  1. 4/5Babes just learn the language

    All seriousness if you don’t understand Korean this app is not for you. You might think you can use Papago to translate the text, but they discourage screenshotting, and put a cap to how much text you can “share” i.e. copy to then get translated. This of course is to stop others from pirating their material, but does not help those trying to get their fav novels translated. This app is great if you understand Korean and have money for the cookies (hence the good rating) but Gurl.. if not

  3. 2/5Very Slow Cover Image Loading and TTS Starting

    In the past several months, the book cover thumbnails download very slowly or not at all. It makes browsing almost impossible. Also, the TTS function starts very long after the play button is pressed. And if I press the play button thinking I did not press it because the playing has not started for a while, two instances of TTS will play. The only option then is to close the app and restart. These were not issues I had before. Not sure what the developers did to the current version of the app. The app performance is very poor.

    I see many “complaining” reviews here. I think they are jealous giving bad reviews because they can’t real Koreans lol I love this app. In fact, this is he only app I spend money on. They have great contents and great marketing strategies. Keep doing the great jobs!

  5. 2/5Inferior to the browser version

    Unfortunately, while the app does provide some extra features and customization, it ends up being worse than the browser version. For one, characters’ faces appear whenever they are talking in the browser version (and any other version), which is necessary since that’s the way authors indicate who’s talking rather than clarifying it in the text itself. This app, for some reason, doesn’t show these faces. It looks and functions much like Apple Books, which would be fine for normal books, but doesn’t really work well for web novels. In fact, the app has some problems with displaying the art in general (wrong placement, the absence of it altogether, etc.). I really want to use this app, but I find that it’s overall unusable and doesnt have much to offer outside of extra chapters I can pay for, and I don’t plan to pay for anything through an app that’s this mediocre and clearly incomplete.

    If you can't read Korean, don't use their service. Once you buy a coin, you will notice they force you to read on their app, which doesn't support translation. When you switch devices, they will instantly block you and tell you to contact the customer center. Once you contact them, they will ignore you, especially those from abroad. They are far from friendly to foreigners. Now, I'm more than doubting their legitimacy.

    Got myself accused of illegal sharing and permanently banned WITHOUT even start reading anything. Looks like screenshotting the promotional details and app tutorials for google translation also count as suspicious in their standards. Their supports is also incredibly dismissive and unhelpful especially towards foreigners using the the app. No solution given whatsoever. Overall, extremely horrendous experience for potential foreign customers who want to support the originals.
