  1. 4/5Best E scorebook I’ve used so far!

I used StrikeEmOut for the first time today to score a ML game as I listened to it on the radio. I liked that it is so similar to scoring with pencil and paper, as I used my Apple Pencil and iPad. Here are a few suggestions for improvement: -I was very impressed that I could easily import the line ups for the games, but disappointed that the uniform numbers of the players did not import. Maybe an update can import the numbers? -I found it very annoying that if I touched a previously completed play it immediately erased the play I'd input and replaced it with a "K". Sometimes this happened without me even knowing it, so I may have lost the play. Perhaps a future update can add a lock function to completed plays (with the ability to unlock to edit), or a question "Do you want to edit this play?" so that completed plays remain unchanged when inadvertently touched. -Colors: How about automatically asking for a color change when a pitcher changes, to make the batters faced by each pitcher a different color. -And I like the Export Game as Image. How about Export as a pdf? -And the "View Player Hitting Stats..." doesn't seem to work. The list of player has correct AB, R, H, RBI numbers, but when I open an individual player all the stats are goose eggs. -And how about the ability to add a written narrative to a play, explaining in words what happened for those confusing plays. But so far so good - the best e-scoresheet I've seen so far.

  2. 5/5The Best App for a paper-like experience

I’ve tried every app for keeping score and I’ve always just resulting in using a note taking app and one of the scorecards that I made. Not anymore. This is the only way I keep score now. It is absolutely amazing and feels like the closest thing to paper scoring. Has some great features like as you scroll and zoom you still see the inning and batter information. There are only a few things I would love to see changed or added (probably more added) and a single issue. The issue first: when tallying the score for the pitchers when I scroll to the right, I wish it showed what the rows were, similar to how the batter information is when scrolling across the innings. Features I wish I could be added, I would love to be able to set default settings for my pages rather than having to modify them every time. I love being able to set the color of my drawn notes as well as the scoring notes and color of the sheet itself, but I hate that I have to do it every time. Not a huge problem but I think it would be nice. The last thing I would love to see is for the pitchers where I could actually tally up the pitch count with balls and strikes. You can currently tally up the number of calls and swung at strikes (not that big of a deal for me) but the total pitches is not there like you would normally see. These are just some things I think could improve it but are not at all needed as this app is already superb and once you get the hang of it, it’s super quick to use.

  3. 5/5Very Good App but a lot of room to improve

I have used the app for 6 games. I have been mostly satisfied with it. I use on an IPad, and usually score games when I get home from work. The Pros: I enjoy the fact that I can pick up the game where it is at and then go back to fill in the rest. Feels like a real paper scorecard. I think the customization is excellent and I especially like that pitch’s can be recorded either with an X or by number, swing, called, Time Violation. This is one of the best features. In my original review I was critical of the response time for help. That has seriously improved. Also many of my cons have been addresses so I feel I can improve my rating. I still wish that there was a clear option in side the Play Section. Also that the app would import information better like pitchers and catchers. Overall I would highly recommend the app. Especially given the willingness to improve the app.

  4. 5/5Simply the best

This is far and away the best baseball scoring app on the App Store. It’s the closest thing to a paper scorecard as you can get on a digital device without resorting to marking up PDFs. It’s easily earned all 5 stars from me, and has become my go-to scoring method. Awesome features include: - An option to import MLB game lineups once they’ve been released. - A robust mark up system that lets you do almost anything, and an option to just draw it yourself in the rare cases you can’t do what you need. - You can add innings or add a second column to an inning on-the-fly without impacting data. I can’t overstate how much I love this. - Both light and dark modes are well done and you can set custom colors too. - Super quick to create a game, import a lineup, and get scoring. - Ability to back up data and export score cards. My feedback would be, and this is getting extremely nit-picky mind you: - A separate field to specify the venue. - The option to hide the ball/strike boxes for when you don’t feel like tracking them. - The ability to have separate scoring colors for home and visitor without having to switch each time. - An option to make the filled in diamonds from a run a bit darker or lighter (for light and dark mode respectively) so they visually pop a bit more. Seriously though, this app is outstanding and even if none of the above is ever implemented I’ll keep using it.

  5. 5/5Great app. Easy to use.

Makes watching and scoring baseball more fun. Good historical record of great games played in the past. Only two wishes are to have more lines for pitchers on heavy rotation days (game 7 WS - Toronto) and an easy way to update pitching stats per inning without switching teams. Almost feel opposing pitchers should appear on same page as opposing batters but do not do this as the app would make it appear that the opposing pitchers were part of the same team as the batters.

HUGE update! • Ever feel confined by the text boxes and the taps? No more! Ever wanted to draw your own home-run line, or ground ball dashes, or have your own handwriting on the score? Well, YOU CAN NOW DRAW ON THE SCORECARD! Whaaaaatttttt. First zoom in, and then tap the "Draw" button at the top of the page! Use your finger or a stylus. You can change how wide of a line to draw in settings, and (of course) the color is customizable too! Wowee! • Edits are now quick and easy for editing the score or the base path numbers! Long press and it takes you to a new mini menu to update that score! Want the full screen? No problem, either tap the "More" button or long press somewhere outside of the field! (like on the RBI spot, for example). • More power to customize requires more power to fix it! Now the "Undo" and "Redo" buttons will keep on workin‘ as you switch between home/visiting teams, and even when you close the app and come back to score your game later! Woo hoo! Hope you enjoy these off-season updates! Idk about you, but we're already ready for baseball season to start back up!
