   This app became quickly my favorite one. I love how I’m a click away from my orthodontist. I’m addicted to the progress video, keeps me excited to change my tray every week, I watch my progress video more times than I would like to admit, it’s so rewarding. The messages that I receive from my orthodontist office always cheer me up and keeps me focused on my end goal. It’s 100% user friendly, when you are done scanning you can review your scans and rescan if you need to, along with videos that explain step by step. I love the fact that I’m doing this at home but with my orthodontist involved every step of the way.

2. 1/5Can’t get help with bad scan quality

   I had an iPhone XR when I started using the app - scan quality was great. About 7 weeks in I upgraded to an iPhone 13 and now my scan quality is awful. I am disappointed that my progress video starts with a sharp photo and deteriorates into a blurry mess. I deleted and reinstalled the app, it made no difference. I mounted my scan box off center so that both camera lenses were unobstructed, no difference. Fortunately my scans are still being accepted, but I’m sure the doctor would be better able to monitor my progress with sharp photos. I don’t see any settings in the app to adjust this. There is no way to contact Smile Doctors directly that I can find - I just keep getting redirected to an FAQ that doesn’t discuss this problem, which is frustrating. I am hopeful this one star review will get some attention and I’ll get some help. Aside from this scan quality issue and not being able to contact the developer, the app has been good.

3. 3/5Kids only/glitches every time

   1. Volume issues during scans. 2. Time to pull trays doesn’t account for folks with attachments—being barked at repeatedly while prying your trays out as fast as humanly possible gets old. 3. Geared toward the young crowd—would be nice to have a version/settings for folks over 16. 4. A place for the doctor to give guidance/feedback after delaying you to the next set of trays would be brilliant. Example: “More chewy work on the front teeth until the next scan in three days.” As it is now, I need to reach out and ask—lame. 5. Tilt and roll of the scans seems too twitchy—how about a set of levels to help folks hold the phone correctly? 6. Lastly, backwards type—even lamer. I have six more months. Do you think you could fix these issues by then?

   The Smile Doctor app is fantastic! It’s incredibly user-friendly, and the scanning process is seamless and straightforward. The interface is intuitive, making it easy for anyone to navigate and use effectively. Scanning takes just a few minutes and provides accurate results, which is super convenient. Overall, this app has made managing dental health so much easier. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hassle-free way to track their orthodontic progress!

5. 4/5Please fix this

   My son uses this app every week but when I tell him it’s time to do his scans he always groans because of how long it takes to do them, because every time you do a scan the narrator explains what to do in “extreme depth” Especially on the 3rd scan when the narrator says “make sure to scan the whole surface of your mouth” he groans the loudest during that because it takes so long for him to be able to take the actual scan. PLEASE make an edit to the app so users who have already known all the steps can turn off these narrations between scans, everything else in the app is great it’s just this one little thing that ticks off my son.
