2/5BEWARE: App breaks ambient light sensor functionality
Be warned, if you use this app to disable the LED screen on the smartmi p1 air filter, the screen becomes locked to either 100% brightness or off. It will no longer automatically adjust to the brightness of the room. To restore functionality, a factory reset of the air filter is needed. The app also suffers from some fairly poor UI design. However, the app is capable of turning on and off the really quite nice air filter remotely, so it earns 2 out of 5 instead of 1 out of 5

5/5Working just fine!
Can’t really understand why some users are complaining about the app because everything is working just fine. The app gives some extra features including detecting if firmware needed to be Installed and also makes that happen over the WiFi.

2/5Unsustainable hardware
I used to love this app and hardware but after a while all the air purifiers start to emit a whining noise. I’ve narrowed it down to the air sensor fan which is impossible to replace. I’ve had to replace all my air purifiers for competitor models so my ears can relax. Beautiful hardware with aluminum and leather, but it won’t last 5 years without buzzing at you. 😢

I am not having any issues with this app. I like being able to view the data if TVOC and PM2.5. Only thing I’d like to see is iPadOS and macOS version of this app. Just ordered another Smartmi Air Purifier for another room in my house after being satisfied with my first one.

Very bad app. Somehow seems to have gotten worse over time. I previously could see and configure my air purifiers when I set them up last year, but now I can’t even see them in the app. No idea how I’m supposed to change device settings or update firmware. I like the air purifier hardware but will absolutely not purchase more until the app is fixed. Developer needs to focus on fixing the basic functionality.
