1. 1/5New app design makes it actively difficult to buy smoothies.

   When this app updated to its new design, it did not carry over any of my information, even after logging back in. I lost my rewards, gift card, and “recently ordered” option. I order the same thing on the same day every week which used to be incredibly simple and only required hitting a couple buttons. Now, I have to scroll through ad after ad for their newest smoothies that I do not want to find the only thing on the menu that I care about. Then, since the app no longer saves my information, I have to re-type in payment info every time. Because I have an older phone, the screen sizing is wrong and there are some buttons within the app that I can’t even click. I used to frequently order from my local smoothie king, as it was one of the only things I could muster the appetite to eat in the morning, but now I have not ordered from smoothie king in about a month because every time I try, I get frustrated and run out of time before I have to leave for work. The only reason I can think that the app changed was to make us sift through more menu options in hopes that we will spend more money, but it had the complete opposite effect for me.

2. 1/5features so redundant I finally got mad enough to write a review

   this app is garbage. also, it pauses your music when you open it. absolutely nothing in the smoothie king app is worthy of pausing my music for. I love a banana boat as much as the next guy, but I’m not pausing my music for it. if anything my music getting paused makes me briefly so angry that sometimes I close the app and decide I don’t want a smoothie anymore. the smoothie king app makes no noise. therefore it should not pause my music when I open it. also, I find it funny how my “subtotal has to be $10 to order delivery” and a medium banana boat is $9.90. funny! very funny. luckily I have so many inclusions to choose from that are all 99¢ each even tho some of them are worth 10¢ at MOST. whatever. you’re running a business I get it. but what I don’t think YOU get is that I LIKE my banana boat smoothie AS IS . I don’t WANT inclusions and I don’t want to HAVE to add them in order to get delivery. I can’t drive. If I could pick it up myself, I would. but that’s not what I’m here to talk about. no. I need to talk about the service fee information button. I’ve spent a lot of time this evening staring at the check out page of the smoothie king app, because I desperately want my banana boat but am being barred from it by corporate greed. regardless, I noticed that next to the service fee label, there’s an information button. par for the course in delivery apps. so I click on it, foolishly assuming that it will give me information, perhaps as to what exactly my precious $2.89 will be used for. my answer? it’s a service button. that’s right folks, the info button next the the service button fee label informs you that it’s a service fee. phew! thank god! that was almost really scary! I hope the person who coded that has as bad a night as I’m having right now.

3. 2/5Love the Rewards, Hate the app location

   Smoothie King is great. The rewards are solid in this app. And I could easily give a 5 star review if they would just fix one thing: How the app auto selects the location you are ordering from. Multiple times now, the app has randomly switched what location it is auto choosing for me to order from - which causes problems. For example, for the last several weeks, I have only ordered from the Airport Road location after working out at my gym. It is the location that is closest to the gym and it is the location I ordered from consistently for at least the last two weeks. For some reason, the app decided that it wanted to automatically choose the 9 mile location, even though I did not change anything. So when I showed up to pick up my smoothie from Airport, it wasn’t there. I felt badly because Topanga (the girl working at Airport) covered for it and made one there for me - but that means the 9 mile location had to throw out a perfectly good smoothie. It was also annoying for me because I had to wait for the new smoothie to be made, all because the app is sporadic with auto-choosing a location. And it doesn’t matter if you favorite a location or not. Most of the time the app will default to the closest location. But for some reason, today it chose the other location. This has happened 3 times at least. I’ve updated the app and it’s still a problem. Just know to always check on what location it chooses - even if you’ve been ordering the same way for weeks, it could suddenly choose another location in town. Solution: put a setting that the user can set the app to either always choose the closest location or always choose the favorite location. Program it so that if you have multiple favorite locations, it will choose the closest one of those favorites.

4. 2/5App. needs work, bigtime.

   I like Smoothie King quite a bit, but I find the app. quite complicated and unintuitive to use. Number 1) there is no “Cart” button. There have been so many times I started an order, went back to look at the selection of Smoothies, and then couldn’t figure out how to get to the Cart! Number 2) I once selected to reorder an old order from the app. I hit the submit button and nothing happened that indicated I made the order (i.e. no confirmation or e-mail). I checked the order history and didn’t see anything. I subsequently manually entered the order in the app. and subsequently received an e-mail confirmation for my manually entered order. When I showed up at the store, there were 2 orders with my name on it. Long story short, the “reorder” was from a previous web order, which picked up on the app. I tried to explain the situation to the store clerk who didn’t know what to say. I showed her my pending credit card transactions, one of which was “Smoothie King” and the other which showed “Level up Smoothie King”, both of which was done through the app.! I decided it really wasn’t her fault the app. is terrible so I just took the $40 worth of Smoothies when I only wanted $20 worth of Smoothies! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

5. 1/5Horrible App, Great Reward System

   If Smoothie King wants to have an app they should legitimately invest in fixing the bugs in their software. There have been multiple times the app refuses to load, produces an error, crashes, etc. For instance, say you go to place an order online, and you just want the same as your last order with a minor modification, so you click on reorder on that order. It loads the item automatically to your cart. You go to edit the item one of two things happens: the item either will not let you edit or upon saving the updated item details it will bring you back to your cart with an error saying SK has updated their menu and you will need to readd everything in your cart. You MUST clear your cart and start over to get past this glitch. That is just one of the many, many software bugs within this trash can of an app. There have been multiple times I attempted to order SK but simply gave up because their app is borderline nonfunctional. Have no idea what another reviewer is talking about, there is a pretty generous two month limit to the $2 coupon, not 24 hrs, and you can combine multiples of them. The coupons have always been this way. What the other user experienced is not a feature of the app or reward system, but sounds more like a glitch. The rewards are pretty generous 100 points per $1, 2500 points till you earn a coupon, once at Champion tier it is 125 per $1, so you earn coupons a little faster. It’s worth being a part of the reward system but sometimes it feels like the coupons just barely make it worth messing with the app at all. So much time wasted with this app.
