2.0.1
Set 2.0.1 - Release Notes Bug Fixes - Fixed a bug where starring a task could schedule it to a past overdue date. Starring now only chains through today's tasks and never schedules earlier than the current time. - Fixed "All Tasks Complete" showing incorrectly when filters were active in Browse Tasks. Scheduling - The 8-task free tier limit now applies per day instead of globally. Overdue tasks from previous days no longer count against today, and each future day has its own limit. - New Schedule swipe action opens the full date and time picker directly from a task card. Browse Tasks - Filters and search now apply across all three sections: Overdue, Scheduled, and the main list. - Sorting now applies consistently across all sections. - Overdue section now shows all incomplete tasks with a past scheduled date, not just starred ones. - Added an Only Overdue quick toggle in the overdue section header. - The + button on overdue tasks now schedules to the date you are currently viewing. - Select All, Deselect All, and the task count now include all three sections. - Unschedule button now appears for any selected task that has a scheduled date. - Overdue tasks within today's schedule appear in red when their start time has passed.

2.1
Set 2.1 Scheduling - Set your own day start and day end times in Settings. Great for night owls or anyone whose day doesn't end at midnight. - When adding a task that would land past your day end, a popup now asks if you'd like to extend your day or move the task to tomorrow. Timer - The timer now shows today's tasks by default. Overdue and future-scheduled tasks no longer clutter the list. - Press the play button on any task to temporarily add it to the timer. Skip to remove it and return to your today list. - The complete button now works even if you haven't started the timer. Title Parsing - Title parsing now runs when you press return or tap away, instead of on every keystroke. This gives more reliable results and works properly with dictation. - You can now dictate durations using natural language -- "forty five minutes", "one and a half hours", "for twenty minutes", and more. - When a duration, date, or time is parsed from the title, the corresponding field now bounces to confirm it was picked up. Breaks - Add break mode now stays active until you exit it, so you can add multiple breaks in a row without re-entering the mode each time. General - Adding a new task now scrolls to it automatically, so you always see what you just created. Works in both inbox and project views. Bug Fixes - Fixed a bug where adding a task near the end of the day could silently place it on tomorrow without showing the day-end overflow popup. The popup now correctly appears whenever a new task would land past your day end time. - Fixed a bug where tapping the play button on an unstarred task could schedule it to tomorrow instead of today. - Fixed a bug where the complete button wouldn't work on tasks that had leftover timer data from a previous day. - Various bug fixes and performance improvements.

2.2
Set 2.2 Improvements - Long-pressing the plus button on the Projects tab now creates a new project. Inside a project, long-pressing it adds a new stage. - The first time you tap the plus button on the project list or inside a project, a tip popup explains the long-press shortcut. - Added 6 new Master achievements, one for each category. These are the ultimate goals for dedicated users. - Subtasks now default to no duration and show as simple bullet points. Tap the bullet or swipe right to open a duration picker. The recalculate button only appears when subtasks have time set. A new "Default subtask duration" setting lets you change this. - All breaks (completed and incomplete) are automatically cleaned up when your day is complete or all tasks are removed from today. Stale breaks from previous days are also cleared when the app becomes active. - The app review prompt now also triggers after completing 10 tasks, so users who don't finish a full day still get asked. - Redesigned expanded task card with a cleaner layout. Removed dividers between sections and streamlined the action bar. Buttons and headings now use the card's project or priority color. - Notes and subtasks toggle icons are now in the properties row for quicker access. Both sections stay hidden until you tap them or they already have content. A tip popup explains these on first card expansion. - Double-tap the notes preview to open the full-screen editor. The editor includes the markdown formatting toolbar, accent-tinted background, and body-size text. - Tap the task detail icons to switch between showing icons (notes, subtasks, recurrence) and showing the project name or priority, depending on your color mode. This applies to all tasks. - The recurrence icon now shows on collapsed cards in the Today view, not just in project views. - Less-used actions (move, repeat, templates, delete) are grouped in an overflow menu on the action bar to reduce clutter. - New markdown settings for heading colors, bold text color, and highlight style. Use ==text== to highlight in your notes, with background or underline styles, custom colors, and adjustable padding. - Right-click subtasks on Mac to quickly set duration, edit the title, or delete. Bug Fixes - Fixed a bug where swiping across the subtask completion circle would accidentally mark the subtask as complete. - Fixed the Project Pioneer achievement description to say "Complete" instead of "Create". - Fixed subtask completion not syncing across devices via CloudKit. - Fixed cards on Mac being too easy to accidentally drag when trying to click. - Clicking a different card on Mac now collapses the currently expanded card. - Double-clicking to expand a card on Mac now also selects it.

2.3
Set 2.3 Mac users: this release brings both 2.2 and 2.3 together. See the full list of 2.2 features (redesigned task cards, full-screen notes editor, markdown styling, subtask duration, and more) under Settings > About > Changelog. Improvements - Over 50 new ambient timer sounds grouped into Weather, Water, Nature, Atmospheres, Rhythmic, Coloured Noise, and Focus Tones. Rain, thunderstorms, ocean waves, birdsong, crackling fire, and much more. - Combo sounds that layer random effects on top of a base loop. Rain & Thunder, Forest Night, and Stormy Wind each make every session sound a little different. - Four binaural focus tones for headphones: Quiet Mind (theta), Calm (alpha), Focus (beta), and Deep Focus (gamma). - Six coloured noises: white, pink, brown, blue, violet, and green. - Heartbeat rhythm and two synthesised clock tick variants alongside the existing recorded ticks. - Ambient sound button directly in the timer view so you can browse and switch sounds live. - Ambient sounds keep playing in the background so the timer works as a focus companion. New "Continue sounds when paused" setting available too. - Free users get Clock Tick 1 and Rain (Light) to try. All others are part of Pro. - New "Auto-move overdue tasks to Today" setting. Unfinished tasks from the past 7 days automatically move to today's list when you open the app. Turn it on under Settings > Data. - New evening plan reminder to nudge you to plan for tomorrow. Defaults to 9 PM, configurable under Settings > Notifications. - Three new notification styles: Army Sergeant, Mob Boss, and Grandma. Each has its own voice across all notification types. - The overview section now shows "All Done" with a tick when every task is complete. - Added "Send Feedback" under Settings > About with pre-filled device and version info. - Added a Changelog in Settings > About so you can browse the full version history inside the app. - Clearer subscription terms on the paywall. The selected plan now shows exactly when your free trial starts, when billing begins, how much you'll be charged, and how to cancel, so you always know what you're signing up for. - Mac only: right-click a subtask and pick "Convert to Task" to promote it to a top-level task in the same project or stage. - New Skip to Tomorrow swipe action. Use it as your swipe action, or turn on the evening option so it shows up after a set time (default 5 PM). Task auto-stars back when tomorrow arrives. Undo toast included. - Markdown Settings are now reachable from Settings > Interface, not just inside the notes editor. Bug Fixes & UI - Redesigned all picker and settings sheets with consistent themed backgrounds, icon headers, and bottom action buttons. - Fixed several settings sheets closing immediately on first tap. - Fixed right-side alignment of dropdowns, buttons, and toggles in Mac settings. - Sound volume slider now updates in real time while a sound is playing. - Markdown list toolbar buttons now properly toggle on and off. Tapping the same type removes the marker; tapping a different type replaces it. - Heading buttons now toggle at the start of the current line. Switching between a heading and a list type replaces one with the other. - Fixed the cursor jumping to the start of the line after toggling a toolbar button. - Fixed bullet point markers appearing between every character after using the formatting toolbar. - Numbered lists continue from where a previous list left off instead of restarting at 1. - Fixed pressing Enter on an empty list item not exiting the list. - Fixed subtasks also appearing as regular tasks in the project's task list. Subtasks now only show under their parent task as intended. - After sending feedback by email, the feedback sheet now closes and a thank-you message appears so you know it went through. - Fixed a bug where a brand new task card looked collapsed after pressing Return but drag-to-reorder was silently blocked.

3.0
Set 3.0 is the biggest update yet: turn photos of any list into tasks with Apple Intelligence, block distracting apps until your day is done, export any list as a PDF, Markdown, or Rich Text, and a major iCloud sync overhaul that fixes duplicates for good. Huge thanks to everyone who wrote in with feedback. A lot of 3.0 was shaped directly by your suggestions. NEW FEATURES Scan Tasks from Image (Pro) Photograph or import any list (handwritten notes, whiteboards, screenshots) and Set turns it into tasks. Durations, dates, and times ("45m", "tomorrow", "10.15 - Jogging") are picked up automatically. On-device Apple Intelligence on supported devices, with smart parsing everywhere else. Review and edit before adding. Find it in the Today and project toolbars. App Blocker (Pro, iPhone & iPad) Block distracting apps with Screen Time, whether individual apps or whole categories. Block while a task timer runs, or choose "Until Today is clear," where apps stay blocked until your list is done (with a daily pause escape hatch). Turning it off requires typing a short focus sentence. AI Notes Rewriting (Pro) In any notes editor, tap the sparkles button to clean up messy formatting or rewrite notes as a clear step-by-step checklist. Runs on-device, and one tap reverts to your original. Export Your Lists (PDF, Markdown, Rich Text) Export Today, any project, or the Inbox as a PDF, Markdown, or Rich Text file. Projects export with stages as sections, stage colors, and a progress summary; Today and the Inbox export as clean checklists. There's also a one-tap Email to Self that sends the list as text with the PDF attached to an address you set in Export Options. The Export Options sheet adds black & white printing, include notes and subtasks, full markdown styling in notes, and a Pro option to hide Set branding. IMPROVEMENTS - iCloud sync overhaul: fixed duplicate tasks, events, and reminders across devices; deletions now stick everywhere; sync no longer resets your times or task order. - Auto-starred tasks (recurring, due, calendar) keep the start time you gave them. - Choose your completed-task icon (classic tick or Set's slash) under Settings > Interface. - Undo & Redo across the app. - Drag a task onto the week strip's arrows to page to any week and drop it on any day. - Recurring fixes: every-other-week weekday repeats space correctly; monthly-on-a-date lands on the right day; opening some recurring stats no longer freezes. - The Welcome tutorial gains a "New in 3.0" stage, added for existing users too. - Add Set's timer to Control Center on iPhone (iOS 18 and later) for one-tap access to the Timer, showing the task you're timing. - Get a notification when a task or break timer reaches its estimate while Set is in the background. BUG FIXES - Dragging a task upward in a project now auto-scrolls at the screen edge; reordering no longer stalls near expanded cards. - The evening plan reminder updates correctly when you change its style or time. - Fixed reminders firing for completed or deleted tasks, and reminders lost after relaunch. - Fixed a crash when deleting a recurring task as it completed. - Tasks scheduled just before midnight now get the correct start time. - Fixed rising memory use when browsing timer sounds. - "Reset to Defaults" now resets every setting. - The timer no longer stops counting when a task runs far over its estimate. - Background timers and Live Activities no longer freeze, and a running timer restores correctly after relaunch. - The home screen widget clears yesterday's tasks at your day end without needing to open the app. - Typing in long notes no longer lags, and undo now works while editing notes. MAC NOTES - Scan Tasks supports drag & drop, file picker, and paste. The App Blocker is iPhone and iPad only (Apple doesn't allow it on Mac). Keyboard Shortcuts are reachable from the sidebar, and you can right-click a task to move it to a project or set a repeat.

3.1
Set 3.1 is a focused round of quality-of-life upgrades: a distraction-free focus mode, swipe to clear finished tasks, faster deleting, adjustable title lengths, and a new quick-add bar on Mac. NEW FEATURES Focus Mode (iPhone & iPad) Tap the empty space below your Today list, or tap the Today tab again, to enter a distraction-free view that hides everything but your tasks and start times. Rows go read-only: tap a task to reveal its circle and check it off, and the estimated finish time shows at the bottom. New options under Settings, Interface can also hide completed tasks and the status bar in focus mode. Tap the exit button or the background to leave. Clear Completed, One at a Time Swipe any finished task in Today to log it (iPhone & iPad), or right-click it and choose Log Task on Mac. It moves to your stats and clears from the list, so you no longer have to log the whole day at once. Quick-Add Bar on Mac A persistent "Add a task" bar now sits at the bottom of Today, every project, and the Inbox on Mac, adapting its label to where the task will go. Type and press Return to capture tasks without reaching for the toolbar, and keep going to add several in a row. It parses durations, dates, and times from what you type ("45m", "tomorrow", "10.15") just like the inline editor, and the buttons on the right set the priority (click to cycle, right-click to choose) and default duration for new tasks. IMPROVEMENTS - Quick Delete: turn it on under Settings > Interface to delete tasks instantly, with no confirmation popup. - Adjustable title length: choose how many lines task and subtask titles show before they truncate, from one to five, under Settings > Interface. - Swiping a blank, just-created task now deletes it instead of running your usual swipe action. - Mac toolbar: a new option under Settings > Interface always collapses the Today toolbar into a single menu, instead of only when the window is narrow. - Auto-Simplify Timer: a new option under Settings, Timer strips the running timer down to just the countdown and task name; pausing brings the controls back. A companion option can hide the status bar while the timer is simplified. - The timer screen is tidier: the countdown sits dead centre, the ambient-sound and subtask buttons moved to matching top corners, and the app-blocker shield badge is gone. You can still pause or turn off the App Blocker anytime from Settings. - The More Apps section in Settings now pulls my latest apps straight from the App Store, so it stays up to date on its own. BUG FIXES - Fixed a crash that could happen when resetting all data. MAC NOTES - The quick-add bar is Mac only. Focus mode and swipe actions remain on iPhone and iPad.

3.2
· 23 Jul 2026
Set 3.2 adds an interactive tutorial and a major UI overhaul, plus three ways to stay on top of your day: a rapid sort mode that files your Inbox one tap at a time, a draggable + button that drops tasks exactly where you want them, and an optional overdue alarm for overrun tasks. NEW FEATURES Interactive Tutorial A hands-on, two minute tour of the app using practice tasks. Rescue an overdue day with one tap, complete and reorder tasks, skip one to tomorrow, try Sort Mode and focus mode, and see the timer and stats in action. Each stop includes a short note on why the feature helps ADHD brains. New users get the tour on first launch, and you can replay it anytime from the top of Settings. A Cleaner Open Task Opening a task now swaps the tab bar for a floating action bar: start its timer, star it, move it, delete it, or close it. Pin a note or subtasks so they show on the collapsed card, or Isolate a task, from its menu or a swipe, for a distraction-free view of just that one card. Sort Mode File a messy Inbox or a whole project fast. Tap the Projects tab again, choose Sort Inbox from the toolbar, or use Sort Tasks inside a project. Pick what to set (project, stage, priority, duration, date) and how to move through it: task by task, or one topic at a time across every task. Set then walks you through with big tap targets and nothing else on screen. Tap a task's name mid-sort to complete or delete it, and skip, step back, or exit anytime. Drag the + Button The + button now drags. Pull it into your list to create a task exactly where you drop it: between tasks in Today or the Inbox, into a stage, or onto a project card. A dotted line shows where the task will land. Inside a project, tap a stage's header to select it: the + takes on the stage's color and new tasks land there until you tap it again. Overdue Alarm An optional firmer nudge for overrun tasks. Turn it on under Settings > Timer and the timer alarm repeats at an interval you choose (every 1 to 30 minutes) once a task runs past its estimate, until you complete or pause it. It keeps nudging in the background too, via notifications. IMPROVEMENTS - Progress comes alive: the ring fills around its circle as you complete tasks, and finishing one while the overview is scrolled off floats a filling ring at the top. - The reschedule button spins as it rebuilds your day, and can be turned off under Settings > Interface. - Cleaner project overview tinted with your project's color: tap the name to edit, or the progress ring for the exact percent. - Completed tasks swipe to log, or Log All to clear a view's completed tasks at once, in Today, Projects, and the Inbox. - Notes and subtasks open automatically when you expand a task, pinned notes show in full, and a new Show Notes in Focus Mode option keeps them visible while you focus. - Better drag and drop: a dotted line shows where a dragged task will land, dragging an Inbox task over a project highlights it, cards no longer show through each other, and reordering is smoother. - Cycling color modes shows a quick toast, and Color Mode now lives in Settings > Interface. The reorder-stages banner and + button take on the color of what you are doing. - New Hide Status Bar options: hide it everywhere, or only in Focus Mode, Sort Mode, while isolating a task, or in the Timer, under Settings > Interface. - New Inbox Color options: None or Grey (Flat) for a cleaner, flatter Inbox, under Settings > Interface. - Regenerate the Welcome to Set project anytime from Settings for a fresh, up to date copy. - Better on the Mac: the open task card matches iPhone (one star, Move restored, five actions in a footer), Sort Mode wears your project's color, and selecting a stage aims the quick-add bar at it. - First-time tip popups share one card style, dim the whole screen, and wait for the keyboard; starred tasks keep their star with Hide Details on. - The full guide on our website has been refreshed: https://get-set.app/docs/getting-started/
