having trouble losing weight, this is the app for you

   I don’t ever review apps. I’ve been using this for about a year now though. I was on the low end of the obese scale. I tried everything, and I mean EVERYTHING to lose weight. I’d fluctuate by 10lbs monthly. I saw doctors and dieticians and it never made a difference with my weight loss. So I finally got this app, and a lifting app. I have lost about 40lbs now. This app is very easy to use, and the meals can either be simple or if you like to cook, more complex. It’s super easy to save meals you like and ignore ones you don’t, so you don’t get them again. It makes a nice grocery list for you. It even gives you a workout plan if you don’t have another one to use. You can add your own recipes too. I really didn’t think I needed as much protein as this app gives me since I’m mostly sedentary. I do not workout super often, and my lifting is limited due to injuries. My working out consists of walking and light lifting with my other app. Apparently all I needed was to up my protein game to lose weight, and this app makes it so easy to do so. If you have trouble losing weight, give this app a shot. I’m beyond happy with my progress so far.

   I had lost some weight during my Covid isolation and was searching for a program to tone up some sagging skin. I’ve never worked with weights and only exercised as a byproduct of competition. Therefore I have no weights at home and expected to muddle through any exercise program to find a routine to fit my needs. The Strongr Fastr app anticipated my situation and initially gave me the option of workouts with or without weights or a combination of weights and exercise. The exercises were well planned and provided several levels from beginner to Mr. Universe. As an example, I knew deep knee bends would be very beneficial, but avoided them because I have a diminishing sense of balance. The app provided a simple solution: hold the back of a chair during that portion of the workout. A week later I was doing knee bends without requiring any balance aids. Each exercise is accompanied with very clear and concise video instructions. There is also a brilliantly planned dietary program with a variety of easily prepared, nutritious meals. The participant can input the number of calories he or she wishes to consume and the app will handle the proportions. And that’s where my problem with Strongr Fastr developed. I somehow ended up with only two choices of meals and was too technologically inept to return to the selection page. The app developer included an invitation to bring any problems or concerns to his attention which I did. A week later I’m still awaiting a response. This is a wonderful, well-designed fitness program that even I can follow. What I require is guidance on using the app.

   My top three favorite features are the macro tracking, the budgeting feature, and my personal favorite- adding your own recipes. I’ve tried I think every app on the market and this one is the best one I’ve used. It’s a very easy app to use and the most customizable. I think an extra cool bonus feature down the road would be if it was a possibility to select certain nutrients you wanted to prioritize in your diet and you could keep track of that nutrition aspect. Just looking at things from a functional medicine perspective where like someone with celiacs might be more deficient in b vitamins whereas someone with thyroid issues might be looking to prioritize copper more.. ect… I know the app can’t diagnose treat or prescribe. But like if you are someone who’s already done functional medicine stuff to be able to prioritize those nutrients.

5. 3/5Please make it easier to add and find recipes.

   I use this app for the meal plan and it has seriously changed my health journey. I can’t cook to save my life and recipes without macro information were always a pain to calculate. I just don’t have the time. This app does everything for me in one place: makes sure I’m hitting my macros, tracks them, I can decide how diverse I want my meals, how much I can spend, and any dietary restrictions. I LOVE this app. My only issue is when it comes to meal options. I feel I get the same options all the time. It also seems like if you say you have no restrictions, the system will never offer vegan, paleo, keto or vegetarian meal options when you’re trying to swap. Even though I eat meat, I like tofu and would like to have that option as a snack, but it never pops up and there is no way to search for an item when seeking to swap for another. I also think it’s too difficult to put in a recipe. I still haven’t even fully figured that out. I have a cookbook with the macros for each recipes. Why can I not just plug in the recipe and macros? It requires you to put every single ingredient in the system, so it can calculate it. A bit too much work when I already have the macros right in front of me.

   Very practical meal planning app that adapts to your needs and its easy to replace a meal. The app also shows the calories breakdown on a daily basis. I tried many other apps but this one works for me. There are also physical workout routines.
