3/5566% increase in buyer premiums
I have bought several storage units from this site. I bought one today and found out they made changes to buyer premiums. I purchased a $10 locker and was charged another $10 for the buyer premium. A fee of $10 for a locker that would not have sold at all just like a couple others that just ended and nobody purchased. It used to be 15% of the sale price, now it is 18% or $10, WHICHEVER is HIGHER, unless you want to buy a subscription. A $10 fee for a $10 locker is crazy when it used to only cost $1.50! That is an increase of 566%! That is pure greed! Total rip off for people who are occasional buyers especially considering how terrible the photos have been lately and how many of the lockers have been ran through and do not match the photos when you go to pick them up. They will offer you a refund but when you waste your personal time, rent a truck and purchase gas to drive 20-30 miles to a locker, only to find out the employees done went through everything, or the locker was listed at the wrong location, it is EXTREMELY irritating! Not to mention many of the facilities take junk and trash from who knows where and will just throw it all on the ground of a unit and sell it as if it belonged to someone. It’s always the same locations that do it so you cannot tell me it is legit. These locations do not ever list normal looking units they will ALWAYS consist of a bunch of random junk and trash thrown on the ground.

3/5Let’s do better….
I’ve bought several storage units over the last year or so and my experiences overall have been pleasant. I will say that there is definitely some theft & deceit present at some of these storage facilities. Not to mention the atrocious photography by some of these employees with some type of flip phone. That has to improve. Maybe have a dedicated camera or recent model phone available as well as a brief seminar on auctions & photography for employees. Also some of these fees are becoming excessive. I’m a guy who gets an adrenaline rush when hunting for the sometimes hidden treasures in these lockers, so quality photos is a must. Please look into making this the best experience possible for the consumer by paying attention to detail. Thank you.

1/5Sign Up-Er Beware
Right off the bat when signing up for an account, you’re asked to verify your identity by providing photo verification of yourself & a form of gov’t issued ID, along with the “option” (lol) to give away your ssn. Then your asked identifying questions as a follow up. If you have questions regarding this process you’re directed to a small blog post containing info about something named “identiflo”… which after googling returns very few matching results.. 1, of which also appears to be the most recent, from 2022 by a company that doesn’t even promote their “identiflo” system on their current webpage, instead boasting about a different ID verification system….Absolutely zero info is given on what safeguards “Storage Treasures” has in place to safeguard the info we’re expected to just hand over to them no questions asked.. is the info destroyed immediately? Is it stored on a server? If so, what kind of encryption is used to protect that server? In today’s age, these are all some of the most basic things a company asking for this info should readily put forth… You can sit there and snicker “oh he’s overreacting… what’s he trying to hide? Hmmmmm?” … & the answer is simply .. nothing at all.. blindly follow the interwebs all you want… just know that to the online criminal underworld.. your photo id, payment info, & possibly even your ssn!!?? Is basically the same as a crackhead who finds himself locked in the evidence holding room inside an empty police precinct…

1/5Glitch or bug changing bid amount
Three times now my bid changed to something much higher and completely random than what I submitted. I bid 60 or 80 and it changed to 240. I bid 20 and it changed to 390 but luckily that one I was able to catch and correct before it submitted. The other ones changed after hitting return to submit the bid. The first two times I let it slide and was going to report it if it happened again. The third time it changed my bid from $140 to $720 and caused me to “win” the auction. I did not place a max bid of $720 and watched it change in front of my eyes after submitting. I hit return and right before it submitted it changed and there was nothing I could do on my end to stop it. I used Safari on Mac and their website to bid. I’ve been bidding for years without any problems. This one is absolutely insane. When I realized it happened again and I was the high bidder, I immediately reported it as a bug and chatted them and called the facility. They just treated me as if I did something wrong and charged me the buyer premium anyway. I am a tech and know user error, fat finger typos from non user errors. I was going to screen record this problem on future bids but can’t because they suspended my account!

1/5Bad
To whom it may concern: I had won this auction, but as the scheduled end time approached, the seller extended the deadline by an additional three hours. Furthermore—as those three extra hours were drawing to a close—no one had placed any further bids; then, with just three minutes remaining, someone finally did. I placed a counter-bid, but another person immediately outbid me again. I strongly suspect this was the seller themselves... because they weren't going to make the amount of money they wanted. In my view, this constitutes fraud, as they failed to honor the posted schedule, leading to this entire situation. This kind of behavior is very discouraging for people who are looking to purchase items. Please take steps to rectify these situations, as my husband, other family members, and I rely on your platform to acquire goods. If this continues, we—along with many others—will stop using your services. And, of course, when we share our negative experiences with others, they take that into consideration—just as we took others' recommendations into consideration when we first decided to shop here. Thank you very much.
